I attended a Yelp event at the Golden Corral and decided to go back to celebrate my daughter's birthday it seemed like the perfect place for her to try a little bit of everything. When I asked if she wanted to go to a buffet, she was all in! She had an amazing time definitely in her own little La La Land getting to fill her plate with whatever she wanted (and go back for more). The food was good and fresh, and even though it was busy, it didn't feel overwhelming. The service was excellent. We actually had two servers, both super attentive, and the entire staff came over to sing happy birthday to my daughter. They even brought her a slice of cake, which she happily topped with way too much ice cream but hey, it was her day! The overall atmosphere was great very family friendly and full of good energy. First of all the staff are pretty great. Frankie was our server and he was nice and on top of things despite it being really really busy. The food is average buffet fare. To be honest I wasn't expecting much but they had a good variety the only thing missing was maybe Chinese option. The ambiance is basic the music was lumping and it seems people celebrate birthdays here a lot. In November 2024, I visited this location as part of a Yelp Elite Event. I was absolutely sold on revisiting simply because the food was great and the culture of the restaurant seemed so uplifting and fun. Moreover, the management provided attendees with a coupon for 25% off our next visit. It was a no-brainer for me to return then. I decided to stop in on a Saturday evening after a movie in February. It was packed and there was also a private event happening but things seemed to be under control. After a brief wait on the line, I was seated. I was advised that there was a maximum of 90 minutes for dining (if I recall correctly) and asked to wait for my server before going up for food. Unfortunately, my table was dirty, so I was even more eager to see the server. She was super sweet and cleaned it immediately for me, then took my drink order. Soon after, I went up to see what the offerings were looking like. The selection is typical buffet fare however, there are some items like steak and jambalaya being prepared right at the buffet stations. Among my favorites, were the fried chicken (including the honey variety), stuffing, rolls, fried fish, and meatloaf. The condiments and cold salad bar were also pretty good. One thing I would avoid altogether is the mashed potatoes, they were very bland. At the time of my visit, they had a specialty item of jambalaya that I also did not like. To round out my meal, I decided to have dessert. I really like their dessert station. There's pretty much something for everyone - cupcakes, slices of cake, soft serve ice cream, and even cookies! I dived into a slice of vanilla cake and a side of vanilla ice cream, both were delicious! In terms of service, staff were kind and helpful. My server in particular was very sweet and attentive. There is just 1 thing I would suggest for improvement. The establishment has a number of signs around letting folks know to grab a new plate when they go up, but I don't think folks actually are aware. To my pleasure, I had a table right by one of the entrances to the food area, so I saw quite a bit. I saw at least 3 people go up with what I believe were used plates from their table to grab food. That is a recipe for food borne illness. Now I know it may not always be feasible to have staff around to watch people but I think it would be very helpful to give customers a sort of orientation when they are seated. In addition to letting them know they have 90 minutes, let them know about the rules regarding plates. Other than that, things were great. Overall, I'm appreciative of the service and I had a great experience. I'll definitely be returning and I would highly recommend to others. read more

Food options are hit or miss: the fried chicken, honey dipped fried chicken and even the (very spicy) Jamaican Jerk chicken were very good and worth a repeat visit. My sister dragged me all the way from Brooklyn to the Bronx to try Golden Corral. So when you come in you'll order what you want including drinks before sitting. Pay first then eat. I found the prices to be reasonable. They do have alcoholic drinks, which surprised me. My sister and I got frozen drinks that could've been skipped. After you pay them you are seated. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were seated right away. Once seated you can head to the buffet. Whatever drinks ordered will be brought to the table. Cuisine is southern American. There was a fair selection of items and I was definitely full by the end. I wasn't impressed by the dessert options but the ice cream was good. You have given a 90 minute time limit and the place a card on the table that states the time you need to leave. We have been coming to this Golden Corral since it first opened around C-19 days, and somehow this is my first review! From first coming when I was pregnant with our son to now visiting with our son and daughter (toddlers) GC has actually becoming part of our journey as a family in many ways. Although we don't come super often, whenever we do our experience is always a solid one with great customer service from both the hosts and the servers. Everyone is always very pleasant and has a smile on their faces, which makes a difference and probably one of the reasons we frequent this establishment. Golden Corral is known for their assortment of food with lots of options for everyone. The quality is also on par with what you'd expect at a buffet and I've never encountered any issues. There is definitely bang for your buck (especially if you're coming as a hungry group/family lol) and I'd recommend them wholeheartedly. Although people often have a lot to say about the Bronx (I used to be one of them, lol) you will