The double dipped Jefferson wings were a hit with my friend. She topped it off with mango habanero sauce and it was delicious. Overall the place was clean and looks like a typical sports bar. My husband, a friend, and I recently had a fantastic dinner at Jefferson's. The service was excellent, our waiter was super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is really cool, too, with dollar bills all over the walls, each one decorated with unique, fun designs. It definitely gives the place a lot of personality. We started with the fried pickles, which were absolutely delicious... hot, crispy, and the perfect appetizer to share. For my main dish, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and it was amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the buffalo sauce had a great kick to it. I love spicy food, and this wrap delivered. The fries I upgraded to were also top notch, perfectly crispy and seasoned. My husband and our friend both got wings. My husband tried the hot buffalo and hot teriyaki, while our friend went with the medium buffalo. They both thought the spice level was a lot milder than the heat chart suggested. The "hot" was more like a mild-to-medium for them. Just out of curiosity, we ordered a side of their turbo sauce, which is supposed to be the spiciest. It had a nice smoky flavor and a bit of a kick, but since it wasn't cooked on the wings, it probably wasn't as hot as it could have been. i never really liked Jefferson's in Larryville, it always seemed to be filled with the worst people. My options for fine dining on a sunday even before a flick at the Screenland were fairly limited, so Jefferson's it is. First off, plenty of parking on a Sunday night, no issues there. The daily food specials seem legit, their beer selection is not terrible, the house Red Ale is not bad, and i like all the wing and wrap options. Jefferson's does not disappoint! I have not had a bad meal here. My favorite is the Guacamole Chicken wrap. It includes a choice of fries, tortilla chips, potato salad, baked beans or coleslaw. Or for an extra charge you can sub tots, curly fries, sweet potato fries or onion rings. You can also add one of their wonderful sauces for dipping (I recommend the Sweet n' sassy) for a small charge of 85¢. If you decorate a dollar bill you get a 1/2 order of their wonderful fried pickles. Some other great menu items are the Double dipped sandwich, Buffalo chicken sandwich (my fave is the turbo charged sauce) and the Philly Cheesesteak. Epic appetizers include Chicken Nachos, Fried mushrooms, and fried jalapeños. Try one of their desserts too. I recommend the Funnel Cake Fries. So, there's a place in North Kansas City I have been meaning to try out for a while now. And yesterday I had the perfect chance to do it. So, I started to look at their menu to see all the good things that they have and there was one menu item that really caught my eye. it's called a Fried Oyster Po'boy, and this is their description of that sandwich...Fresh fried oysters served on a hearth baked hoagie bun with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Remoulade sauce served on the side along with tarter ab cocktail sauce. So, I piled into my car drove to Northtown, walked into a place they called Jefferson's, and found my way to the bar, ordered up a glass of Dunkel and gave them my order and sat back and waited. In just a few moments they brought me out a basket full of Golden Deliciousness. The oysters were fried as perfectly as you can fry an oyster. Tender and juicy and covering that sandwich. I popped one in my mouth, as I started to dress the sandwich with a little bit of cocktail sauce and remoulade sauce. The onion rings were as fresh as fresh could be. I am certain, there is more tequila in a pair of sunglasses, then there is in their margaritas. Tasty burgers and wings await at Jefferson's in North Kansas City. Located along the main drag, at the intersection of Armour Road and Swift, this newly opened sports bar is a good fit for lunch. We stopped in a few weeks ago on a Sunday and were surprised to see how slow the venue was at lunchtime. There is angled parking along the streets outside of the restaurant, plus a few public parking lots within a few blocks. The host welcomed us and looked a bit confused on where to seat us. Guessing this was a new employee. We were offered a table in the bar and promptly got settled in. The business is divided into a bar area and a seated section. About a dozen high-top tables are aound the bar, which is a focal point as you enter the space. Another dozen booths set in the second half of the venue space. D'Andre met us and took a drink order while we reviewed the menu. There are many options to pick from, including, wings, oysters, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The usual bar menu options are there. Oysters is a bit unusual for the type of restaurant but happy hour specials for this item look appealing. We selected a cheeseburger with bacon and tots. The burger was juicy and hot. The garnishes were chilled and refreshing. The tots were perfectly crispy on the outside. We also selected a buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The sauce on the wings mirrored a local barbecue sauce and wasn't as hot as expected. The service is good. Staff are friendly and present throughout the business. There were a handful of patrons in for lunch. With the local professional football team on a bye week, we learned that the turnout for lunch was less than the past few weeks. With great beer specials, this would be a good place to watch a game. The rooms decor is a work in progress. A collection of paper currency lines the lower portions of the walls. Posted near the bar is signage for the weekly food specials. I chose 4 stars for this review because we had a hiccup with a fountain beverage that was wrong and an unusual waxy item found between the garnish of one dish. A southern based chain of 35 or so restaurants has opened their first Missouri location in NKC, although they do have 2 in nearby Lawrence, KS and a now closed location in Olathe. They claim "wings, burgers and oysters" as their subtitle and seem to be gearing themselves toward the BWW and 54th St Grill crowd. The menu also has the basic wraps, and sandwiches.... The space is fairly large and the bar is small with 10 stools. There are the obligatory local sports banners up and the TV's are all tuned to ESPN stations. There was a small line waiting for a table as I was leaving at noon, so they should do well for the NKC lunch rush. I wanted a burger so I ordered the fried pickle burger. I read some of the reviews of the other locations and the fried pickles seemed like a crowd favorite. The burger was good size with lots of fresh garden topping and the fried pickles were lightly battered and covered in a ranchish dressing.
