We found ourselves at Weir's during an exhaustive (and exhausting) search for a new sofa and loveseat. I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks after repeatedly coming across ones that were too soft, too firm, too big, too small, etc., on a mission to find ones that were just right. Just as other yelpers have pointed out, this store is full of salespeople yet very few showed any interest in us while we meandered through the upstairs and downstairs showrooms. This isn't a problem for me personally because I'd rather browse in peace without the added pressure of being followed and watched like a hawk. As we were walking towards the door, ready to check this place off our list and move on to the next furniture store, an orange-y brown leather sofa caught my eye. My immediate thought was that it might be nice if only it were in another color, then lo and behold I spotted leather swatches nearby in a handful of colors. Suddenly, not one but two different salespeople stopped to offer assistance. After a brief but successful sales pitch, the next thing we knew we were practically skipping out of the store in glee, receipt in hand, having FINALLY found our new sofa and loveseat, which we ordered in black. We were told that it would take about 10 weeks for our furniture to arrive, but it actually only took half that time. The entire delivery process was hassle free. They had openings within the next couple of days with short windows of time. When the delivery guys showed up they were on time and quick but careful while dropping off our pieces. Our new sofa and loveseat look great and feel well manufactured. I haven't noticed any flaws thus far. After they have had some time to get worn in and thoroughly tested by our in home quality control group (i.e. kids) I'll update my review. read more

Weir's Furniture delivery is the absolute worst. I shopped the showroom in Plano and the saleswoman convinced me the chest of drawers there with the shoddy drawers was just an imperfection and assured me that they weren't all made like that. Okay. I bought it along with a mattress and box spring. The delivery day came and it was pouring rain. The guys showed up with wet muddy shoes. I asked them to remove them or I offered them shoe covers to put over their shoes. They declined and then decided to bring out their own shoe covers. Wonderful. I tipped both men $20 each. Then after they left, I realized the drawers didn't work. The middle drawer didn't close all the way and the bottom drawer was stuck. I called customer service and was told a technician would come fix the drawers. We decided to get a replacement instead because this wasn't going to be a short, easy fix and I didn't want someone messing with it in my baby's nursery. The replacement comes and we ended up needing to return the box spring. The guys who showed up -- well, one of them, took the box spring and dragged it down the stairs. There were THREE guys total but only one took down the box spring and hit each stair on the way down. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Then they show me the replacement chest and the drawers were sticking and there was damage to one leg. I declined it. They loaded up and left and did not take the original chest with them. I called customer service and after some back and forth, they said they would call me back and no one did. I finally was able to get it picked up today and they 1) refused to wear shoe covers or remove shoes (whatever, at this point, I just want the furniture gone) 2) the guy was trying to convince my husband that the drawers only open if you open the top drawer first (what is that insanity?!) and 3) when I asked for a receipt for return/proof of pick up like I received for the box spring, the guy told me he didn't have any receipt and they aren't given receipts to give anyone- and that I had to reach out to customer service. I demanded one anyway and he was all of sudden able to go to his truck and procure one for me. Magic. We have spent thousands at Weir's in the past and have recommended this store to family and friends, but this will no longer be the case as their delivery guys are the most incompetent, condescending, and rude people we have dealt with. read more

