Worst service I've ever had. Food took fourty minutes to come out and one individual in our party never got his food. Tea was hot with no ice and the ice we asked for we never got. Had to ask several times to get a refill. All of the servers were walking around in a daze. The cooks were In the front parking lot taking smoke breaks at least three times while we were there. Don't ask for any condiments cause they will never bring them. The whole bottom of our coffee cup was full of coffee grounds. I seriously thought we were on a hidden camera tv show as it felt like the biggest joke. The manager does not give a crap about the service. I went there for dinner on November 8th, service was excellent, I was treated like a person and not just a customer. Super friendly and helpful! I have strict digestive issues, they had no problem working with my requests and making my food on clean equipment to prevent poisoning. The food was surprisingly delicious!!! The quality of their meat is better than Teddy's Bigger Burgers, Tim's Two, Five Guys, etc. My waitress was Miss Lauryn. Thank you!!! read more

This was our second time at this iHop. The first time, my wife's eggs came out cold, which was a bit of a turn-off. However, we figured to give the place another try. I just read the reviews on this place from previous customers and I can understand their frustrations. I WILL say, however, that during our second time here, the service was MUCH improved (maybe someone at iHop corporate is reading these comments?)! Amanda G. was our server and was a true professional! However, I observed other staff walking around, not seeming to be doing much of anything except yapping with the customers or amongst themselves. I had asked Amanda G. what this one girl's job was supposed to be (as she was not wearing an iHop uniform). Amanda stated that she was "the hostess". Why do you require a hostess at a pancake place? Can't the manager handle that? I got the overall impression that the staff were disgruntled that they were not getting any backing from the IHOP corporation. My wife was a waitress and worked with one of the iHop employees that was there that day. My wife asked (based on her prior experience with this person) Amanda G. if she'd been experiencing missing tips, to which she replied "yes". This is TOTALLY unacceptable, as the waiters & waitresses count on those tips to make a living!! What's worse is that Amanda G. told us that this individual was disciplined by IHOP (i.e. fired), but then was re-hired after threatening IHOP with a lawsuit!! Stand your ground, IHOP!! Back your managers & ensure that your managers are doing their jobs (i.e supervising their staff). If you don't trust their decisions, then you shouldn't hire them to manage your establishments! Amanda G. was the most professional server on the floor that day, and if she should be disciplined/reprimanded/fired over this comment, it will only prove that customer service & satisfaction is at the bottom of your priority list! If anything, Amanda G. should be promoted to be one of your managers. She might not always tell you what you want to hear, but you'll get the true story of what's going on here, which I believe is a big thing that is lacking in this franchise! read more

Don't go here unless you have at least 45 min to an hour to wait for your food. The kitchen staff is so slow, it's unbelievable. The service isn't great either. You have to ask for refills and they don't check on you. The day I was there the manager looked like she was in her pajamas, her grey pants were that wrinkled. The worst experience!!! So we walk in a group of 7 including two toddlers. We were not properly greeted , a worker came from the back and said how many. No, hi how are you just "how many" i did not know she was talking to me. Then she rudely again said "how many " i said 7 and I saw her roll her eyes at me and got the menus. Never said come this way , we just followed. She stoped to talk to another waitress i guess to see which one was going to wait on us. I don't know, but it just left us standing. So we go to our table , we sit and she takes our drink order. Not very nice at all. She left and came back with our drinks. Coffee was given to my father but he needed cream but she left so fast we could not ask for it until she came bake 10min later. We then ordered. We waited 45 min for our food. Two toddlers waiting for breakfast is not fun. She never checked on us while we waited never offered refills . People were being seated beside us and could not even get a waiter to take their drink order. I'm pretty sure it was 20 min before they stoped someone to ask for a drink. Any way back to my table. Food came out not hot , like it was sitting . My dad asked for an extra plate for his pancakes. She comes back with the plate under her arm pit with the plate against her body and hair. So nasty. She said here is your plate . We said we don't want that it's all against your hair and body. She said 'oh yeah' . We refused another plate. I ordered French toast it never came out with the other orders. It did not come until everyone else was done eating. My waitress did not care she was no where insight . After eating we waited about 10-15 until we stopped someone to get our check because our waitress did not come out. The other worker went and got her and the check was thrown on the table. We said well thanks so much !! She then said