12.27.24 I've been here several times and I'm happy with this store. Most of the time the service has been very good. There's been a few misses but the majority of times have been positive. They are usually quick with the few exceptions that it took a lengthy amount of time for us to receive our food. It's a hit or miss thing with service on whether or not you get a very good server. There has been a few duds but then again, most of the servers have been winners. The restaurant itself is clean. The bathroom has also been clean which is a plus. It doesn't seem to matter what time I've been here but they're usually busy which is a good sign. I have always been happy with any of the meals I've ordered. I have tried something most times I've visited. My only not great like was only that one of the items was too sweet for my liking for a breakfast item. They always seem to have a different combo deal/special that they offer. There is ample parking because they're located in the mall. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. A big plus is their never ending cup of coffee. You only pay for one coffee but you get unlimited refills. They do serve a solid breakfast and you know what you're getting whether you're here in Connecticut or down in Florida. read more

Best resturaunt in town for the best food pancakes above all and all the best tasty food in my opinion. It's nice to sit down there to a friendly well manored staff that checks on you only if you either ask or signal out to then. they don't intrude at any given moment. We had an amazing breakfast experience at the IHOP in Waterbury. The highlight of our visit was the friendly service provided by Melinda. She was attentive and cheerful and made us feel very welcome, just like she does every time we see her! The ham and cheese omelet and hot coffee we ordered today were served quickly and came out tasty, as always. The cook does a fantastic job making everything that IHOP offers! We also appreciate IHOP's reasonably priced promotions, such as the $7 House Faves deal going on now. It helps people like us who want a filling breakfast but don't have much money to spend. Worst service ever! We walked in and with the entire restaurant 1/2 empty expected to be seated right away, especially on a Wednesday! Instead the manager directed us to a waiting area and said to wait 10 minutes! I told him that we wanted to be seated by the front windows, which were all empty. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My boyfriend and I went to iHop tonight for National Pancake Day where short stacks are $1. National Pancake Day is exciting and important for us since my cat is named Pancake and we both love pancakes. I have been a hostsss and a waitress in a restraurant before so I am very courteous. We get to iHop at 7:45, online said they close at 9, the door says they close at 10. We think we are all good. We walk in and the hostess says "I don't think we are seating anymore." I say, "over two hours before close?" And she walks away to consult someone else. I see her and another waitress in the corner aggressively pointing at us, making faces, and speaking aggressively. The hostess comes back and says they are done seating but we can be the last customers. She said they close at 8:30. I didn't believe that they close at 8:30. What business do you know that closes in 30 minute increments? Also online and the door said otherwise. There were two other tables when we sat down but we were our waitresses only table. We sit down and get menus and ask for water. By this point we felt very uncomfortable and unsafe so we contemplated leaving entirely but opted to say because of the significance of the pancakes. She comes back to take our order and we ask for water once again because she never brought it the first time. I watch her walk directly to the corner to the aggressive waitress and she talks for a good 15 minutes. She eventually brings us our food and once again, we ask for some water. Finally we get our water. We uncomfortably eat, clean up our table a bit, and wait for the check. Finally she says we can go up front to pay so we did and leave. We still tipped over 20%. We finally left at 8:26. I can't get over how awful we were treated and how unwelcome and unsafe we were made to feel. read more

This is my first time ordering from this location since we moved to CT. First off, we chose curbside pick up, called their number multiple times and no one bothered to pick up. My husband instead had to go in the store to pick it up. No apologies from anyone whatsoever. Second, the chocolate chip pancakes have always been my daughter's favorite, it didn't even look like the picture online, it looked like a regular pancake as it looked so pale (see pics). Third, the NY cheesecake pancake sauce was not a lot. I can't help but compare since we've always ordered from Ihop in Marietta, OH and they were always so nice and generous with the sauce. The food was pretty good. I got a crepe combo with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Perfect amount of food. Bacon left a little to be desired, but I can live with it. As a plus, the orange juice wasn't sour from concentrate crap - if it was from concentrate (which I hate) they at least made a concerted effort at making it taste like it was not. The experience already was off the a bad start when the iced coffee tasted like toilet water. Than the food came out. We told the waiter and she got the manager and he was a useless idiot and didn't do anything. He ask "well what do you want me to do about it?" I haven't gone for some time, and it wasn't because I was staying away for any reason, and I offer no excuse for my behavior. I'm here now, so I'm doing this review. I ordered from the 55+ menu because I'm now a silver stud. I had a southern fried steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The price was $8.95. The steak was humongous and oh so good. The mashed potatoes were unremarkable. It's hard to screw up mashed potatoes, but it does happen, but not today. They were just soft enough for my senior teeth. The broccoli was awful though. I left most of it on my plate. My drink was water. It's healthier, and saves me over $2.00 on my bill. My waiter screwed up on my bill by $2.00, but this senior counts my pennies and I noticed. I hope that doesn't happen to often to seniors, so I caution seniors to really pay attention to their bill. IHop can be expensive. I paid over $11.00 with tip and tax, but I loved the meal for the most part. read more

Then told server was manually adding up bill and we could pay by cash or they could take the whole print out of a credit card using old system to run charge later. Didn't feel great about leaving my credit card information in that format given that this will leave my credit card exposed. Still waiting(over 10 minutes), at this point the meal should be on iHop. This IHOP is located in mall so there is plenty of parking and there is an entrance right into the restaurant from the sidewalk. We were greeted and seated within seconds of entering the restaurant and our waitress was over promptly to take our drink order. Drinks came quickly, lunch order taken, and food came out a few minutes later. Grandma and I decided to split a ham and egg sandwich and a philly cheese steak sandwich. Both sandwiches were pretty good but it was the french fries and onion rings that were the stars of our meal. The french fries and onion rings were both tasty and not too greasy. I was shocked when I read the reviews here saying the service was slow, despite a list I was seated in 5 minutes! Our server amanda was amazing, she really helped me narrow down the menu and was keep to make sure we were enjoying our visit. The food came out hot and fresh. The pancakes were fluffy the hash browns were crisp, and I never dare cook any at home when I know how good I can have them here. My friends got the patty melt and the chicken fried steak. Accompanied by the splashes which they said were amazing. I stuck to the orange juice. Overall the people here really care and the food is amazing any time I come. They refresh new species every few months so it's always worth checking out.
