I am a big fan of IKEA and have visited many locations. This IKEA is easy to access near Stonebriar Centre. It has a huge parking lot for the large crowds it draws in the Dallas area. It is on par with most IKEA- chaotic layout which is what makes it fun! Lots to discover and so many wonderful products. Helpful employees but increasing the store puts onus on the customer to self serve. There is a food counter as well. I know many who come here to actually eat. read more

What's not to like about IKEA? The store is super spacious, well organized and maintained well. I always take the shortcut door right behind the main staircase to avoid browsing thru the furniture section on the second floor, unless I'm looking for home furnishings. You can always take the elevator or stairs from there to get to the food court, if you need a bite. Love browsing thru the store and end up buying something or the other always :) The food court is awesome with a wide variety of food, beverage and snack options for everyone. There's always value for money with IKEA. Parking lot is huge and the store offers delivery service for a cost. Overall experience has always been great. read more

This review is specific to the cafeteria. The pasta with marinara sauce was solid overall, but nothing that really stood out. The sauce was good and flavorful, just fairly straightforward. My only real complaint was the portion size, which would have been nicer if it was a bit bigger. read more

I use to meet my friends at ikea in Brooklyn just to go on dates and just to walk around the store, not buy anything big just small things here and there in the kitchen/ home small goods area. I love IKEA products and will go back, but customer service needs to improve BIG TIME. First, why are all their checkouts now self checkout? The signage is confusing. I went to an "express checkout" with about $70 worth of items at $1 each. Apparently "express" means "no cash" but not a limitation of items. I was in good company. Next, I picked up an item from the store that I apparently should have picked up from the "self service furniture area" so I wasn't allowed to buy that one. The rude gentleman did tell me how I could go back and fetch it but I was finished shopping and ready to leave. I was focused on NOT becoming a Karen, so he never saw me lose my cool. I thanked him and apologized. THEN I got picked to be a random something and the same man had to come back to my now-packed bags, shuffle through them and rescan 9 items. I'm sure it's a loss prevention measure but good grief! I would have been willing to wait in a longer line for an actual clerk rather than this awkward self check scenario. read more

Came in to celebrate 20 years of IKEA in Frisco, only to be racially profiled to a random security screening. Mind you, none of the other people in the area were "selected" or even bothered. Why a family with little kids would be best to hold off and embarrass is beyond me. Awful experience and a disappointing way to celebrate. Oh and explaining why we got selected to my child on her birthday was also not pleasant. We skipped the celebration ice cream and will go somewhere else where we are not profiled. read more

Location has tons of efficiently laid out parking. IKEA has implemented really accurate stock lists and slick self checkout lines. It is now no big deal to swing in, grab an essential (or a hot dog), and be out in 5 mins. Really appreciate all the changes IKEA has made over the years to continue to make their products last and their customers happy. read more

I'm visiting family in Texas and we decided we needed to have the IKEA experience since we don't have one in my town. My word, they have everything for your home! We didn't buy anything, but we got some ideas for changing the storage space in our bathroom. We were pretty hungry by the time we finished shopping, so we stopped at their restaurant to try their famous Swedish meatballs. They were pretty good, served with peas, mashed potatoes, gravy, and lingonberry sauce. I liked the drink section, which offered sparkling pear and sparkling lemon among other choices. My side salad was tasty, and they offer other sides if peas or potatoes don't work for you. They also have other menu options, like chicken thighs or salmon, main dish salads, etc. You'll have to wait in line, but it's certainly handy if you still have shopping to do. read more

First time for me to visit an IKEA, although my wife loves the one in Portland, Oregon (closest store to where we live). Since we were in Dallas, I thought we should swing in so she could show me what she has been planning on buying. IKEA is a destination location. It is huge. I had no idea. They have a Swedish food court on the top floor because they know that people will die of starvation by the time they finish navigating this place. I'm pretty sure more people have been lost to the depths of time at IKEA than the entire history of humans in the Bermuda Triangle. The upper floor is laid out really well. It is easy to follow the different categories of rooms and furniture as you walk. However, the layout has you snaking all over the place (to maximize the space) and if you want to see kitchen stuff, for example, you have to walk for a while just to get to that area. And if you want to purchase something from that set up, you have to walk a very long time until you can get downstairs (where the stuff to buy is actually kept) and find it again down there. I can't imagine people actually getting lost here. I'm sure it happens, but there are exit signs everywhere. Problem is, they just point you another exit sign. And another. And another. They really need a way to stop in the middle of it all and take an elevator down to get out halfway. I realize IKEA prefers you see EVERYTHING, but to be more customer friendly, especially to older individuals or those that have difficulty walking, it would be very helpful After nearly two hours meandering through and looking at everything, I was thankful to finally make our one small purchase. Then, I saw a counter with a few food items on the monitors above it. 75 cent hot dogs and some types of expressos for dirt cheap. Score! The hot dog was basic and cheap, but that's fine. My wife got some ice cream in a cup. It is mimicking the Costco experience where you spend a ton of money, but at the end, you get some cheap food. It helps the customer feel like the "won" after potentially spending a bunch of money. It helped me feel like I won and I only bought one thing. IKEA is a neat place, but you better book some time for a visit. You can't stop part way through and trying to find an exit is laughable because there are dozens of exit signs that just lead you to the next exit sign as you must go through the entire maze to get out. There are no shortcuts. The Swedish food was reasonable and good and the little bit we got at the end downstairs helped us to feel like we "won." I have a feeling, based on how excited my wife was as we walked around and she pointed to how everything in the entire building would somehow fit perfectly into our house, that I will be back. Not this location as it is too far away, but if this was the closest IKEA to my home in Oregon, I wouldn't mind it. Just know what you are signing up for before you walk in the door. read more

