Dear Julie salad on a cold bowl, yummo!
    Dinah T.

This is my local breakfast place. Been coming here for many years! It's family owned and they have a couple of restaurants in the Chicagoland area. I enjoy coming here mostly for breakfast. I like their service as well. The place is spacious and you can actually have big parties here like 10+ and more to be seated. They have sitting booths as well. They have a couple of TVs if you enjoy watching TV while you eat. They have their own private parking lot. On to the food. I like their open face turkey sandwich. It's on top of white bread slices of turkey with brown gravy with mashed potatoes and a little bit of stuffing and cranberry jelly. Reminds me a little Thanksgiving meal. They have daily different soups. My favorite is the cream, rice and chicken soup so thick and creamy. I like their breakfast meals, their menu is extensive. I believe you can have breakfast anytime of the day. You can have a skillet or a huge omelet, bacon on the side love extra crispy myself or any way you want, they're accommodating if you ask. I like their canned peaches and cottage cheese. The peaches are halves, which I like. Their steaks are ok and ribs too. This is more of a family friendly place. A lot of seniors come here and dine. It's not divey, but they still have carpeted floors and a diner bar type situation in the back of the restaurant if you like to sit there and watch the staff grab and make orders. And don't forget the desserts they have pies and cakes from a local bakery as well as if you buy the full dinner meal, your dessert comes with it. You can eat it or take it to Go, which is a plus. My favorite salad is the Julie salad which is iceberg lettuce in a very cold bowl and comes with slices of deli meat of turkey and ham, American cheese and Swiss cheese hard, boiled egg, red onion, and some kind of green olives, chopped relish. It's so good sometimes you don't even need dressing, but I love their house made thousand island dressing that looks pink, which I believe they use canned beets for the color it's so good sometimes I ask to go of extra salad dressing cause sometimes I can't finish the salad by myself in one sitting. Overall, a great place to just chill and hang out and enjoy a nice meal. I definitely come back here again and again!

First time at the West East American Diner! Seated immediately and our drinks order taken immediately - Fast customer service! For the appetizer we ordered the Mozzarella sticks which were good. For my main entree I got the Belgian waffle w/ pecans, side of Sweet Potato Fries, and two eggs sunny side up. The diner has an old school but lively ambiance. Definitely worth checking out for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We were in the area. Have not been here in a while so we decided to dine here tonight. The restaurant was packed and large enough that you don't really hear the people's conversations at the next table... which we liked! Our waitress Roseanne was so sweet, she gave us glasses of ice water and a bread basket when we sat down. The bread basket had about 20 packages of crackers, 4 croissants and 2 pieces of Italian thick sliced bread. It was really soft and delicious. My husband ordered the Russian Reuben, but he doesn't like his corn beef cooked so they served it cold and the sandwich was so huge it was served open face. He ordered the deluxe because it comes with a soup or dinner salad and fries. He liked it but told me would try something else next time. I ordered the turkey dinner. It comes with a soup of salad so I picked the dinner salad with creamy garlic dressing. I can't have tomatoes because tomatoes cause me arthritis pain so I did not have that on my salad. The turkey dinner was really good except the stuffing was on the sweet side with yellow raisins which I did not expect...so I did not eat more than a small bite of the stuffing. I probably won't order it again. I am more of a savory stuffing fan. The Ala Carte Dinner also came with dessert. My husband and I split a piece of chocolate cream pie. It was delicious! If you're looking for a family friendly restaurant with lots of food options you have to give this restaurant a try. They have breakfast, sandwiches, dinners, Italian food... and more

Awesome all around. We had a party of 12 and every single one of our food items were accurate. Our waitress was great. She was very polite and attentive, really made all of us feel welcome My only complaint would be that the Country Fried Steak was overcooked, it was chewy and tough to chew. I wouldn't order it again, but would definitely go back and try other items from their menu. Everything else was good

Always love this place! Not one thing i wouldnt like but the dust on the windows. Overall the restaurant is good!

Love the fried cod with baked mac and cheese.

I love Dapper's Restaurant. Have gone there for years. Today we had fried cod with baked mac and cheese. It was very good. Loved the clam chowder souo. Grestvsrkectuon in the bread basket including muffins. We had their chocolate mousse cake for dessert. I highly recommend everything we ordered.

The Mediterranean wrap too big and loosely put together to pick up, let alone fit in my mouth.