I will have to think long and hard about shopping at Weirs in the future. As a Christian and as a shopper, this is important to me to spend my money at est. that have great core values. Several years ago, I spent hours with a lady picking out and purchasing furniture for each room of my new home. I purchased for quality, so it was not cheap. Working with a nice lady, we decided to go ahead and get a mattress. She had already spent at least five hours or more with me and we were tired as the store was closing. I went back a couple weeks later and was re-looking to ensure that I wasn't missing anything etc. Here is where last week, I found out where it all went wrong. There is a gentleman named, Tommy Vinings who basically stole some of the young lady's commissions from her. He basically, is a manipulator and a liar because he found out I had spent thousands of dollars with her. He then told me that the mattress I purchased from her was more expensive than a mattress he showed me. He lied and told me that it was less expensive. I found out after pulling the receipts to submit to my insurance company due to a recent fire and it showed the mattress was actually more expensive. Not only that but I found out that he put his name on the ticket, which he said, he was not going to do but he did and then the managers ask the main person who sales if they want to split which she went ahead and did but this seems unfair because she was only in her early 20's and he is much older so of course she is sweet and said, a split was fine. I contacted his manager because Tommy is still at the store. I explained and the manager seemed to feel it was "my opinion" even though the receipt was clear that he basically stole from her, lied to me, and I was overcharged. I really like this store, but I am questioning their Christian values. Because like others have shared about another lady in their reviews. I question her values and honesty as well. I get that times are difficult to find long term help who can make sales but if you are going to attach Christian values behind your name you surely need to ensure that your staff holds values that align with your company. My issue now is do I continue to shop at Weir's, or do I take my need for a new Cali King Mattress, twin daybed mattress, a study sofa and loveseat, and two end tables to another store or do I continue to purchase from Weir's after this discovery. I purchased all my living full set, primary bedroom suite, and patio furniture plus a lot from the market which was a nice haul. The mattress sank in the middle a couple years later which they measured but stated it was a little off in measurement to replace which was silly because it was obvious that the mattress sank more than it should, so Tommy sold me a bad mattress in the first place. The sectional had to be switched out upon arrival several times, and one nightstand for damage. I really think it may be time to try other furniture stores for reasons above, but I will NOT be working with the Plano store. Knox seems to have the better staff as that is where I worked with the sweet lady who unfortunately is no longer there as she was young and has gotten married. Obviously, I am shocked and unhappy about my discoveries. I truly have loved this store since 1999 where I would take the mail to the little shop and get popcorn when I worked for a nearby law firm. We always purchased our furniture from Weirs unless they did not have what we were looking for. Will not be the case any longer. We purchased the Gracie Gravel Sofa and Chaise and it has worn poorly to say the least. Photo attached. After only 7 months the fabric and foam is breaking down prematurely. We asked they allow us to return it and purchase another better quality sofa (we pay the difference) and we were told they would order more foam for the cushions. Foam isn't going to help this! We wanted to sit to try sofas for comfort and size, discuss our preferences between ourselves, etc. I was well aware that if we had any specific questions that he or any other salesman could help. My Mother, my son, and I visited the store today. We were greeted on the first level by a woman who was very friendly. The second floor (clearance area) gave off a very different vibe. Not even once we're we offered any assistance even when it was clear one or two sales associates were not assisting other customers. We were upstairs about 35 minutes unassisted walking from front to back. We were the only minority customers upstairs at the time and I am not saying that is why we were not helped, but the fact remains we were not helped. We even went as far to measure two different couches with my Mother's measuring tape. My recommendation is to treat every customer the same. Greet every customer and ask them if they need help. If all sales associates are assisting other customers inform the customers that you will let your colleagues know and first available will assist. All money is green money. People may not look the part but they may have more money than they look like they have. What is that age old saying: do not judge a book by its cover. If that was not the case then I recommend Weir's develop a customer service etiquette so that all feel welcome and wanted ion either floor of the store. On the way out, I kid you not, there were six gentlemen all sitting around a guy at a table in the front when you walk in looking at a computer, I presume. Not one of them looked up or bothered to say " Thanks for stopping in today!" Do, I looked back as I opened the door to leave and provided them with a salutation. Once I delivered it, I did not even bother to look back. I guess they met their sales quota for the day. I will return to Jeff Davis at Weir's - Southlake and purchase my sofa and table from him. I visited him weeks ago and he made the three of us feel like family. We even told Jeff while we were deciding between multiple sofas to feel free to help someone else and he did. He came back to us later and we still were undecided but I told him I would be back. We spent at least an hour with Jeff on and off. He was helping us determine what fabric would be best having a toddler in my home and looked up my favorite couch and ottoman and write them down on the back of his business card -- se the picture. I purchased a sofa in November of last year and paid extra for the extended warrant since it had been on their sales floor. I was told if ANYTHING happened to the sofa, they would come take care of it or replace it. Since it was a white fabric, I kept it covered with a blanket so it would stay looking nice since we use it everyday. Earlier in May I took the cover off to launder it and saw an area on the armrest that was coming unraveled. Weirs sent a technician out who claimed I damaged it and now they refuse to take care of this and want me to pay $250 to have repaired. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE AND DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTRA WARRANTY ... CLEARLY IT HAS NO VALUE. I had great respect for Weir's in the past but no longer. I will not be shopping again. read more