Oh boy, where do I begin? My husband and I wasted over an hour yesterday speaking to a representative who I will not name because she would probably get fired for this. We showed her the layout of our kitchen, I took all of the measurements, showed her a blueprint of it, etc. She told us that we would need six slabs of countertops, which we promptly bought that day for delivery the next. She gave us the IKEA contractor's direct number because she said it would be cheaper than using IKEA installers. When I called him, he laughed and said that those countertops that we chose would never be able to be installed in our kitchen because of the angles, and anyone working at IKEA would have known that. Well, they didn't! I then had to call up IKEA to get them to cancel the delivery, which was coming that day. Mind you, we are selling our house, and we were supposed to get these installed ASAP! Huge delay now! IKEA said that they would refund me in 7 to 10 days, then I got an email saying 5 to 7 days. Then later that day, I got a call from a flippant representative, saying that they needed all of my credit card information read off to them in order to process a refund, otherwise, they were just going to issue me a store credit, or I could drive all the way back up to the store to get a refund in person! Talk about adding insult to injury! I now have to dispute this charge with my credit card company. I'll never rely on IKEA again, and I never should have to begin with. read more

I'm not exactly sure what mental illness this man has or has not been diagnosed with but these people need to be assessed before they start working here (photo blurred so yelp will not remove) I bought some hinges for a cabinet a week or so prior. They were defective, one of the screws would not go in or out, so I took it into the service desk to see if they could help. The girl with the blue hair told me they can't do anything but I should "purchase a new one, switch these out and return the other ones". I thought that was weird but she told me to do it, so that's what I did. I went to go eat and about 2 hours later I come back to the service desk. The girl with blue hair was gone and this man was here instead. I explained what the girl told me to do and he told me that's now how this works. I told him I thought so as well but that is what she told me to do. Then he starts to tell me the hinges I have are rusted (they aren't, I literally just bought them it was just the screws rubbing on my metal) and he was refusing to do the exchange. I was like okay, then just return the new ones I bought. When I tell you this man, quite literally starting SCREAMING. Screaming at the top of lungs at me. I wish I would have filmed it because it would have gone viral. I'm sure he was stressed because there was a line, and it was wrong of the blue haired girl to tell me to do it this way, but nothing could have remotely warranted his reaction. Honestly it is frightening that you have people working like this here. It makes me wonder how they function in day to day life. Watch out for this one. I was literally wiping saliva off of my face because of how he was screaming at me. I will never step foot into this store because I am genuinely afraid of what this man is capable of. Also he was wearing a mask and it's almost 2025. Enough said. read more

I really love walking around Ikea because they have some really great prices. They also have some pretty awesome floor models in the showroom that can give you inspiration, decoration ideas, and examples on how the products they sell can be used in various scenarios. I can spend hours walking around the models and grabbing inspiration and ideas. My only issue with the showroom is that it's hard to locate staff to help with pricing and questions.   The warehouse is clean, organized, and easy to find what you need if you use the kiosks. However, they don't have enough kiosks available for customers on busy days, which means long waits to use the kiosks. Checkout is self-help, easy to use, and staff is waiting nearby if you need assistance.   The café has some delicious food options at great prices, however, the staff could really use some "happy pills", as they seem very complacent. The tables in the café, also need to be wiped down frequently as customers come and go.   Overall, I definitely recommend this Ikea. You can you get what you need here, and it's a pretty cool experience too. read more

