Even when it's open, the neon 'open' sign does not even light up. It used to be a 'sit down' restaurant but since COVID it's take out only. The exception is if you are a local law enforcement officer. They don't even serve milk shakes anymore. Yet somehow, people come from far and wide to get a Lottaburger. To be honest, it's really not even that great of a burger. They add slaw and a pickle and you can't leave it off because they don't do special orders and that is considered a special order. Leave your plastic and your apps in your vehicle, it's CASH and carry only. If you go, call ahead and order, otherwise on a busy day you'll wait for 20 minutes. A word of advice, if it's Friday at 5p. just forget about it and go to McD's down the street.

That slowly stretched into more like 15 to 20 minutes, but when two seats opened up at the bar, we made a quick executive decision and grabbed them. The bartender checked in fairly quickly, despite being clearly slammed. Once we had their attention, we ordered right away to keep things moving. I went with the classic burger, upgraded with lettuce, mushrooms, grilled onions, and a side of fries, ordered medium. Jeff went with the Smothered Chicken. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and everything hit the bar hot. The burger leaned a little more medium-rare than medium, which honestly worked in my favor. Good flavor, solid burger. The fries were hot and crispy, exactly how I wanted them after a day of travel and packet pickup. No complaints from either of us. Portions were solid, and the prices felt fair for what you get. The only real downside was that initial wait. There isn't much of an entryway to hang out in, and with the cold weather outside, that part wasn't exactly comfortable. That said, the staff was friendly, the service was solid, and the overall experience was a win. Would I go back if I'm in the area again? Yep.
