Brussels sprouts (I scooped some on my plate) great portion size and flavor. I wish I could learn to make these at home

The appetizer Brussel sprouts were so amazing. My husband loved his Stanley cup burger and I enjoyed my Pop's Buffalo chicken. Service by Melissa F was amazing. We had substitutions on our meals and everything came out perfect

I've been going to Sliders for years. They were my last stop before COVID and one of the first places I returned to. I've been to almost every location, and none have let me down. There are many beers on tap, plenty of wing flavors, and a sizable menu otherwise. This review focuses on Plantsville, but they're a chain, and each one only differs in looks. You get the same menus everywhere. I got a plate of ten boneless wings with sides. You've seen other places' glorified chicken nuggets, but Sliders' boneless wings are more like chicken tenders. You'll have plenty to take home and reheat in the air fryer. Even the appetizers and sides are executed well! The fries are cooked well. The fried pickles aren't soggy. The salad is just a garden salad, but the apple cider vinaigrette I picked takes it to the next level. I've never had a problem with the service, and their sports bar vibe means there's always something on.

When I have a craving for some wings but don't want to drive to far, I head to sliders. They have a lot of flavors to choose from but I always like the simple buffalo wing. No matter what flavor I choose, I like the traditional wings and get very well done. The wings never disappoint when I go and it is always delicious. Depending what day and time you go, it can be very busy or very slow. The waiter is always friendly and service can be a bit slow at times. But it is understandable. Overall I always have a good time. Can't wait to go back to get more wings.

We used to visit the Sliders in Plantsville allll the time in high school, but once we graduated and went to college we didn't get to come as often. We took a walk down memory lane and came back, and they are killing it! There's several new wing flavors and menu items that caught our eye, and everything we had was fantastic! The nachos were especially great - we always appreciate when there's plenty of toppings and layers of it with no bare chips. Sandwiches, wings, and drinks were all great! They were doing trivia when we were there too. Everything was clean and it was a nice vibe. This visit really reminded us why we always loved Sliders, and we'll definitely be adding it back into our rotation of local places!

Mushroom swiss with sweet potato fries

We stopped by for something quick and easy. We started out with the egg roll appetizer. It was very good. We didn't know what to expect but it was a pleasant surprise. My wife had the mushroom swiss burger and the sweet potato fries. The burger was so big she started out by cutting it in half but then gave in and ate it with a fork and knife. She enjoyed every bite. She said it was very tasty. I had the Flaming Raz bone in wings. I wanted them cooked a little more and they came out perfect. The sauce was very good. It had a ton of flavor and there was plenty to keep dipping in. The blue cheese was cool and tangy. Although there were only four hotter sauces listed in the menu I did not find these too hot. They had a bit of a bite but not overpowering and inedible. I bet I could have eaten another dozen. It would have been way too much but it was like eating potato chips. I could see myself unable to stop. We'll be back for more wings!

Bottom line? Service was slow, food was lukewarm and I was not very impressed at all. Had an early dinner there yesterday and things got off to a real good start when we saw they had $3 Happy Hour beers. That was a Coors Light (16 oz by the way!) for me. The food was another story. I ordered a $3.99 cup of Italian Wedding Soup and $10.99 Steak Sliders The soup was very lukewarm and kind of forgettable. The Steak Sliders took a real long time to make an appearance, well after the other folks at our table had their plates delivered. I had four lukewarm and rather small steak slices that ended up being dwarfed on the slider rolls by the rolls themselves. The curly fries were a disappointment too, they were also lukewarm and were massed together like a miniature deep-fried golden tumbleweed. Seriously, I picked up a single fry and the whole mass levitated up like a marionette on a string. They did have a very cool painting on the wall of the Patriots lined up against the Giants, but instead of lining up on both sides of a football, they lined up between a platter of wings and a pitcher of beer.

$17 for 4 tiny burgers, fries, and no drink is insane. Other than prices this place is decent.

My sons and I are in search for hidden wing gems throughout the state. Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.

She kept conversation going, was quick with the drinks and made sure we got our food order right before the kitchen closed. I came in not knowing the wings are on sale, so I opted in for the garlic Parmesan and the Nashville hot dry rub. These wings are definitely on my top 5 places to go for wings! They were full of meat, flavor and were very crispy! We also got the strawberry limeade which came with sour patch strawberries. I will definitely come back as the vibes were chill and the service was great

Our travels took us to The Groggy Frog and we were thrilled we took the hour drive in the snow. Service: Prompt, Authentic, Laid Back - no corporate pieces of flare (thank goodness). Atmosphere: you had me at hello. Dive bar, watering hole, where everyone goes vibe. Small. Unique. They definitely do not make them like this anymore. Great music and bar noise. Rustic wood. High tops all around. Fantastic. The wings: so far the best hidden gem we have found. Way better than others in Southington I have previously visited and reviewed. Tons of flavors. They also offer wings in 5's, so, if you're like us and want to try a few sauces - you're in a great position until you find your go-to's. We ordered: hot buffalo, buffalo blue, chipotle honey horseradish, teriyaki wasabi, and an order of their fried shrimp tossed in hot buffalo. All hot, crispy, excellent. While all the sauces were good, the hot buffalo and chipotle honey horseradish make the cut for our next visit. We can't wait to be back and try 3-4 other sauces with the 2 we've fallen in love with. Note: I love the blue cheese dressing at places as much as the wings. I have noticed the wing places in Southington serve a thicker (almost spreadable) homemade blue cheese. It was excellent. But because of its thickness, we went through a lot. And, as you may read in my other reviews, I hate the 2oz soufflé cups in a wing place. 4oz minimum please. Only thing I've learned to do better next time - ask for tons of extra napkins. I prefer when they're either stored on the table, or better, have paper towel rolls on the tables at the elite wing joints.

All of the flavors of wings we had were delicious & unique. Definitely try the capn' crunch wings…read morew/ fluff! They have a great draft list & other great options for food on the menu. Staff is very helpful & there's plenty of space to find a seat and hang out and listen to a band or karaoke.
