Super friendly staff, fast service and always tasty food! Served hot with a smile! My favorite late night meal place!

    Ralphie S.

What's a hungry man to do when he finds out that the power is out at his house? Well, when it's 9:30 pm and you don't want to eat in the dark...I headed to IHOP. It's been at least a decade since I last visited an IHOP and I walked out because they didn't have any pie for a late night dessert. Prior to that was it was young adult memories of sticky tables and wondering "what the hell is a Boysenberry" while admiring the plethora of exotic high fructose corn syrups on the tables. Last night I was the only diner in an empty restaurant save my waitress and her young boy that was spending the evening in a booth with his mama while she was overworked taking my lone order. i felt like I was intruding on their quality bonding time. I mean that's the kind of memories this kid will always remember; sitting in a private booth with coloring books, unlimited french fries and soda and listening to the greatest hits of the '80s blasting from the speakers. Ahh, the high life! My Chicken biscuit sandwich with a cup of gravy and a side of hash browns was pretty average on all fronts. A bit too pricey for the quality but it beats trying to find something in the refrigerator at home, with the light of your cell phone while stressing about holding the door open for too long and then having to throw away all the food that you bought the day before that you will never get to enjoy because of global warming, poor city planning and old growth suburban arbory. That kid don't know how good he's got it, adulting is hard! I took off the top biscuit, poured the gravy over the small chicken filet, doused it in tabasco while covering the hashbrowns with the fancy sea salt grinder that has replaced the decanter of Boysenberry syrup and then a liberal couple of squeezes from the Heinz ketchup bottle at every table and laughed at two of the saddest and smallest pickle chips I've ever seen. I ate slowly to avoid the drive home to darkness and no A/C or fan to sleep with. I would have stayed longer but they still don't have any pie. A waited a decade and they still don't have pie on a 12 page menu for a restaurant that's open 24 hours a day!... WTF! I tipped generously and hoped that mama waitress bought the kid a new toy or book for his next "shift" at IHOP, for me it will probably be another late night power outage before I have the desire to repeat the experience.

I met a group of ladies here for brunch. I got the bourbon bacon jam eggs benedict and they were very tasty. It came with hash browns and they were crispy. The waitress was nice and handled our large table efficiently. We had several requests and separate checks. Yes, I'm sure we'll be back.

there's a hair in the coffee pitcher and on our table the table was sticky all the bacon was rubbery and my sausage links tasted disgusting I asked for over easy eggs and they where fully cooked the only thing good was the pancakes

Our waiter was amazing. The kitchen did a great job meeting our dietary needs. Everything tasted great and my egg was perfectly poached!

The tots were perfectly crispy and the burger was flavorful and life-changing. The place seemed spacious but I didn't take the time to explore. I will do that the next time I'm visiting KC.

I don't typically post reviews like this, but my recent experience with Chicken N Pickle crossed a…read moreline. The service continues to be inconsistent at best--no patio service, long waits, and a general lack of attentiveness--but what's most frustrating is the latest beverage and menu decision. You can no longer order a single glass of wine. Instead, guests are now forced into purchasing a half bottle as the minimum entry point--starting around $25--for a very limited and underwhelming selection (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc... and that's about it). No Pinot Grigio, no variety, no flexibility. Just a forced upsell on mediocre wine in a casual, outdoor setting. Let's be clear: You can order a single beer. You can order a single cocktail. But you cannot order a single glass of wine. In 2026, that's not just outdated--it's completely out of touch. This approach eliminates choice, discourages responsible and casual consumption, and frankly alienates a large portion of your customer base. What if someone wants just one glass? What if they want to try two different wines? That experience is gone. And the reasoning doesn't hold up. If this is about waste or throughput, there are countless modern solutions--by-the-glass preservation systems, or even high-quality boxed options like Black Box Wines that maintain freshness without forcing customers into higher spend. This feels less like a thoughtful strategy and more like a blunt, revenue-driven decision that ignores the guest experience entirely. So here's the question for leadership: Who is making these menu and beverage decisions--and how does this align with the kind of experience you claim to offer? Because from a guest perspective, this isn't hospitality. It's restriction. I'd genuinely like to hear a response from the team on this. Until then, this is a complete veto for me.

When we arrived, it was a little quiet, so we sat at the bar. The two bartenders working were welcoming. One of them asked if we were there to eat, handed us menus, and then let us know what wasn't in stock. It was a little weird that they were out of chicken quarters, pasta salad (or was it potato?), burgers (maybe that's a testament to their popularity), and bacon... Thankfully, the mac & cheese was available, so the mission wasn't a fail. The plus was that it came with a side of fries, and not just any-- they were seasoned sidewinder fries, for those of you who are fans of thicker potatoes. I had the Italian po-boy, which I really enjoyed. I thought they constructed it well, and the spicy relish wasn't too much heat if you're worried about that. It was definitely the right amount of food, too. I was able to clean the plate and not regret the last bite. At this point, they've been open for 8 months, so I think they've worked out the kinks, but we also showed up on a Wednesday night, so service was great and attentive. It might be different on weekends, but I'd come back to try more things on the food menu.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.
