I've been eyeing this drawer from IKEA for awhile, and when I saw that it was on sale, I knew it was finally time to get it! So my sister and I made that drive all the way out to Frisco for a fast shopping trip. We ate at the cafeteria before shopping. Smoke salmon salad- good. Meatballs- good. Chocolate cake- good. Lunch was good. I love going through IKEA to look at their showrooms, but this was a rush trip so we had to get in and out. Happy my drawer was on sale! Putting the drawer together was a 2 person job. Wasn't too difficult- they're picture instructions. But do know that furniture this cheap isn't meant to last forever. read more

We have been IKEA customers for a number of years, ever since we experienced them in Germany in the early 2000's. We've always enjoyed the experience of walking through the store, looking at all their ideas, and maybe stopping for a meal in the very reasonably priced restaurant. Today we went planning to purchase a wardrobe system with slide-out baskets for our son, who doesn't seem to do well with a dresser. My husband and I had already made a scouting trip to see what might be a good solution, had picked up a product list, and figured out pretty much what we wanted. We went back today, and had a very helpful sales associate assist us with putting together our purchase. This was no easy task, since there were many components, and we had to find just the right size and number of everything. The doors we wanted weren't in stock, but we found an alternate that we liked. This process took about an hour. We then went downstairs to the self-service area, where almost all of these components were supposed to be located. We were extremely disappointment to find that not one, but several, key components were not on the shelves, although the computer upstairs had indicated that they were. An employee checked, and found that one of the most essential components was not only not there, but their supplier was out, and they did not know when they would receive more. In short, a wasted trip, except for the nice lunch. I think we're going to have to give up our cult following of IKEA and find furniture elsewhere. Nowadays you can get good deals elsewhere, if you follow the sales. read more

Come on, it's Ikea. Who doesn't like this place. Although personnel is limited in the area that you pull your items, there really aren't any negatives to this place. If you don't want to pull the items and have the store deliver the items, there's a $40 surcharge which is kinda dumb but if you have a lot of items it could be worth it. Their catalog and website are usually kept up to date, although I find the store has a large selection. But I might just be thinking that without it being in all actuality. When getting a bed, DON'T FORGET YOU NEED THE SLATES TO HOLD UP THE BED. I forget what they call it but it is not included in the price of the bed. It's a metal bar that runs down the middle and you can either get wood slates or "upgraded" metal slates. The metal bar has gotten larger since I bought a bed in college, but the wood slates are definitely much smaller and thinner. The wood option is ~$60 and the metal is above $100 so don't forget to take that into account when searching for beds. Their beds are affordable but with all the add ons so of them have that's not included in the price, they can be deceiving, then it may be better to buy else where. PLUS the beds are ANNOYING to assemble. Bleh. Additionally, their restaurant is pretty legit. All of their meat balls (swedish, turkey, and vegetarian) are all good. The vegetarian meat balls taste like hush puppies tehe. They don't seen to always have the swedish meat balls though. I'm sure you can ask for it though, we just didn't (kinda in a rush). They show restaurant deals and prices on their website too. All pretty very affordably priced. read more

This is the only Ikea I've ever been to and it seems to live up to the hype. Everyone I know has raided this place when setting up their offices and I will too. There are a lot fewer homeless people living inside the store than I expected there to be. read more

OK! This place is like a city itself! It would take me a week to look at everything! I only been there once but MAN! It was busy! I bought a few things from Ikea but I ordered it online. (totally recommend it!) Ikea is HUGE! I mean it's so big that it has it's own restaurant and a kids play area! It's almost like walking into a mall or something! For a moment I thought I was in a mall but then I knew I was going crazy! lol Ikea has literally EVERYTHING! Anything and everything you ever wanted in furniture! It's all there in the city of Ikea! I've bought a lamp and a desk and a bed side table from Ikea and I really love it! It's good quality furniture and it was at a good, reasonable price range. Of course I ordered it online cuz that would just be insane to buy it at the actual store, right? Ikea is nice for a field trip or something but not the best place to do your shopping. lol read more

