My first visit was memorable. Had to do my normal first time meal. The Farmhouse (biscuit and gravy, 2 eggs and potatoes) delivered on flavor and quantity was abundant. My mom and I stopped by and decided to give Granny's a try. It was a cute restaurant for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. It also came with a soup and I went with the Tuscan potato soup. The soup was quite tasty and flavorful. It was definitely homemade. I would get it again. The sandwich was pretty good and fries were crinkle cut. Overall, I was satisfied with my lunch. My mom ordered breakfast and went with the pancakes, bacon, eggs and sausage. What a great way to start my Chicago trip trying a local staple! This place was so homey and had great local diner vibes! The staff were friendly and the food and service was excellent! It's located in strip center plaza so there's plenty of parking! We ordered the spicy flamingo, the country biscuit, and Harriet's Garden! Everything was fantastic! We were in the area for brunch and Granny's menu looked good. My daughter is a vegetarian so choice is important. Service was excellent, attentive and prompt. It was a busy Sunday morning but our food came out quickly. Warm and bright decor. I had the Spicy Flamingo and the house made chorizo was amazing. was surprised that something was open on new year's day so decided to grab some brunch. got seated right away and helped probably 5 minutes after. got water and sprite for drinks. the sprite tasted like your good sprite. for food we got the french toast combo, pancakes, bacon and extra crispy hasbrown. the combo 6/20, the french toast was okay nothing crazy, needed the syrup. the bacon i was not a fan of. the sausages were super good and the eggs were bland and not it. pancakes 7/10 typical pancakes nothing crazy but not the best hasbrown 8/10 could of used more browning on the bottom but overall really good with a hint of salt bacon 6/10 i was not a fan but my partner enjoyed the bacon so to each their own. you pay at the end up front and the pricing is good for the quality of food. read more

The first thing you'll notice is how brightly lit and lightly colored the booths are, a huge contrast to the other diners. We were seated right away and had our drink order taken within 3 minutes, it was great service. I ordered the Rueben Sandwich, which came with their homemade sauce, it was a fantastic because it had a coleslaw feel to it. My food sat on the counter for about 5 minutes had no idea where my waitress was, then when Igot my food I told her it was cold. She took it baack and told the manager I heard him yell to the cook to put it in the microwave,I then called her over and told her I did not want microwaved food. I had been here before about 2 years ago and I remember being disappointed. I decided to stop by today and I'm so glad that I decided to try them out again. I arrived around 1 pm and there was no wait. I glanced at the menu and there were so many yummy options. I wanted breakfast so I went with the Mile High breakfast bowl. Ham, peppers, onions, cheese, breakfast potatoes and 2 over easy eggs. I chose pancakes with it too. Boy, oh boy, this was delicious!!!! The potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly, just enough cheese and plenty of diced ham pieces. I'm not sure if it was because I hadn't had my coffee yet but the coffee here was on point! I added the vanilla creamer and it was perfection!! I had 2 cups. Pancakes were just ok and the service was alright. The server came just when I needed him. We had a late breakfast with friends at Granny's Restaurant and it was a disaster of an experience. We arrived at about 10:30a and the place was busy (not PACKED, but busy). Our group was on the larger size (four adults, 3 kids, 1 infant) but not something that should have caused the issue it did regarding seating. It seems like they have only one large table (?) because we waited for approximately 45 minutes for it to open up - all while being told, "It'll be just a minute..." and "...they are just paying now..." multiple times. When we were finally seated a waitress approached our table, greeted us, and asked if she could get us anything to drink. Given the amount of time it took to be seated we had already perused the menu and we all knew what we were getting: "Actually, we can just place our orders right now, we're ready." After fumbling for a response the waitress told us, "Well, I'll have to come back because I have to put something else in the system first." and walked away. I was completely confused but our friend, a former waitress, explained why it made a little bit of sense. Shortly after she left the bus boy delivered waters for the table... two short. Returning a few minutes later we placed our order without much difficulty. Shortly thereafter she returned with our drinks. We were a bit shocked to see that their kids cups are styrofoam... maybe they have not been around kids much but kids like to test the durability of anything and everything they can get their hands on. Within 30 seconds of the cups being passed out we had a tsunami of milk on the table and floor due to one of the cups being squeezed (by a 2 year old) and the side easily giving way. The cherry on top: ZERO staff response. No extra napkins, no replacement beverage (in a different cup), no visit from the bus boy. NOTHING. We jokingly wonder if any of them even saw it happen and, if not, how long before the vast amount of milk that soaked into the carpet beings to smell... For the next 25 minutes we proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait... for our food. All the while we were never checked on by our waitress. No pop-by to see if we needed any drink refills or touch base to say "the food will be right up." When the food was ready and delivered to our table it was done so in three trips with a minute or so between trips. Now, I will admit that the food was not that bad. It was basic, and they did a good job with the kids meals (presentation was good as well as portion size), but tasted good and was served hot. But that attempted saving grace was then negated when our waitress finally did then check on us for coffee refills. The only problem was, she literally reached over a two year old (directly over her head) with the piping hot coffee pot to refill a cup. Who does that?! I'd be remiss if I left out mention of the slight odor of years and years of indoor smoking that still resides somewhere within these walls, be it the carpet, the drop ceiling tiles, or even the walls themselves... Our experience is probably one of the worst dining out experiences I've had in a while. And it's so upsetting because I recall visiting, and loving, Granny's when I was a child. My hopes were high, but dashed. My advice: explore other dining options before giving this place a go. But, if you must, come as a pair or small group (3 people max...) and set the bar low. read more

