Normally I don't like to review chain restaurants and I can't really say I'm a fan of IHOPs, but - this is probably the cleanest and friendliest location I've been to. I don't want to say it, but it's almost like all the IHOPs back home look like trash compared to this one. That's just how it is. I met with some relatives here for breakfast and we had 13 people at our table, and the server handled everything in the best way. She was always "on it" and everything came back as requested. Food was great, and lots to choose from on the menu. I never seem to crave pancakes that much anymore since they fill me up easily, so I got the Denver omelet. So, overall, not a complaint here. I remember eating at this place a decade ago, with some of those relatives of mine. So it was almost like, nothing's changed! Keep it up guys. read more

So last review the restaurant had improved but it's going down hill again in the service department. Today was the second time we walk in and are greeted by an employee telling us it's going to be a 15 minute wait for them to seat us. Odd because there are only 4 tables being occupied and there were atleast four employees working that we can see. Just don't... I feel Ill from eating here. All we talked about our entire meal was how bad it was. My omelette was waaaay over cooked. I couldn't even eat it. I also asked for no butter or cheese and got both. I ended up leaving 80% of my food on the plate. Our server, Edgar, was nice. Even even though he got my order wrong he was still really pleasant and kind. Overall 2 stars is pushing it, the extra star is for Edgar's good attitude. read more

We stopped at I Hop, in Hutchinson, Kansas. This is May 9, 2019. We were seated at a dirty table, no water, and was never asked if we wanted any. My order had the wrong meat. Been in restaurant business so know how hectic it can be. Waiter ,no smile, no greeting, and acted like he would rather be doing anything but what he was doing. I also know, word of mouth, is your best advertisement. Not saying I won't be back but know of one restaurant where this service can be beat. -I'll give them props, my tuscan chicken sandwich was good. And, usually their breakfasts are decent too. -The not so good, our server couldn't remember much of anything. Though, they were very new at the job. Oversalted soups, off tasting ranch dressing....you could probably find somewhere better to eat. -All of the staff were super nice and polite, even though our party was a pain. I am deeply disgusted by this restaurant and for that matter the IHOP chain. My boyfriend up until this afternoon used to order his breakfast every morning when he's on location in this area from this restaurant. Choices are slim in the early mornings in this area and so he has used them even though they have frustrated him over the years. He has had multiple instances where his order hasn't been ready and confusion when he places his omelette order with no sides. If his order is messed up, not ready, or he has to repeat himself 5 times when ordering he is very direct and wants his order corrected, wants staff to listen to him when ordering, etc... He's not one nor should he be to pay for and eat whatever they come up with. He also will tell them if his order is wrong, or if he has had to wait for the exact same order he calls in to pick up at the exact same time every morning outside of congested times. If there is a problem he will voice it out loud and expect it to be corrected. That is one of the things about him that impresses me. He is very clear and direct. Today when ordering over the phone, he got asked if he wanted sides three times with his omelette after answering no he didn't the first time he was asked. He told staff no what don't you get. He did not yell. He picked up his order today, was told to have a nice day, and then later received a call from the district manager (maybe title is region manager) that if he stepped foot on the Hutchinson property again he would be charged with trespassing for the language he has used to staff over the last 2 years. When asked for incidents when his language/behavior has been "unacceptable" to result in being banned, so far as I type this review none have been provided. For a restaurant to accuse a customer of an action that they can't provide incidents of is disturbing. To receive a call telling him that he is not allowed on the property is unbelievable. To have never been asked to leave the property when picking up a phone order over the last two years and then to be called and told he is banned. What kind of restaurant is this? Do they not like him because he's ____? How many other customers have been banned because they are not liked? I will not to be eating at this location or for that matter any of their locations. The only reason I'm giving them a 1 Star is because you have to give at least one to post a review. read more

I was in there at 1 am the store was dead it had 4 maybe 5 tables in there I ordered my food and started talking with my 2 friends I had with me . I live in hutch and the only thing open after 12:30 is basically Ihop. So the nights that I get off and want something besides a hamburger I turn to Ihop. The food is usually great, when the server gets the order right or brings you the correct food. But as a server, the service kills the experience. The last time my husband and I went in the manager and server kept arguing until it escalated into a screaming match at our table. They did both apologize, but continued to say bad things about each other to us. I haven't been back since. read more

Went t9 IHOP in Hutchinson for lunch on Saturday September 21 2019 at 1:30 pm. There is a sign that asks you wait to be seated. 4 of us waited and waited and waited. There were several employees who were walking around and talking to each other there was another group of 6 sitting who were also waiting. The restaurant was nearly empty. Employees looked at us several times but no one bothered to seat us or even sAy just a minute. After waiting several minutes without even being greeted Our group left and went to chick fila across the street. read more

Restaurant was so freaking hot we were sweating. The restaurant was not very busy at 130pm on a Sunday. Our waitress didn't check in with us. We had to sit our water glasses on the edge of the table to get a refill. Never offered refills on tea to husband and son. Food was good which was their only saving grace. We had to ask for syrup. Our silverware was missing a fork. The waitress said "we drink at night when we roll silverware. " wow. read more