They have cheap, better, and best categories for almost everything from furniture to home accessories. So pay attention, you get what you pay for, this place is best suited to the savvy shopper. They also have one flat fee delivery service, a good deal if you purchase many and/or large items. I don't get the fascination with the cafeteria though: perhaps it's just the novelty. read more

Customer services sucks, take a long time to give me my order... the guys there was talking and playing while I am waiting for my staff

Worst experience ever. Purchased bathroom vanity, sink, and faucet. Had assistance in the vanity area. I provided the information on the unity I wanted, which as a combination cabinet and sink, plus the faucet, which was stand-alone. The gentleman seemed to be doing great and provide quick assistance in finding the inventory, plugging it into his device and sending me a UPC to my phone. Instructions were that they would pull the product and all I had to do was go to the register. FALSE. At the register, I noticed the price was not what I was expecting. The checkout clerk could not help and sent me to the INFOMATION desk. Waited 15 minutes in line!. At information was informed a the sink had to be picked out by me and not brought out as the original guy stated. He asked me to look at the page sent via text, then scroll down, then tap on an item and, what do you know, buried 4 taps in was a nondescript line stating I had to pick that out. Dude!! Who the F knows to look for that??!! Found sink and headed back to the register. Waited 30 minutes in line!! Finally, after an hour and a half in this cathedral of particleboard and glue, I finally had all my products and was headed home. Excited to put the vanity together I got to work. I read through the instructions, check for all the parts (but not close enough), and proceeded to get to work. With 80% assembled I started on the drawers. I immediately realized I had 3 left drawer slides and 1 right drawer slide. WTF!! The instructions said to call Ikea with any problems (no phone number just the word Ikea.) So I looked up the number and called customer "service". Automated system only. The robot just told me to go online and hung up on me. Tried again and again. No freaking call reps???!! What kind of company is this? At least have me leave my number and call me when a human gets to work. Your freaking store is 45 minutes away. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another thing from this place. read more

I went back to exchange they want to charge me 30% off for open box. I don't think sol!!!! If I ever come back to buy furniture, I have to check every detail of what I purchased from size to color. Awesome place to buy super cheap plants and a few other household goods. Just wish check out was quicker. Are here a couple if nights ago. Had the pot roast nachos and it was good. Needed a little more pot roast and potatoes needed to be cooked more but otherwise alright. What made our experience was the new guy behind the bar. He was cool and engaged us in conversation. Made things that wasn't so good, well good. Will be back again. Might even bring a bunch of my service peeps in for a get together next time. read more

I love how it's set up and it's also not very expensive compared to other stores nearby that area. The food there is in small portions but does not taste bad. Overall a good IKEA to go to! read more

Family Friendly, Love that the kids menu has something other than just fried chicken and fries. If you think you hate Ikea because of the crowds, you need to go on a Tuesday night. It is simply pleasant. We go 2 - 3 times a week just because it's so pleasant and a hassle free place to take the whole family. An IKEA consultant helped me design a raised wall unit for my new home. Their subcontractor assembled and installed the large unit with (mostly) BESTA products. Another of their products, a tv storage cabinet, was comparable to BESTA but larger to hold the tv components. A few months later, in the middle of the night, wall unit fell, damaging the wall, wood floor, adjacent furniture piece, and glass display sculptures which were on the shelves. The subcontractor repaired the wall but left halfway through. He felt IKEA should assume some liability since the tv cabinet should never have been raised off the floor. IKEA asked for pictures which I provided but has done NOTHING to compensate me or repair my new wood floor. They have not replied to my email or phone messages. If my shih tzu or a small child had been crawling underneath, they would have been seriously injured or killed. A new store is being built in Grand Prairie, Texas. Be prepared that they do not stand behind their products, and their tv ads showing safety concern for securing cabinets is not genuine. read more

I love coming here they have so many things and options that you can decorate your home. Prices are good also of course alot of it you have to put together but hey who doesn't love a DYI weekend. :) For the first time we did decided to try their food court. Prices were good on the food. Now the food was really good I was surprised how good it was we tried their chicken cordon bleu and some seasonal vegetables mash potatoes and gravy. If your ever come by you and you get little hungry you should stop by at their food court. read more