Bought my new bedroom set!!! It hasn't been delivered or installed, but the purchasing experience was great. A few salespeople said hi, but they didn't nag me to death. I was able to explore the entire store at my own pace and re-connected with the first person who said hello. The Stanley furniture we bought looks to be solid, attractive and is exactly what I wanted. We took advantage of the spend $1K, get $100 off deal, but it did not include the new mattress we bought. Financing is available on most items. When our furniture was delivered, they did a great job setting up. The modern selection, solid quality and good pricing will bring me back there. read more

I have been a customer of Weirs for over 30 years. No longer. In July, 2024, my wife and I bought a leather sofa from Weirs. After a few weeks we noticed a small whole in the sofa. We did not notice it when it was first delivered. No problem. After all, Weirs is a reputable company and we had purchased the insurance from Weirs to cover the costs of such damage. Everything should be fine. Right? Wrong. We were told by the insurance company that they did not cover such damage. We appealed to Weirs for help. The insurance company reversed and said that they would make the repair. But it would be 14-16 weeks before the repair "could" be made! Obviously, this is a delay tactic. We are shocked that Weirs would sell us a "leather" product that was either damaged upon delivery or is so paper-thin that it's impractical for daily use. We are even more shocked that Weirs would push a scam insurance product on its customers. Sadly we will be forced to get our attorney involved. read more

Called in to check inventory about a certain bedroom set I found online. Was connected to one of their sales reps, Lisa. Lisa immediately sent photos and prices of each piece because they were not shown online (didn't have to do this). We came into the store to see the set in person around 5:15pm. Lisa got off at 5:30pm but stayed until about 7pm so we could workout all the financing and pick out a mattress too. Lisa was the best, she did everything we wanted and more. I bought a sofa at Weirs Furniture in March 2021, it was $2000. Three months later I called about the cushion on the back of sofa (they are removable). The cushions's filling bends forward and the filling inside creates bulges if someone sits there. They sent a service man out who told me there was nothing wrong, it was my job to daily unzip cushion and reshape the filling. He bluntly said they wouldn't do anything, When I called the store after the service man left. The woman in Customer Surface told me after I complained that I spent $2000, I'm 68, I've bought a lot of sofas for less. I can't believe that I should have to do this week (I've always done this weekly, flipping cushions). She said, "Well, you know they don't make them as good as they used to!" This is a beautiful store. However, most of their furniture is a very heavy look. We were looking for a coffee table with storage and they only had two options for us. While they were both nice, they were chunkier than what we were looking for. The employees here are not helpful. They stand around talking to each other in groups rather than wandering around helping customers. At one point one of the groups of employees got pretty loud with their discussion and next thing you know we heard a crash. Guess they were having a lot of fun because they broke a lamp. Overall a decent place to find heavy furniture styles. Dont expect good customer service though. read more

I asked if I could exchange it for another color (they had two more on the floor). They said no. They said if they did it for me, it would be unfair to their other customers. I previously purchased a patio furniture set from one of the big box stores. Delivery was a few weeks out. I received an email stating all pieces had been delayed 2 months. Itv was so frustrating I canceled the order. Then I remembered the AWESOME experience I had earlier this month at the Plano Weirs when Maddie helped me with ordering some lounge chairs. I decided to go back to Weirs and look at their patio sets. I made sure to ask for Maddie and she did not disappoint. Maddie took so much time taking with me about the different styles, my preferences, etc. She even checked the system on 2 different occasions to see if a particular set was in stock. I was there quite some time trying out different chairs and couches, but never felt like I was being a bother. While I would have had no problem waking away to think about it I did decide to go ahead and purchase a full patio set, including a cantilever umbrella (btw....Maddie showed me how the umbrella worked so I wouldn't have any trouble when it was delivered). Today was my 3rd purchase from Weirs, I'll definitely be back (once I pay off my patio set...lol) and I hope Maddie is still there so I can work with her again. I've purchased quite a but of furniture over the last 5 years and while looking at another store when I wentvto buy a leather (or so I was told after asking the specific question that is was leather) found out it was NOT leather but a blend. had the worst experience when I purchased a sofa, love seat and recliner from Weirs in Plano. My total purchase of $7100 which was delivered on 08/08/24 included a recliner. I noticed the item delivered had a blistered seat (see photo) and popcorn between the seats. I called the store within a few hours of delivery and informed the sales person of the damage and indicated that I wanted to return the recliner. She informed me that the item was a floor sample and not returnable. No one told me the item was not returnable and additionally that the item was used. The blisters on the seat and popcorn did not appear miraculously. The sales person was going to discuss the matter with the store manager and get back with me. The store manager called back and reiterated the item was non returnable. Now a word about the invoice - the invoice contains a whole section on return procedures and if this item was non returnable they should have struck off the section or marked it void. At no time was I informed the item was used. Today 8/924, the VP called reiterated the same thing as the manager. And later said they would accept the item back with a 25% restocking fee plus a $99 pickup fee. By my calculations this would amount to close to $400 for an item that was used, damaged and an item I barely had for 4 hours. The VP flatly refused to refund or even issue a store credit. Be careful when you purchase from this store. I am demanding a full refund read more