Since it was our first visit, we said we needed a minute to look over the menu. The cashier really friendly and told us to take our time and let them know if we had any questions, and also told us about the daily special and rewards program. Our order was ready pretty quickly, and the employee who handed it to us was just as friendly and helpful, and answered another question I had about the rewards program. BOTH employees COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER. I had an issue with my Toast rewards account, and the owner/manager took my information and said it would be resolved by the next day. The issue did get resolved as promised, and I really appreciated the quick follow-through. We ordered cheesy beefs with sweet peppers, fries, and shakes. The amount of beef on the sandwich was perfect for me, not as much as pictured in the menu photos, but definitely not skimpy either. EVERYTHING we had was VERY GOOD. I was expecting the food to be good, as a few of our neighbors have had positive things to say, but I honestly wasn't expecting to put it ABOVE Portillo's and Buona Beef. Between the food, cleanliness, and exceptional service, we had a great first experience. We'll definitely be back soon to try more of the menu and especially for the $1 shakes on Saturdays!

We expected a good experience. When you walk in? Man, it's got Shoeless Joe Jackson pics and news articles posted up - like - everywhere it seems! Definitely had a sports bar vibe (natch) and we were sat at a hightop in the bar area. Not so bad as it was fast! The menus - drinks! Beer! the overall apps/mains! I had a 4-beer flight of micro-brew lagers from the region. Supposed to be 5oz pours each, but with the head? Who's really counting???? hahahahahaha. Ok - the beer was fine! We ordered 8 pizza wings (parmesan/lemon and another flavor I can't "quite" remember) - either way, the parm/lem ones really were the best! We had blue cheese and ranch dipping sauce- so we dipped! Oh lord did we dip. Oh yeah. We got the happy hour pricing, so we'll be back for more of THIS happy hour special. We got 3 smashburger-type sliders, which came with a TON of tater tots (it was a $2 "upgrade"). Want to know the best thing? They had buttery buns and were HOT. As were the TOTS (yes! if you know me I only like HOT TOTS!). I ordered a gnocchi which me and hubby asked if we could split. Holy moly- the split portions were good sized too! And yes- HOT! Ok- we liked this place. A LOT. And we WILL be back. for sure.

The outdoor patio overlooking the golf course is absolutely beautiful--relaxing, scenic, and the kind of place that makes you feel like you're on vacation. Even on a busy Thursday evening, the atmosphere was lively without ever feeling hectic. Our server, Jordyn, was outstanding. She looked young, but don't let that fool you--she was completely on top of everything. We were a party of six that couldn't decide what we wanted, laughed way too loudly, and probably tested her patience more than once. She handled us with grace, humor, and a smile the entire time. Somewhere along the way we started calling her "Wednesday" from The Addams Family, and she rolled with it perfectly. Great sense of humor and fantastic service. The food was excellent. The Crispy Eggplant Salad was absolutely phenomenal--fresh, flavorful, and easily large enough to share between two people. The burger was cooked perfectly, the cocktails were outstanding, and everything arrived promptly. The bar staff also deserve a shout-out. They were welcoming from the moment we arrived, made great eye contact, acknowledged everyone immediately, and had drinks in our hands in no time. That's the kind of hospitality that makes people want to come back. Fox & Turtle has the rare combination of great food, attentive service, excellent drinks, and a beautiful setting. It's the kind of place you expect to find inside an exclusive club, yet thankfully it's open for everyone to enjoy. We'll definitely be back.

I was treating my parents for my dad's birthday month (My daughter has a lot of activities, lol) and the menu appeared to have something for everyone. The 22 minute drive to Itasca was so worth it! The restaurant, which is open to the public, is on the same property as the Itasca Country Club, which is not open to the public. You go down the stairs, through the developing pizza bar, and to the restaurant. The restaurant space itself is cozy, with beautiful, natural lighting, and lots of seating options. We were asked booth or table and seated right by the picture window with beautiful views of their ice rinks and golf course. The food was above and beyond my expectations! Between the 5 people at the table, I sampled the French Onion soup, Sweet & Spicy Brussels, Bacon Smash Burger, Pot Roast Grilled Cheese, Sweet Tees (Donut Holes), Peanut Butter Smore-o, and Verde Dulce. The soup was not salty as I find some iterations, the brussels had complex flavors with hot honey, bacon, candied pistachios, and crumbled feta. The pot roast grilled cheese was very flavorful, but my boyfriend did state he wished the sandwich had more meat in it. The Sweet Tees donut holes were cooked to perfection without being oily and the jam accompaniment was a perfect texture and level of sweet. The Peanut Butter Smore-o was creamy and decadent with its perfectly ratioed layers of ganache, peanut butter mousse, Oreos, and whipped cream. The Verde Dulce, though, was the delicious classic olive oil cake with pistachio gelato & that throwback of candied pistachios from my appetizer. Even better than the food, our server, Kara, was one of the sweetest, most attentive human beings! She answered all of our questions, refilled our fountain drink and iced tea glasses when they were at 75% without prompting, made sure my dad felt celebrated with a candle, etc. Her teammate who was in charge of clearing our table was also prompt and I appreciate her asking what plates she could take. Overall, it was a beautiful late morning/early afternoon with delicious food and impeccable service. 10/10 recommend!!!
