Had a horrible experience in this ihop!!!! And to add salt to the wound, I was treated nasty about it How I ordered a spinach salad with grill chicken and there was a dead green bug in it !!!! And the manager tried to take only 4.00 dollars off my order even though I didn't eat nothing! !!! Thank god my mom was with me because the bitch would of came out but I don't act that way in front of my mom. Kept it classy and still they were acting like I was being unreasonable. Never again yuck!!!!! I waited there till they took it off my bill and they were so unprofessional, the manager didn't even want to speak with me after i ask to speak with her. Coward. The only person attentive to us was the waitress, at least one person was doing their job. I hadn't been to IHop in a while, so when I was invited to go I was so excited . But the place I was taken to was the worst. I had a chicken omelet and it was dry and hard to swallow, it came with a side of pancakes and I couldn't believe that they weren't fluffy and easy to swallow. The waitress disappeared and when she came back we complained to her and she took it at stride. No apologies or how can we fix this. We were charged $33 for two equal orders and a drink. Ok here is my first official review for Ihop at Bruckner blvd, today 2-15-12 @2:30pm So I feel the hostess need more training( they only been open 1 week you can do better) my waitress was wonderful her name: Denine ask for her to be your waitress she has black hair if that helps. Ihop always has specials and may have more then one menu as I had to ask for the 2nd one cause the hostess only give us the regular one you may have to ask. Please take a look at your utensils before using as they may not be 100% clean. My order came out right away only waited a few minutes. The waitress came back a few times to check on the table make sure everything Was Fine. Over all I think the staff needs to put on a smile as they look miserable and Unhappy to be working. I came here for the kids eat for free special. My waiter tells me the kids menu is free. I asked him again while ordering, just to be clear so I can order correctly. He assured me it was fine. So I ordered for both my children from the kids menu, along with ice cream. I get the bill and noticed I was charged for one kids meal, the ice cream and the drinks. I questinoed the waiter, and he says sorry he misinformed me it is free for one kid and one adult and he forgot that the ice cream isnt free either. I just shook my head and like a nice samaritan I paid my bill along with tipping him. Thinking about the situation on my drive home, I decided to call and speak to a manager. The Manager Dre was rude, and said there was nothing he could do and went on to explain to me there special. Decided to visit the IHOP off the Bruckner this morning. Place was nice, service was good, but the food was less than expected! Shoe-string bacon? $2.19 for a side of whole-wheat toast? $3.35 for a glass of juice? Not, Not good! Hopefullythe prices will come down, or the quality and quantity of the meal will go up! The service is horrible. Me and my girlfriend walk in, and the lady is like "just the two of you? have a seat, give me a minute" so we sit down. After 10 minutes and several people going in front of us, she asks us for our name (which she never asked us for after telling us to sit down!). Once we finally sit down, the food takes forever to come even though the restaurant is fairly empty. Once we finally get our food, our hash browns are so hard it's inedible. The eggs taste like something is rotten, the crepes taste like plastic and the country omelette has no bacon. Now the waitress is nowhere to be found. Horrible place. I've been to this IHOP about a dozen times (do you think they'd attract the Park Slope crowd if they changed it to iHop?). If the Bruckner Expressway is jammed up, jump off onto the Boulevard and hope for a parking space at the IHOP. Parking is a huge concern here as the lot fills up very quickly and there are more tables than parking spaces. Currently, the restaurant has limited the number of patrons it can seat, but I'm not quite getting why... it all seems sort of mysterious. There's also a sign that warns people to take care where they put their purses etc. as people apparently steal them right from your booth. The food was basically the same as you can get at any IHOP and if you're new to the East Coast dear god this is a treat... HASH BROWNS! Yes, real shredded hash browns, not the ubiquitous and uniformly awful "home fries" that 99.9% of all East Coast diners serve up. Just that in itself makes the IHOP worth a visit, especially when the alternative is sitting in Hunts Point traffic, waiting to cross a ridiculous and unnecessary drawbridge. read more

I have been frequenting this location since it first opened! At first the service and hospitality was amazing but over the past year it has declined significantly. Today, the food and customer service was unbearable and intolerable. This location has the habit of getting your order wrong and over cooking or under cooking the food. Once you point the issue out they are apologetic and will correct the problem. Today the order was messed up twice (California Omelet) on top of making us wait over an hour for hash browns! When we complained that the order of hash browns were under cooked, they took it back and brought them back burned. When we complained to the Manager (Caesar) he was rude and unapologetic toppled by his whining and complaining about him having a difficult day. He was patronizing and shook us off! Do yourself a favor don't bother with this location and for your sake do not even try the take out section! SMH!!! read more

