The reception staff can seem a bit salty, but they have an incredibly challenging job so cut them a bit of slack! If you are kind to them, they will treat you well. The wait time is never too long. Dr. Young, Leah, and the entire team always listen and treat me with dignity and compassion. I've certainly not been the easiest patient to deal with at times, but their care for me is first rate. I have honestly NEVER had an issue with anything there. Bravo.

When we left the massage parlor we had to get to the other side of a busy highway by going up the stairs, crossing an overhead walkway & down the stairs on the other side of the road. When I took the first step down my left knee popped & pain shot through my leg (so much for an awesome massage). Anyway my knee has been in an up and down cycle. Lately it has been bothering me & creating enough pain to want to go see an orthopedic doctor. I called up Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) After talking to my nephew (who use to work for IBJI in Gurnee I called IBJI @ 9am. Amazing I had an appointment @ 10am. This IBJI is located @ 9000 Waukegan Road where ABT use to be located. I scheduled an appointment w/Dr Raab an orthopedic surgeon. Kelly his Nurse Practitioner came in and assessed the situation. They took me in to get an X-ray of my knee & brought me back to the exam room. After waiting for a while Dr Rabb came in examined my leg. After examining my leg he noticed swelling on the knee but and told me there was liquid on my knee joint. He then proceeded to extract the liquid & give me a shot of cortisone which greatly reduced the swelling & pain. I was told to get a knee compression sock which really helps to further stabilize my knee. Both Dr Raab & Kelly were very friendly & personable making the visit more enjoyable. The best part is Dr Raab didn't feel that I needed to have knee surgery yet.

Dr. Goldstein is an amazing physician. My fiancé was scheduled for double hip replacement surgery…read morein June. However, before surgery we found out he had an infection in his left hip. Dr. Goldstein was patient and very thorough. There were many complications due to my fiancé illness. But I can tell you today that he's walking without assistance of a cane, and without a limp, and he's able to return to work without any restrictions! Dr. Goldstein's assistant (Jessica) is the best. I've called her I don't know how many times during this ordeal and she always followed up with us. I just want to thank you both for your kindness, compassion and professionalism. My doctor said that I needed to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon because of pain in my knee (I am a very…read moreathletic guy and the pain was getting in the way of my working out) and gave me a list of orthopedics... When I asked my doctor; "Who would you send your brother, father or wife to?," He said; "Bradley Dunlap at Evanston Hospital." Just a FYI, Dr Dunlap has relocated his main office to the new Ambulatory Building at Skokie Hospital. One more thing, I had previously had both my left and right knee worked on by other surgeons earlier in my life, so I have a benchmark and neither of these surgeons were worthy of a review, but Dr. Bradley Dunlap is much different both demeanor wise and option wise.... Long story short, after doing an MRI on my knee, Dr Dunlap informed me that, should I opt for surgery,based on my MRI, I would need a knee replacement... And, instead of "scheduling the surgery" Dr Dunlap gave me the option of a cortisone shot stating that it might relieve the pain temporarily or for an extended period of time, but it would be worth the try to put off surgery... As it turned out, the cortisone worked...on the left knee... Several years later, my right knee acted up just before my skiing vacation and I was back in Dr Dunlap's office... Dr Dunlap informed me that it was probably a meniscal tear which would require surgery... Again, long story short, rather than waste time, money and lose my skiing vacation, Dr. Dunlap offered me a cortisone shot in the right knee and told me that it would probably need surgery, sooner than later, and informed me that this was the last cortisone shot I could get in the right knee.... So, of course, I took the shot and had a fabulous skiing vacation... Well, as you can guess, I procrastinated a year till this last November (2013); and the pain came back, but this time; severe! When I told the doctor I had another skiing vacation planned, he agreed to give me one more cortisone shot with an agreement that I would get an MRI quickly to determine the issue...He advised me to limit my exercising to reduce my swelling before the ski outing and even provided some pain relief medication to tide me over... I wound up NOT missing my skiing vacation and had limited pain thereafter... I just recently had the knee surgery and that is why I am highly recommending Dr. Bradley Dunlap! If you read my other reviews, you would know that I only rate the best, I have no time to review losers or mediocre, that is why I have a limited amount of reviews posted on Yelp So, as I do in my other reviews, I highly recommend Dr Dunlap (as compared to two previous surgeon); and here's why: -I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the Skokie location waiting room for my appointments, most of the time, less than 5 minutes, even if I show up early! -After the MRI, when I asked the doctor why the pain occurs, he went out of the way to take out a knee model and show me exactly where the tear was and demonstrated the mechanics of how the pain was occurring which no surgeon ever took the time out to do in my two previous procedures! -I was VERY WELL INFORMED BEFORE SURGERY AS TO WHAT TO EXPECT and was much better prepared for pre and post operation preparation and follow-through! -Better yet, when I forgot half of what I was told the day before surgery, Dr. Dunlap's nurse, Sylvia, returned my call quickly, answered all my questions and treated me with the utmost of respect! -Check-in and recovery at the hospital was seamless! -7 days, post procedure, doctor showed me very clear images of my knee surgery showing me the initial damage, and then several stages of the tear removal, followed by the final result. Dr Dunlap also took the time to show me images of the other side of the same knee to reassure me that the health of the knee on that side was impressively pristine! I highly recommend you consider Dr Bradley Dunlap, I would recommend him to a close friend or relative; he is a superior doctor with excellent soft skills and his staff is exemplary!