Am I the only one that goes here just to eat? SO impressed with the gluten free cakes made with almond flour! The salmon salad is pretty delish too. ...and the furnishings aren't bad either as long as you have a couple hours to fight out the build. read more

They aren't answering calls about placing orders. You can only email if you want to cancel an order. It's a shame they could give people jobs just to answer phones and take orders. read more

nice place to browse and get good ideas for furnishings whether you buy or not. i have purchased both nice, good quality products that last forever and the less expensive items that are priced well for what they are. good, inexpensive meals at the food court and downstairs for snacks. the phone system is lacking, though. they seem to route calls through a central location for all stores. when i called a local number, the message said to call the central number for customer support, so i called that, got cut off once and then on the second call, the agent had to put me on hold to contact the store to answer my question. not that much time wasted, but it seems like it could be handled better. maybe it makes budgetary sense on the cost side... read more

Oh IKEA. This location is nice once you figure out the layout. They offer a generous and hassle free return policy, have surprisingly good food in the cafeteria, try to give back to the environment, and the furniture is okay. Staff is sometimes hard to locate and the cafeteria tables are usually full of crumbs by dinner time. They do their best though! Highly recommend the batteries, cookware, and cheap patio furniture. DO NOT COME HERE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. read more

Shout out to Marty! IKEA is a maze of madness. Through that madness you get great deals and cool furniture. As we were collecting our share of cool kitchen counter tops Barbara took great care of us. She helped us walk through design questions, layout, and other questions. She set up our invoice and we paid with her in the kitchen area. When we finally got to the point where we pick up our counter tops we noticed we had some things in our invoice we didn't need and 1 thing we had on our order was actually out of stock! Marty down in returns was a wizard! This dude genuinely cared about our experience. He got us squared away and treated us very fairly in exchanging and returning. Great job! read more

If affordable furniture is what you want, IKEA is the place. Personally I don't feel the quality suffers as bad as everyone else does, just take care of it. It's always fun to walk the show room and see what's new. The staff is always super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I use the IKEA blue bags for everything, the are only $0.79 so I always get 3-4 every time I go. They are super sturdy and great for carrying laundry around. The furniture lines are super flexible with any sort of home decor, so mixing and matching pieces is really easy. read more

You get what you pay for I purchased three dressers from IKEA. Two had all the parts, the last one was missing a large side piece. That's 2 for 3 so I'm giving IKEA 3 stars. Also the online customer service is pretty much non-existent so that deducts a star. I still have yet to receive a response for my missing part inquiry. I went back in to see if they had a spare part but nope, they're out of stock for the next 4 months! The showroom is quite a walk and set up pretty aesthetically. The food is decent. I love IKEA. There are many things IKEA does right, the first one is that they have staging areas so that you can see what you can do to your space at home. Once you go through the staging area you can get individual items or sets, which are very cheap in price but good quality. A lot of my dishware and bedroom items are from IKEA and I love them. They have survived 6 different moves throughout the last several years and still look good. If you are looking for afford household items definitely go here. You won't be disappointed. Also they have a great snack bar thing that you can get hot dogs, ice cream and drinks. read more

i'm probably just like all of the other fools who swoon over ikea. there's just something special about it. our apartment is full of ikea particle board furniture and odds n ends. maybe i've been had. but they can have me. it's busy, there are usually shrieking children (who should have been dropped off at the childcare facility, which is provided), the quality is what you pay for, it's a sprawling labyrinth, employees are hard to find when you need them, and the notorious ikea food is probably a notch below hospital fare. but for me, all of these things just add to the charm. the showrooms are fun, the marketplace is funner. i can see how the atmosphere is not everyone's cup of tea. if you're an in-and-out shopper who likes to grab what you need and get out asap, you're better off either going elsewhere or placing an order online. (make a note that there's no delivery- if you order online, you still have to pick up the order on-site.) honestly, ikea can be a day trip by itself. don't wear stilettos. some folks think it's a bitch to put together the stuff yourself. and it can be. but hell, make it fun! just the other day, my roommate and i had a race to see who could build their ikea bookshelf the fastest. he won, and i don't understand how, because i really tried my best to sabotage him. oh, and i hope you don't have arthritis, because those hex keys can really make your hand cramp up. it's part of the fun! read more

