Every aspect of this visit was very disappointing. We called about 10 mins prior to arriving to see if there was a wait, considering it was about noon on a Sunday, to be told there is no wait. I ordered the 'Smokehouse Combo', which came with 2 eggs (I added American cheese), 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes, and hashbrowns. The pancakes were good, but that's it. My eggs were way overdone and spongy with a cold piece of cheese on top. My hashbrowns were burnt on the top and raw on the bottom. And the sausage... was a hot dog. I literally started laughing out of disappointment when my boyfriend pointed it out. The waitress never checked in or asked if we needed anything, we had to ask for the bill. My family and I have been coming to the I-Hop in Dearborn Hgts for the last 15 years on Thanksgiving for breakfast. Today was no different! We all showed up 10 in all(usually 15 or more) and were greeted cheerfully and seated right away! Our server was great! He seen to all our needs good coffee , drinks and got the food out hot and fast! Cudos to the cooks staff and management for all the good times we have had and service! hopefull 15 more years to come! I've made a better one by myself with one of those waffle makers at a hotel's self serve's continental breakfast bar. The bacon was cold, sorry looking, and burnt. Chicken fried steak- had one tiny teaspoon full of gravy, the waitress recommended adding a side of gravy, and she was right. Would give 0 stars, but our waitress was great. These people were well trained and took good care of me and the other folks I saw. I had a breakfast sampler. It was the sort of meal you expect it you order at five in the morning after drinking hard all night. And the pancakes are great. It's IHOP so, yeah, pancakes. One caution. Covid. The pandemic has made it hard for many restaurants to find help and IHOP is no exception. But if you're coming from from a late night concert or looking to have breakfast for dinner with mediocre expectations, then this is your place. Improve or close... The staff is friendly. But friendly does not make up for a lack of giving a crap. Stating that you are sorry after forgetting to bring our refilled drinks back is great but better if it wasn't obvious you were more interested in chasing the other server around. Two or even three rounds of drinks are nothing and would not even be that much of a problem if larger cups were used and then there would be less refilling. The steak my daughter ordered was great. T-bone and cooked well done as she likes it. Yea I don't like beef jerky steaks but she does and was very happy about that. The eggs were good as well and the pancakes were good. My steak tips were over seasoned but I bet that is common for that dish. The rest of my meal was good. I go out to eat for the service to places like IHOP. Their food is decent to good at best no matter what you order. It will never be amazing WOW holy crap you gotta try this. So when service is lacking it drops the rating fast. When it is inexcusable I won't be back for a very long time or ever. I also watched a bunch of other customers there have various issues with the lack of service. Our waitress service was POOR as hell!! She wrote our oder down then can back two more times to ask what we was having to drink. This is absolutely the most horrible IHOP I've ever gone to. After ordering food online for my family, I arrived & went to pick up. No problem. Get in and there was a miscommunication about the name on the order. The manager takes a deep, nasty sigh & says with MUCH attitude "that makes a BIG difference" and proceeds to roll her eyes & kiss her teeth. Then I mentioned that there were 2 items left from my order. Two hot chocolates. I literally waited five minutes for that. Upon getting home, I see that the bacon is badly burned. I ate it anyway because I can't let [any] bacon go to waste. -Hashbro...oh wait, I didn't get my hashbrowns because the waitress told the cook they weren't well done and asked him to put it back on the grill for me. About TEN minutes later I got my hashbrowns. Well done? Yes. Kinda late in the game? Yes. I hate getting parts of my meal after everything else... especially when it doesn't seem like hashbrowns would take that long to cook a little bit more. The manager did give us us 10% off our bill for the cold/chewey bacon, because I had mentioned it to the waitress (basically told her to tell the cooks it's bad business to send out such cold product... they could have at least microwaved it so I might think it was fresh) and she told her manager. June 2nd. Military discount not honored. Odd behavior. Singled out. Waited 50+minutes for our meal. Our server Moe was wonderful, he let us know that he was 2 days on the job and he was awesome. The one star is due to this location honoring only a portion of the military discount. If you are going to be a participating location for military discounts you should not be able to pick and choose what items on my bill are to be discounted! When asked if that policy was written down and could I see it she stated well it's in our employee handbook. To add to this she then requested to see the bills separate to make sure they were split up to her liking. Very disappointing. Will not be back. If I have not learned anything in this climate, I've definitely learned not to spend money where "I" am not wanted. read more