Always a good time. I come here occasionally to get some inspiration. They have plenty of models of different rooms in the house. Today's visit was for the Kitchen. They have about 8 model kitchens to show their kitchen cabinets and setups. I walked away inspired and a lot to talk about with my GC. lol I wish there were more friendly employees around. Stopped in with my 3 grandkids and we had a blast!! It was almost like a play destination for a fun morning. My oldest granddaughter loves to read maps, so we had great fun following the map on the wall and following the arrows on the floor. Then, you can also take a shortcut to get to another shopping area! It's like reading a treasure map! We took the shortcut to Children's Ikea! The gkids had a blast looking at all the bedroom furniture, accessories and toys! They were so well behaved in the store, I let them each pick a stuffed animal. One of the animals even got to be the line leader on the conveyor belt. There is such a great selection of reasonably priced home decor and accessories, I can always find something that I didn't know I needed! read more

Your kitchen department, especially the one who was in the cashier today, April 8, 2023 at around 6pm IS AND HAVE BEEN RUDE!!! (The guy with a beard, a glass and a long hair) This is the second time we visited this place and as I didn't hear the amount said, which I wasn't talking to him, has always given us the rude and condescending responses. If he is tired and studying and giving me tons of excuses why he feels tired, he should might as well quit instead of throwing a tantrum or a rant to the customers who happily buy ikea products! We don't need unnecessary tantrums from people working in ikea to forcefully understand them just because they are tired; while a mother like me who have also no sleep trying to buy things we need as I have to keep my calm for my children to not disrespect him they way he disrespected me! I will make sure this comment will spread out fast! Update: I spoke to Marty, I don't know if he is a supervisor or a manager but he accommodate my incident report. Unfortunately this has been a terrible experience. I have tried ALL DAY to place my order. On each item in my cart, it says "available for delivery" AND "in stock @ Frisco". Yet when attempting to complete my order it will NOT let me get delivery. So I move along to "store pickup", and all I get is a message from EVERY LOCATION saying "not available", just like my delivery request said. When I tried calling, the recording says (basically) "sorry we can't help you". They are also not answering emails unless they are order cancellations. I must start by saying I love IKEA, just not this location. This is a single-story facility, and you have to navigate through all the showrooms before you really start to shop. I had my parents with me, and this turned into a traumatic experience because of how far they had to walk. IKEA needs to stick to the two-story stores where the showrooms are upstairs. Highly decisive, a very quick in-and-out shopper, and NOT a fan of crowded places - especially during COVID - it was a relief to be able to order online and (bit of a wait still but mostly) grab-and-go. I've been to this location 3 times within a 2 week time frame. The cafe/restaurant upstairs is closed but they have food near the checkout line. Their salmon baguette and pear soda is awesome! I've tried the plant based meatballs and mashed potatoes as well. Both are excellent options. In general, I would avoid weekends or plan your trip early when they open to avoid standing in line. Weekdays are probably best to avoid the crowds. Also, I would suggest that you prepare by look at their products online to map out where you want to go. Their app is helpful for locating the items at self service with the Row and Bin numbers too. Pro tip: You can get a free coffee with your free IKEA family member card. If your items are not in stock, you may want to order the items online for $49 flat rate fee. Sometimes, it just easier to have it delivered too. read more

This location is conveniently located just north of Dallas. For those of us who live in Oklahoma who are Ikea-less, this is a great location to swing by either on the way into or out of Dallas. It's an easy 20 minute drive from DFW or 3 hours from OKC. The Frisco area has lots of other shopping (and great hotels, too) in case you can't find what you're looking for at IKEA. You'll find most everything you have come to love about IKEA in this store. The layout is familiar, they have those delish Swedish meatballs, cinnamon rolls, showroom upstairs or you can skip straight to the good stuff in the marketplace downstairs, but don't forget your complementary tea or coffee as an IKEA family member upstairs. It's IKEA. The Swedish market of financial doom. I've literally spent an entire paycheque here and still wanted more, so I'm fairly certain the selection here is adequate. Service is reliable and helpful, and the fact that you can take a break from bankrupting yourself to masticate meatballs is thrilling. To add to this, the fact that everything has a delectable Swedish label in addition to plain English is nice. The prices are more than reasonable and you get a wonderful DIY opportunity once you're done shopping. I've enjoyed doing battle with bookshelves and divans and even assembled a filing cabinet. (No I don't have too much furniture). Also the pleasant feeling of being absolutely overwhelmed by a palacial labyrinth of decorative/functional minutiae is worth the pilgrimage. read more

I was in Texas with my family for Thanksgiving and my parents needed to stop to pick up something from my older sister on our way back to Tulsa. I was totally fine with that because I love IKEA. So I bought a handful of things and several of them were on sale. I didn't realize until I got to the line that I only got the sale price if I had the IKEA card. It was free to sign up for so I was trying to do it but I couldn't get everything to load and it was frustrating. The cashier was so nice and she asked the gentleman behind me if I could use his phone number to get the discount. He was so nice and said absolutely. So I got the discount and saved like 10 bucks.