I have bought multiple items from here in the past. The employees are pleasant for the most part. If you are looking to buy something, CJ is the man you need to talk to! He is very knowledgeable and helpful in finding exactly what you want. This location has a relatively large outlet selection on the second floor. It also has a small shop with cute home decor and items that could be gifts for birthdays or weddings. At Christmas time, they also have cute decor and ornaments. I bought the furniture protection ($120) since it covers a lot of mishaps (almost anything besides an animal chewing it) and my furniture was light in color. read more

We went Labor Day and wasn't sure what to expect. All the staff were so nice. Not super crowded. Everyone was social distancing and wearing masks. We were shopping for a desk and found one upstairs. C. J. was so nice and helpful. Took measurements for us and explained the delivery process. Wrote everything down on his card. He was so patient and answered all our questions. We had to go home and measure to know if the desk would fit and he was so good about not pressuring us into buying but explained that we could call the order in the next day to him. However, I can say when I received a response telling me that the CEO would like to discuss the issues, I was skeptical and impressed. Was it a marketing play or a true gesture to resolving our frustration? In my original post I stated the poor customer service and attitude starts from the top. If that is a true statement then I totally got it wrong with these guys. The very next day the CEO reached out to us offering his sincere apologies for what has transpired. I knew it was not the company's fault, but how it was handled was a different story. As of today he has reached out to us twice with an update on our furniture. We had many pieces of furniture delivered along with 2 lamps that where over 500.00. One of the lamp shades came smashed and we pointed it out to the delivery guy. They took picture and said customer service would call about getting it switched out the next day. One week went by so I decided to call and now they have told me that they won't replace it because they supposably where not even allowed to deliver them. Along with the delivery guys lieing and saying it was not damaged. The sales rep I bought it from does not work there anymore based off Leondray in customer service. Make sure you get everything in writing if you buy from this company, deny the product if it is damaged or they will screw you like they did me. All we wanted was to switch the lamp shade out to one that wasn't crushed. I will never buy from them again. read more