do you need anything else. We said nope! Went to the cashier and I asked if there was a manager , they said not on the floor there is one cooking in the kitchen. Wow ! Ok then! I will just write my review and contact the main IHOP! This is the only sit down in king George for breakfast the location is great but seems like they need to get better managers and staff or they will run it in the ground more. WORST ihop experience of my life!!! THIS IHOP is making you all look horrid!!! I walk in and it is pretty much empty and it still took a long time to get seated. Various people including the manager looked at us and ignored us. they sat us in an area where the person was going on break, so we were ignored even longer. Finally after asking a few waiters for assistance they sent someone who took our drink order but didn't come back. Waiter across the table from us was too busy counting his tips that they didn't care to pay attention to help us when we asked. they finally took our food order and the guy came back on break and told us that he couldn't finish our table because someone else had started it,. Another server was ANGRY that she had to bring food to our table and started arguing with another server in front of us!! I told her we ordered apple sauce for my kids burger and she got mad and rudely said she was getting it and never came back with the rest of our food. When the food finally came it was bland and mostly burned, our toast was not toasted, the side of bacon we ordered was burned. Ordered a strawberry crepe for my other son and they didn't bring it till the end of food service. never got any jelly for our toast, I asked for milk shakes they were watered down and gross. the servers would come and go so quickly i didn't even get a chance to ask a question. If i didn't have to put one star then i wouldn't. I had asked for water and the first glass was fine and then the second glass that was refilled from the pitcher tasted disgusting! It tasted like stale dish water. We complained about how disgusting it was and they told us that it was just the taste of the pitcher. Our pancakes were cold, we asked for cheese in the eggs and one didn't come with cheese(this is the second time this has happened). We asked for cheese and butter and then the manager asked a separate woman to bring them to us and she only brought butter and forgot about the cheese, we then proceeded to get charged for the cheese. Our waitress Maddie, even though she seemed that she was maybe new she was nice and helpful and tried to fix the problems we had. Needless to say though we will not be coming back to this IHOP at least for a long time. I was an employee at that new Ihop. What a bad place to work. There is favoritism to the younger kids servers are stealing tips off other peoples tables with no consequences what so ever, managers do not have your back, kitchen cant get it together,and management is in way over there head. I have been trying to reach a manager and all I get is laughter and teasing from the kids that answer the phone they have working there. I have yet to speak to a manager. Servers should not be crying at there place of business. If you want slow, bad service..come here! This has been the worse service in an IHOP EVER. We came in party of 4 and a group of people afterward. We had to wait 10 min at the entrance and no one showed up, then we had to ring the bell. After being seated, we waited almost an hour to get our food (burnt pancakes) and never bought the all you can eat pancakes to the table. I went to the new Ihop in King George, Va. on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at a little before 12 noon with my grandson. We were seated shortly where we sat for about an hour with no acknowledgment except by a bus boy, Mark, who checked on us several times. He also checked with a waiter who's name, Wyatt, was on our table but the waiter said he'd been reassigned. Several people came in and sat at tables in front, behind, and beside us, ordered, got their food, ate, and left. After the bus boy talked to a manager, Wyatt came and took our order but someone else finally brought our food after we had been there over an hour. I am diabetic and had to eat before I could leave so we did not get to leave until after 2:00. We love IHOP but the one we usually go to is 30 miles away. I was very disappointed. I am sitting here with my salad 1/4 eaten disgusted that I am actually paying over $10 for this salad. We waited over 30 mins for our food in a place that had 3 other tables. Our waitress is clueless as to what service is and never wrote anything down, which shows because she's forgotten half of everything I've asked for. My clam water oops I mean chowder came out and its separating and has white chunks (I've sent this back because I'm concerned about eating it). She has dropped my salad dressing which she picks up with her hands and puts it on the cleanish table beside us. She does not come back to clean the table or the floor. The manager comes over to our table (we aren't even finished eating) to let us know she is taking the soup off, like she's doing me some kind of favor smh. Went with some friends on Sunday 8/18 around 10. Said about a 15 min wait which was ok. Were are waiting and it's been longer than 15. I looked about 10 tables empty? I was then told they were short on servers. Finally got a table. I've been here many times and this