The service here is awful. Went with a friend to have some breakfast and waited half an hr for cold food. The eggs were undercooked and had the clear white dripping from them , health hazard. The dessert was stale and mid way thru eating the waiter plops the check on the table. He doesn't ask us if the food is ok or if we need anything. Service was bad seemed more like a fast food experience and they have no seating system as to waiters/waitresses taking tables. Three different people approached as to whether we had been helped or not after waiting 15 minutes for coffee. Then you can hear the music and yelling from the kitchen. first, the server Latesha gave us the check earlier while we was still eating, "saying no rush" but she was in a rush to leave, she did not even give us forks or knifes, and didn't even help us, she was just there for a check and that's it. second, while my friend was eating his TBONE STEAK, HE PULLED OUT A PIECE OF LONG BROWN HAIR OUT OF HIS MOUTH WITH THE PIECE OF STEAK ATTACHED TO IT. we told the manager who had a gray sweater, all he said was he could take out 3 dollars from our meal! he couldn't give us our money back because it was already charged, our waitress was kind in the beginning and then didn't even help us with our health code violation situation !!! so basically they did not care about the situation and I have pictures for proof. horrible service. read more

Horrible experience each and every time. First time ordered the steak wrapped in bacon. Steak came cooked on the outside but.raw and mushy in the middle. Wasn't until I bit it that I realized what I was chewing. It was the consistency of gum. The manager (female) said "We wont charge you for it". Didnt offer any alternative meal or discount for the reminder of the bill. Second time, my girlfriend goes to the restroom and the door closes very slowly 80% of the way then SLAMS shut. The door hit her on the back of the heel and made a nice cut. She limped back to the table and asked for the manager. Manager came (black male), we explain what happened and his response was, "You want a bandage or something?". Came back, have us a band-aid and walked off. Never will I spend money here again. Worst of all, they received a B grade on the health inspection. They get 1 star because I can't give them a zero. read more

Ok first off iHop food is always good so we never have an issue with that. However we did have a few issues with the way this place was being run. We were able to get past the sticky tables, we looked pass the fact that we saw someone sweeping one table over from other people eating. But, we could not get over the fact that the waiter WAS TOLD BY HIS MANAGER that "refills were not free." The fact that on the menu it has a free refill section that was being ignored. So we politely ask to see the manager who made a failed attempt at word play to say it was a misunderstanding. She even went so far as to try to put ALL of the blame on an inexperienced staff. They made a few small cut backs my wife and I could spot that made us decide to post this. They cheated us on the specials that are online, only one menu with no diner sides, my wife was given two pancakes instead of the usual three. The oddest thing to me was the fact that the bathroom had one stall but two sinks. There are so many reasons why this is just stupid. It is almost as if this IHOP is closer to the neighborhoods that have more minorities so they are doing unscrupulous things. MY WIFE REALLY WANTED GREEN EGGS & HAM! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE AT NIGHT ! During the morning times it's always super packed & slow & at night the staff and management is just horrible ! the first time I had an issue a friend of mine found a hair in his food, the glasses were dirty with spots, after he got new food after the complaint from the hair the food was sloppily placed, the rest of the food was warmed up again and not remade. When we got the check it was not split as we asked to be done & according to the waitress it couldn't be done which is a lie. When we asked for a manager after complete annoyance she said she was, nothing was solved because she was rude, very incompetent with our frustrations & issues with the service, food & just overall satisfaction. The wait for things to get solved and things to be brought to us was ridiculous, apparently no other manager was present for a second opinion it was horrible. I just left tonight and it took about 10 minutes to get a server, after we ordered maybe another 20 to get our drinks because the waitress took it upon herself to bring the drinks when the food was ready, we were never given silverware so when the food did come we had to wait for her to situate another guest to get her attention to bring us silverware. They were also in the process of closing so in the middle of us eating she came by twice not to ask if we were okay but to ask for the syrup to refill them which to me should be done when guest are gone or to vacant tables. Lastly it took forever to get a check & to go box & for her to come get the check. NEVER again, the staff are just rude, they were singing and joking around in the kitchen, dining hall & lobby instead of worrying about their jobs, it's just horrible. read more