I have bought many thousands of dollars worth of furniture from weirs, since moving to the dfw area in 2005. mist recently, we purchased around 6,000.00 in home furnishings from Weirs, and have been. sorry everyday afterwards that we chose Weirs .. One of the items we bought was a large sofa and matching oversized chair.. in a short time, the cushions were breaking down and a support board broke in two on the back section of the couch. It took weirs 3 months to finally pick up the couch and a month to say it was fully repaired and ready for delivery .. when it arrived at our home, their were repairs that had not.been completed, and the delivery crew said that the couch Fram would break if they tried to get it into our home. ..so the couch went back to weirs .. now, the staff of weirs in what has become their normal.offensive verbal attacks continues .. lies, lies and more.lues .. I cluding their warehouse manager, Shawn, lying on the ohinr just yesterday saying that the board on the couch, the original reason they picked up the sofa, was in fact never broken ...just vame loose.. it is a amazing considering the fact that they sent a technician out to our home prior to picking up the site who confirmed the broken piece or pieces of wood on the interior of the sofa.. the sofa now sits in their warehouse and we sit on the floor in our home ... Beware .. if you buy from. One of the lady employees there was NOT professional at all!! First of all you do NOT talk down to your employees in front of customers! That's a big no no for me. She was a black lady, she had called for a guy to help someone with recliners. When he walked up he asked he where they well she said theirs no one wanting help with that. So he looked at her and said why did you call me then? She said don't worry about that I'm the one that pays you don't ask questions. I hate people like her!!! What was she trying to prove? That didn't impress me at all. Will not go back just what I heard from her!! You don't respect your employees your sure not going to respect you customers. I will no longer shop here! As a Dallas designer I have been confident sending many of my clients to Weirs over the last 22 years. I prefer Sue Mcginnis in the Plano store. She takes great care of my clients. Recently, one of my clients had her home burn.. after restoration she headed to Weirs and purchased staples.. a king tempurpedic bed, 2 sofas, a queen bed and some other core pieces we had discussed... big mistake she purchase her second sofa from the spring valley store without me... the sofa was third rate, it was $1500...when the cushions sagged and didn't refluff she unzipped to find all loose stuffing! I went back to the store with my client on Spring Valley and spoke to store manager and customer service manager letting them know we want to return and buy a much better sofa which was in the $3500 dollar range, or a weirs calls it "best" collection. They said ok, however the return carried a 25% penalty! The sofa had been in the home a few weeks ( a pristine home) It was sold to her by an associate who did NOT disclose what a "poorly made, cheap " sofa this was. (They, Weirs) classify this as "good" not "better or best"... I have worked w this client over 30 years and she has purchased many pieces from Weirs during that period, as have her friends and children, grandchildren etc. This woman had recently watched her home burn, waited a year for the rebuild, she is in her 70s and just wants to be resettled. She wants to be home. The Manager Moe, and customer service manager Chris didn't care. They gave her false hope, were slow to respond, promised her a return or some kind of solution w/ no penalty as long as she purchased replacement piece from them. Within hours Chris reversed that decision, with no reason other than it came from the highest source/executive. I have kept all of these emails and correspondence as a reminder of how NOT to treat a client. I asked to have this sent to the CEO Mark Moore. The management said it was his, the CEOs decision to treat this honest and reasonable request Negatively. Btw, once again, the sofa was absolutely pristine! So after shopping there w clients over 20 years and seeing the quality, or lack of quality in both the merchandise AND SALES STAFF AT THE SPRING VALLEY LOCATION....I bid you good bye! I will miss the professionalism and customer care from both Sue Mcginnis at Plano and Richard upstairs at the same location, but there are soooo many other places to shop. They have nice furniture and pretty fair deals. But beware of the protection program that they offer. They will tell you that you'll be able to get your chairs or anything cloth cleaned at any point in time under the protection plan but there are several limitations. Each time I have put in a claim it has been denied. Buyer beware do not get the protection program. They hook you in stating that if you do not use the program you'll have a store credit at the end of the terms. I believe this is just a way to get people to return and spend more money. read more

The salespeople at Weirs appear very helpful until you make a special order purchase. Then, they ring up your order without specific details, so if your item comes in wrong, you are then left "holding the bag". Since they are so "sweet" and say they live by their "Christian" beliefs, why would you ever question them. WELL, you'd better get all details in writing, because they do no live by "Christian" ethics at all. If you don't get exactly what you ordered, suddenly you are a liar, they are right, and too bad. I purchased bed but they didn't install and set up even sales man informed us they can do it. We are waiting for delivery over a month and we ended up returned furniture due to they can not set up. Crazy stupid reason. Sales person just wanted to sell and no follow up on this case. read more

I love Weir's. I LOVE them. Their furniture is lovely with styles that run the gamut, their prices are reasonable in that they undercut a lot of their competition for the same pieces (do your homework!), the salespeople there are refined (huge plus for me), everything about the post-purchase process goes down just how you are told, they work with you if you're in a middle-of-a-move bind - which has happened to me - and if you want something that isn't on the floor, they will find it and order it for you. I ordered my coffee table this way, and the salesman knocked off 19% off without any prompting from me. I'm a bulldog at negotiations, raring to go, and time & again Weir's just takes the wind right out of my sails, haha. It's a genius business approach. Ah, and even the delivery guys are sweet. I'm sitting here thinking of a critique about them I could throw in, and I'm at a loss. Sorry. A throw-in about their customer service: I wish all furniture salespeople would go to Weir's School of Sales because this is how it's done: a quick "Hi/do you need help?", then you are invisible to them unless you need them. At other furniture places, I'm accosted at the door before my aviators are even off - then I'm followed allllll around the store with questions I won't answer right up until I'm out of there. I can't even concentrate on looking at the furniture. This is never the case at Weir's - and it's why I keep heading back there. I go where I'm fed; it's just that simple.
