    Tuscan potato soup
    Lisa M.

My mom and I stopped by and decided to give Granny's a try. It was a cute restaurant for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. It also came with a soup and I went with the Tuscan potato soup. The soup was quite tasty and flavorful. It was definitely homemade. I would get it again. The sandwich was pretty good and fries were crinkle cut. Overall, I was satisfied with my lunch. My mom ordered breakfast and went with the pancakes, bacon, eggs and sausage. The portion size was good and the food satisfied my mom's taste buds. Overall, this is a nice breakfast, brunch or lunch spot. Check it out!

What a great way to start my Chicago trip trying a local staple! This place was so homey and had great local diner vibes! The staff were friendly and the food and service was excellent! It's located in strip center plaza so there's plenty of parking! We ordered the spicy flamingo, the country biscuit, and Harriet's Garden! Everything was fantastic! Flavorful and presentation was on point! The cheese was melty and gooey and there were fresh avocados and crispy potatoes! If you're in the area, definitely a must try! Family owned and operated and loved the experience !

was surprised that something was open on new year's day so decided to grab some brunch. got seated right away and helped probably 5 minutes after. got water and sprite for drinks. the sprite tasted like your good sprite. for food we got the french toast combo, pancakes, bacon and extra crispy hasbrown. the combo 6/20, the french toast was okay nothing crazy, needed the syrup. the bacon i was not a fan of. the sausages were super good and the eggs were bland and not it. pancakes 7/10 typical pancakes nothing crazy but not the best hasbrown 8/10 could of used more browning on the bottom but overall really good with a hint of salt bacon 6/10 i was not a fan but my partner enjoyed the bacon so to each their own. you pay at the end up front and the pricing is good for the quality of food.

Granny's is home away from home! Excellent service and attention to details. Very friendly staff. Every time I come I feel welcomed. The food is delicious. My favorite is the spicy flamingo. The coffee is always on point and I never have to ask for refills- they keep it coming. The ambience is chill. My favorite place!

Great peppery biscuits and gravy, homemade food. Typical breakfast/lunch pricing. One of the better breakfast places in the area.

Perfectly fine-…read moreeverything was in (relatively) good order (seat cushion notwithstanding - not comfortable at all). We were seated immediately on arrival and noted the terrific bakery counter with pies and cakes- really cool! I ordered coffee (but of course) and hub-hub ordered a grapefruit juice. Both came fairly quickly. I ordered a french toast combo; the waitress said I'll give you exactly what you want for a bit less, as there was a cheaper option on the menu that'll just work! Of course, I said! Hubby ordered a sunny side up skillet that came with two beautiful sunny side up eggs on hash browns and onions. Ok- the verdict? My sausages weren't very flavorful, unfortunately. But the french toast? Fantastic -with warm syrup too (always a major plus). Hubby liked his skillet, but the problem was with the fresh onions- they were TOO fresh and not cooked thru. Hmm. That was the key one point demerit. But you know what? The owner- an older gent at the counter who took our money- had opened the place 35 years ago (!). Very nice. I like the spot, and would come back again for sure. Have YOU tried Dappers? If not - give it a shot!

The food quality has declined. They add peppers to their gravy, as well as peppers in their meatloaf. While not a downturn I do not recall this previously. The bread baskets are not as plentiful as before. If it's the same owners and costs need to increase as everything has done in order to maintain quality then do it! This place needs to do something.

I didn't take any pictures of the menu but you can find it online. Parking is pretty easy. They have a good amount of seating inside. Food portions are more than generous. We ordered banh xeo, grilled pork tenderloin & shrimp egg rolls bun rice noodles, and pho dac biet. Service was very decent. It's family owned and run by a Vietnamese family. When we came in, there were a lot of Vietnamese that ate there. This place is definitely legit. Prices were very fair. I would come back to try more items. -banh xeo 5 - this is a huge Vietnamese crepe. The skin is crispy and it's filled with pork and shrimp. I was seated pretty quickly and given a menu and ordered my standard unleaded coffee - decaf for those of you in the know. The ambience of the place was pretty good - very modern- very nice and it looked like it was very well-maintained. Always a good thing! To be honest? The only demerit was the waitress. Oh, she was good as a waitress, but she was not warm or welcoming - it seemed like she was just going through the motions, albeit professionally. It kind of makes a difference to me, you know? I decided to order a build your own omelette - I got turkey, sausage, turkey, bacon, and green peppers. In addition, I ordered a side of French toast and decided to try the hashbrowns because they look like they were housemade and not frozen. After a short bit of time, the food came out and oh my God! The portions were huge. I ate the French toast first but the only thing I noticed was the syrup was room temperature and not warmed up - not exactly a dealbreaker for me, but it would've pushed them over the top. The hashbrowns? Excellent! I put some hot sauce on the omelette and ate it all up - lickety split! So - would I come back? Probably. But I would hope for a different waitress is all. But I will say this - any breakfast joint that starts getting busy the very moment they open up at 7 AM on Sunday morning? Must be doing something right!