was the WORST! Sorriest looking omelets that I ever seen at a IHOP! I was like is there a new cook? Hey that's not what I ordered and same with my friends. By the time I got my food everyone one done eating. My hubby had to get us water. Never did get my pancakes !! We asked doe the manager. We stopped in on a Saturday at dinner time. We were seated quickly but it went downhill fast. The restaurant was well staffed and not busy. After placing our order we had quite a long wait for our food. When it came we had to ask for things that were missing including all but the eggs on one entire breakfast platter. Who plated just eggs and thought that looked right??? After eating we asked for the check and 2 milkshakes in to go cups for the kids. The milkshakes (aka chocolate milk) came but it took our waitress so long to bring the check our kids finished the shakes and were taken out to wait in the car while I waited for our waitress. She was standing about 15ft from our table just chatting with a coworker. I've never been compelled to just leave a restaurant but this took all I had to remain until the check arrived. Our service was exceptional! We got very delicious, hot food and I love the way the waitress, Jazmine carried herself. I ordered the breakfast sampler and it came out in 10 minutes. The general manager, Dawn Tuggle, came over and introduced herself and asked how our food was. I told her that it was great and that my wife and I would be back soon. The service is terrible and it took 30 minutes to get our food and it was cold, the bacon was raw. I didn't even order bacon, I wanted sausage. My parents went and they got the exact same experience. When I contacted the director of operations with my complaints, that was a joke. Don't go, they don't care about your business. I only got 1tsp of gravy on my biscuits and when they brought me more, it was like water with clumps of flour and by then my biscuits were cold. EVERYTHING WAS TERRIBLE!! I am easy to please and rarely complain, but this was ridiculous. To start off the hostess was MIA for 8 minutes. Two waitresses saw us waiting and one finally tried to assist us and finally the hostess showed up and seated us. There were probably 3 tables full and we were sat at a wet table. My grandmother ordered a soup and breakfast plate. 25 minutes went by and the hostess asked if we needed anything. My grandmother said the service was slow and she was waiting on her soup. 2 minutes later our waitress came out, slapped the soup on the table without saying anything and walked away. Not only was the soup cold but the bowl was freezing too. I wonder how she would feel if someone treated her grandmother like that. Our food came out probably 40 minutes if not longer after we ordered and everything was luke warm. I got chicken nuggets for my daughter. They gave us ONE chicken tender and i guess what you would call a chicken nugget. I wish i took a picture it was just a piece of fried batter. We only had our food for a few minutes and was already given the check. The food is good. But the service is consistently horrible. I have been to the IHOP in Dahlgren Virginia a couple dozen times now. I haven't had a good waiter/waitress yet. They don't hustle. I mean you get what you order, but your going to wait for it. Nothing happens with your order until the cook gets it. First you wait to be seated. Because nobody knows you came in the front door. And the servers are in the back. (No bell back there). And this happens 9 out of every 10 times I go. Then I order a drink and wait again. Then the order is placed and here we go again. And next was my favorite part. I looked at my tray of food for over 10 minutes last Thursday in the kitchen. It just needed to be carried to me. I could see it! Great place to meet up with friends and have a classic IHOP breakfast! So, some of the previous reviews do not match my experience at this IHOP at all. Perhaps they had some issues when first opening, but I've been there four times and had great, friendly, and top-rate attentive service and good food. The restaurant is brand new and has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere with a nice decor. Compared to the IHOP in Fredericksburg which is crowded, extremely noisy, chaotic, and has delivered horrible service (I actually had to walk out once because nobody came to my table and had to wait 45 minutes for a refill order of pancakes) all of the times I've been there over the past two years, this one is a gem! I'm so glad there's another IHOP to go to, because I'd written off the one in Fredericksburg. I have been in the customer service field for 15 years and have NEVER had such deplorable customer service! To start the girl that was suppose to be waiting on us never did another server had to do her job. My mother had to cancel her omelet because after 45 minutes it still hadn't showed up and when our "waitress" finally did bring her omelet the waitress caught an attitude because we had already canceled it. My mother is type 2 diabetic and she had to cancel her food because my 3 week old daughter was getting fussy and we had to leave to take her to see my husband before she went to spend the weekend with my family. We felt as tho we were being discriminated against because another couple of the same nationality as the girl that was suppose to be waiting on us came in after us and got their order long before I got my order.