I grew up in Cody. We are here visiting family. My grand daughter called Granny's to order some food to go. The lady said we do not do phone orders. So we sent someone down to buy 5 cinnamon rolls. The lady turned us away!!!! She said we can not give you food to go! WTF? This is not the Granny's I grew up with. What difference is it to put the rolls on plates or in boxes! Pretty average breakfast/lunch style restaurant of this style. Large portions, but none of the flavors or textures impress at all. For the same price, you could go to IHOP or Baker's Square and have slightly more options and a bit more flavor. The decor and service are average as well, sufficient for this type of restaurant but not somewhere you'd go for a special occasion. All the food items I tried were mostly unmemorable. I was a bit disappointed in nearly all the dishes for small details -- Cream of chicken soup had more of a broth like consistency, pancakes were not fluffy, philly steak was a bit overcooked, omelette could've used more salt and significantly more cheese, benedict didn't have the consistency of thick gravy, etc. Alright given the price, but I'd rather pay slightly more for better executed cooking. read more

Went here for breakfast with my wife and daughter. We had great service! Very friendly and attentive! Food was also great. My wife really likes their turkey sausage. Their breakfast potatoes are tasty. Their over easy eggs were some of the best cooked I've had from a restaurant recently. I cook eggs all the time; and, can't stand when I order at a restaurant and the bottom of my over easy eggs is all crispy and brown! These had no crisp, just fluffy white. Perfect! My daughter did say her omelet could have had more seasoning. She added salt and pepper and some hot sauce and enjoyed it. For sure worth stopping in for breakfast! The great thing about breakfast is it's quick, it's cheap, and it's hard to mess up. Granny's delivered a tables worth of food, in a timely manor, and everything tasted great! The thing that sticks out to me most is the extensiveness if the menu, it's absolutely huge! I opted for something simple, just some potatoes with bacon, sausage, cheese, gravy, and eggs. I switched things up by subbing out regular pancakes for some pumpkin spice with craisins and cinnamon apple. All parties at the table were very pleased with the meal. Went here yesterday morning after having a good time with family the night before. It was packed when we arrived, and even more so when we left, which is usually a good sign. I had the Emerald Isle breakfast, which is seasoned potatoes, homemade corned beef hash, cheese, and two eggs (I had mine sunny side up). The real star of this dish was the corned beef hash! It was tender, cut into edible bites, and seasoned perfectly! My fiancé had their breakfast that comes with bacon, sausage, gravy, potatoes, cheese, and eggs (he had his scrambled). He said his breakfast was good, but that it was lacking on the sausage gravy. We think it was due to them being extremely busy. I've been here a few times now, and have had both their breakfast and lunch menus, and I have yet to be disappointed.