always find a friendly, neighborhood vibe here, with quality food, and great service. I'm really surprised that they gave us the time of an hour to eat. They open the doors at four and they're saying that we have to be out by 5:40 that's Ludacris. There's a lot of disabled veterans veterans from all over the world here thank you for acknowledging them but the time thing got to me. Came in last night at 7:45ish and front counter was super nice. They had the entire front space decorated for the holidays. It was a party of 6 (4 adults 2 kids) and we were charged and sat quickly. Drinks came out as we were at the buffet. Everything was hot, fresh and very delicious. We were especially surprised they were still putting food out at 8:30 even though they closed at 9. It was so dope to see all different types of families, friends and vibes just enjoying their meals. The servers were sweet, fast and friendly. Growing up in the Bronx and realizing how much flack we get it was refreshing to be enjoying ourselves so much. He made our experience a great one Food: the buffet was full with an assortment of goodies, my favorite hands down has to be the steak perfect flavor ! Especially the Carne Asada fell in love. Everything was fresh and tasty. Drinks: I tried the coquito...it wasn't coquito'ing unfortunately but of course I understand they can't prepare it the strong way. It was tasty I would say but I wish I tried the pina colada have to grab that next time. I have been to quite a few Corrals. By far this has been the best. About a month later and I am thinking of making the hour long trip just for lunch on a Saturday. The food stations are not overly large so the trips to the buffet are quick and easy. Strangely enough, this location is the smallest I have been to, yet practically the best use of space. I know what you're thinking - Golden Corral and "five stars" don't always go together. But the service I received from the staff at Golden Corral deserves a positive review. Food was standard Golden Corral fare - a whole bunch of choices, some pretty good options (bourbon chicken was a surprise star) but the grill station went above and beyond. I noticed that they didn't do the sirloin steak grilled to order anymore due to some policy changes, but the cooks made an exception and seared me a flavorful, juicy medium steak. On top of all that, Orlando my server was a gracious, humble, kind and attentive server. At a hands-off service spot like Golden Corral, it's pretty hard to gauge that kind of stuff - but somehow he managed. Sangria was a great recommendation as well which worked nicely. Call my palate whatever you want after this review. All I know is this is the place to be after a long day of work where you either want to interact with no one or act like a fool with a good friend. I just found out that there was a Golden Corral somewhat near me without having to drive 3 hours. So instead me and my boyfriend drove a little over 1 hour to the Bronx location tonight. First and for most. I had an altercation with someone in the parkinglot that is an absolute nightmare to park in. I was next in line to pull into the available spot and a guy drove in front of me and into the spot I was waiting for and then proceeded to pull back out of the spot and purposely kept trying to hit my car with his. Next. I walk in and I pay and as i get to the host stand I ask if I could please not be seated by that group that just walked in because we had a little bit of an issue outside and I don't want anything to transpire in here. She says "oh okay no problem" and then proceeded to sit us 3 tables over from them. Next. As we sit our waitress comes up and says she's going to get get our drinks. Great. I go up to the buffet and get a salad to start. I sit down and our waitress brings over our drinks and says "just so you know the buffet is actually closing in the next couple minutes so your gonna have to go get all your food now and bring it back to the table" Why is staff taking peoples money (mind you, you pay before your even seated) and seating people when they know that the buffet is gonna start shutting down? That should have been the first thing said before even asking how many people were in my boyfriend and i's party. I went up and asked the cashier why she didn't tell me the buffet starts cleaning and closing up for the night in the next 5 minutes, we wouldn't have stayed. Her response was " you got here at 9:07, you had a whole 43 minutes to eat" excuse me? How dare you. I swiped my card at 9:07 by 9:18 I took this photo below. So no.. I had a whole 11 minutes to eat. Let me be honest and clear This establishment I've visited another location many years ago while I was living in Orlando, Florida. At that time it was my very first year in college. I enjoyed every second of that first visit; because It was right around thanksgiving week and it was me and my roommate plus mother. Those was great times... The food, the bathroom, everything was and is clean to the capital C!. I definitely enjoyed my time here as I'm writing this. But I must say.. I am quickly this particular location (which I've been TRYING TO VISIT) since it's close to my homies house (and I've been begging her to go...her LOSS )....aka (my entire family). I really can't say anything bad about this place except for one thing...it's somewhat small a bit cramped plus add more TEA OPTIONS!!!!!! I don't drink alcohol anymore! Also maybe if I'm dining for one I was expecting to pay a few dollars less but whatever it's all good! I have been here a number of times. Service is great and so is the staff. The food was ok not like other Golden Corral in the south which is much bigger and more of a variety to choose from. It is the only one in NY and at times gets very crowded especially in the weekend. Other than that, I cannot complain since the time I have eaten there.