Go to IKEA they said. You will love it they said. This place will test your faith in humanity. Wanna get up close and have people all in your personal space? If so, then come on a Saturday. You will experience swimming through a tide of shoppers. Be it slow moving old folks, parents pushing strollers, or loud screaming chillrens it's impossible to move around. One does not simply walk through IKEA. Protip: Most of the items in the mock living spaces can be found downstairs in the warehouse space. They need to add a bar, because I would need to be buzzed to the hilt to do that again. Do I really need modern style house fixtures *that* bad? Not this guy. Besides, good luck with those complex instructions in every language 'cept English. Still feel the need to shop? Do it online and skip the human circus. read more

This is a hard review for me, because I hate to admit it, but Ikea has some kick ass stuff for a great price.. Though when you get it home you realize its really cheep and left over wood from the scrap yards.. but that isnt the point.. if you need something that you know will get trashed.. then why not? Like the coffe table or end tables that you use all the time.. but still look hip and modern.. I admit i im a freaking slop at the sofa.. It looks like I live on my sofa.. I have the xbox controller, the apple tv remotes, the food around me, wrappers, magazines, blankets and computers around me for work.. shh dont tell my boss.. and.. well.. I look like a bum from 8am to 8pm at night.. I wear my PJs all night.. so regardless you get the point on how I am around certain things.. :) So I need things I dont feel bad about trashing.. like the coffee table, end tables and rug underneath the sofa... of course I spill food on that all day long.. lol I sound really attractive dont i? lol So.. I have been to the ikea store in Frisco a handfull of times.. but I kinda give up.. I have to work.. my partner has to work.. and we like to do things together.. we all know that women are the real men of the house.. so i wouldnt dare getting anything with out her. So by the time we get there.. its 7ish.. or perhaps 630ish.. and never fails.. They are closing.. WHY?? Why do you all always close on days we go?? Christmas Party was one excuse... Sunday closes early.. Company Meeting about the store.... and etc.. the list goes on.. I give up.. We are rushed to make our decisions and etc.. but on the bright side.. they have cool stuff.. and I can get away with alot of cool things for a really good price.. and the people are really nice and willing to help.. Oh IKEA, it's a crazy place filled with crazy people....but they have such great finds if you can just muster up the courage to go through those doors! If you're one of those who loves IKEA and loves to spend hours browsing the showroom and eating Swedish meatball, stop reading. This isn't for you. Others, read on. Take my advice and avoid this place on the weekend at all cost! At. ALL. Cost. Weeknights aren't much better but you can survive if you have a plan. - Have your member card with you and ready. If you do not have a member card, print one out at the entry kiosk (or any of the other scattered kiosks around the store). This is free and this is how you get their discounts on items throughout the store. You cannot look up your account at the register. - Take in some shopping bags with you to carry out your goods, or find a cart at the end. You have to return the yellow bags and they try to sell you a blue bag, but you do not need an IKEA bag, you just don't. - Avoid the "showroom" if you can! If you're just out for shopping / pick up some cool, low-priced items or specific furniture, just go right into the marketplace and march over to your section! Enter the Market Place at the bottom floor and ignore the trap that is upstairs. - Plan on it taking longer than you plan. It will always take longer. - Don't be fooled by the free coffee offer because they don't have to go cups up in the restaurant. (bummer, but I hear that you can get it to go in the market place, perhaps there outside of the registers). - Know what you want and be realistic with yourself about what you need, as you can easily get carried away. If you don't trust yourself, bring an honest friend or spouse. I'm sure there's more to keep you safe and alive during your trip to IKEA, but I hope that this helps you a little. Saturday. Don't come here on a Saturday. The employees are very friendly, however the amount of rude customers, screaming children & toddlers pushing carts into other customers is overwhelming. The air circulation is also very non-existent, which makes it a claustrophobic person's worst nightmare. I enjoy making a road trip for inexpensive housewares, but to preserve the experience, I probably won't come here again on a Saturday. read more