Lousy. My server was nice so I left her a good tip. It wasnt her fault she had to work in a place like that. So the whole time we were there people kept trying to pay for their food at the checkout counter only to have to wait, and wait, and wait only to ask someone if they could pay for their food. Honestly I should have just walked out. I go to pay and again waited and waited until there were 5 other people waiting behind me to pay. And the lady charged me more than my ticket said. She said she corrected it but of course why would I believe that?? She did not. I can only hope people read this and not go there. I will not go back. I only gave it one star only because it made me. Ate at IHOP Hutchinson tonight. Food was good -- coffee was almost hot. That is a normal IHOP problem. BUT I am the only customer on the left side of the place, in a booth -- working. Family with two loud kids that push on the seat backs etc -- right behind me. Are the hostesses blind??? I planned on staying awhile but not with a wrestling match and shouting behind me. Went in with three friends late at night. There were 2-3 average size groups and one larger group. It took about 5 minutes to be seated, once we were seated our waitress never returned to our table to get our drink orders. After about twenty minutes of sitting at the table with no service, we decided to leave. We had poor customer service this morning, we came in and waited awhile to get seated. Then we waited awhile to get served. The waitress that was ours was busy with a six party table. Six party table all separate checks. So after waiting, another waitress came over and said she was helping the other waitress, so she could take our drink order only. We ordered coffee. She brought our coffee & apologized for our wait & took our order. While waiting for our food, both the fill in & the assigned waitress came over & apologized again for our service. After we got our food , my husbands food was cold he ate the sausages, then the hash browns, they were cold. When he got to the egg it was cold, so he checked the pancakes they were cold so he called the waitress over & told her about the cold egg & pancake. She then ask him why he didn't tell her sooner, but she would fix it. My husband said never mind. I said "Wow" . Then she said "Wow"! At this point we got up and went up to pay. Our waitress came up to take our money. But wouldn't let us pay. This establishment needs to bring back the hostess & cashier to take care of checks and this whole situation could have been avoided. My husband and i went to IHOP this morning for breakfast. When we got there I went to you use the restroom. It smelled awful. There was poop on the toilet seats, filth on the mirrors, floors, and sink area. Obviously just from neglect. There were no paper towels and the trash was over flowing. I didn't use the bathroom. As i was returning to my seat i noticed the floor that led to the kitchen and the dining area floors were unkempt. I returned to my table and out waitress who was very polite took our drink order. We both has coffee and water. She brought us out drinks and took our food order. I then noticed there was lipstick on my cup. Alot of lipstick. A full set of lips. There was filth around the inner part and the outside of the cup. I then noticed my husbands cup was just as filthy. We sat and waited for about 15 minutes for out server to come back so we could get fresh cups. She walked by a few times very quickly and before we decided to leave she walked once more not acknowledging us or the fact that neither of us had drank any coffee. Both cups were sitting on the edge of the table. She hastily walked by and sat ketchup on the table. We then decided it was time to go. I left note on the table explaining briefly why we left. It understandable to make mistakes but i feel that its being poorly run. I think there are plenty of heath violations. I couldn't not think about how dirty the kitchen probably was. If those cups were that dirty, what will the plates holding my food look like? Do the waitress wash their hands in that bathroom? Ew. Thanks but no thanks. We did call to speak with a manager and was directed to the district manager. read more

I love IHOP, and I've been to quite a few different locations. Every time I have been to this location, I've been frustrated with the service. The food is usually fine, but they often get the order wrong. The service is incredibly slow, and the wait staff doesn't check on your table often. They aren't very accommodating, either. It has deplorable service. The bathrooms are disgusting. If they have to ask if you want syrup with your pancakes, you better say yes, or they leave you with what has been sitting on the table,(never refrigerated or swapped out for fresh) which is not maple, but blueberry, and other flavors that are not very appealing. And when I mean leave you, they do not come back to refill drinks or ask if everything is OK. The scrambled eggs are boxed not fresh. My husband almost gagged on them. Management needs to change hands. The guy doesn't give a hoot about your food or sticky tables, or the cleanliness of the establisment at all. read more

I would never recommend anyone eat at this IHOP it is disgusting and dirty. The night time cooks are amazing but never go during the day cause neither the food or the service is good . The manager has a major attitude and should be trained on how to treat people. They are always out of stuff like really almost everything I wanted they didn't have. I ordered a salad but no ranch dressing. So didn't get that then my daughter got toast but they were out of jelly I think all of our meals we couldn't get something that went with them cause they were out of it . I am writing this exactly 6-months after Doug J. Apparently they do pay attention to the reviews as the service last night was very good--if anything, our waitress almost bothered us asking many times if everything was OK. However, there is a much larger problem that has developed at this IHOP location. They keep the temperature of the dining room at an almost painfully cold level--we are guessing that it was in the low 60's and blowing hard. People at every table were shaking from the cold. One customer had resorted to "wearing" a menu over her head to block out the blowing cold air. The waitress told us that many people have complained, but that the manager refused to make it warmer. The temperature was so cold that our coffee and omlettes cooled down so much that we couldn't eat them (we took them home in a box). When we were paying our bill, we asked to see the manager. He came to the front but was very argumentative with us. He said that nothing could be done for this building because the one thermostat for the entire restaurant is in the kitchen by the grill where there is a lot of heat--hence making the air handling system run on maximum air conditioning. We ask him if he had had professionals come to look at the problem and he said yes (we believe he lied to us). At any rate, he didn't plan to do anything more and basically said that we should just ignore the cold air and eat our meal. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience! read more