Dr. Ryan Harold was my surgeon and I was very happy with his work as well as his general demeanor, manners, and professionalism. He even let me have my music of choice from their Pandora app in the operating room, and he did the surgery to ACDC, yeah! The receptionist and all of the physician assistants and nurses I encountered were friendly, competent, and professional. It might not appear so from the exterior of their big building, but the operating area of this practice is pretty much a hospital setting, and it's a large and busy one. Before the surgery, all of the required forms and health surveys were sent out on a timely and clear basis via both text messaging and email. I was also notified before the surgery date of my expected post insurance bill. I was impressed and pleased with my experience here, and thank you!

I said I was talking to husband you weren't even here.  He said exactly why are you here if you have all the answers.  He left would come back if didn't talk.  Claims he doesn't have to answer questions, only he needs to know as he's best in world.  If we said one word to each other he shouted & left again saying he'll come back when we done talking as we must feel the husband has the answers. A childish  display everyone is treated to.  I told him off in front of group of interns that he was arrogant and if he knew what he was doing he would not be afraid to explain.  He continued pompous braying in loud voice & left again never came back.  This is why he's so far behind in appointments doing everything to fake his importance intimidating his paying customers.   He claimed nothing wrong with shoulder just needs sling at his age, refused to look at ER x-rays as useless, showing break.  Next day we cancelled appointment assistant made & were begged not to cancel as he would be sooo mad.  HA what an a**. Went to new North Shore Orthopedics division of IBJI.  Were told Dr so bad he was not invited to transfer to new place with rest.  Found arm broken at shoulder & bone slid up alongside into shoulder bones.  Husband in severe pain over a month, needed large plate.  Why has this fool not been suspended instead of ignored. Told his interns never to act like him no one else has ever done that.  They readily agreed. The famous tortured woman documentary told later how he wanted to remove both her arms & legs! Another specialist said no not at all.  So he removed her toes & part feet.  Had she seen another surgeon like ours, probably would have kept toes.  Why would he be allowed near her life threatening injuries.

I have been seeing Dr. G for a few years for reoccurring knee issues. I was sad in 2012 when I had to switch him out because I had to be seen quickly and I didn't want to fit him in. His back up doc was a great replacement but Dr. G has the best bedside manner and has been painfully truthfully with my diagnosis and how I can get better. Now I insist to only see him. He'll fit me in therefore I should be able to fit him into my schedule as well. I've seen him a few times already in 2013 and honestly feel so much better knowing that I'm getting the best possible care. He's honest and kind and speaks to me as if we're on the same level, as if! He's the best. If you need anyone to care for your ortho needs, Dr. G is the way to go.

I've had 3 experiences in the past with Dr. Michael Lewis. He did two carpal tunnel releases, one…read moreof which resulted in nerve damage due to having my bandage wrapped too tight. The second carpal tunnel release, I requested a local block, so I could stay awake and make sure that didn't happen again. Years later, I saw him for a knee injury at IBJI in Morton Grove. He was not interested in hearing my description of my injury, and was interrupted by what sounded like a personal call from some financial advisor (his broker? his bookie?) He left the room to take the call and 45 minutes later, I looked out of the exam room to see him in with another patient. I asked the nurse to get him to return and when he did, he never even examined my knee, but was quick to offer a artificial synovial fluid injection as the solution to my pain and unstable patella. I don't know how this person stays employed. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I've known Mike Lewis a long time, he worked on my in-laws before becoming my orthopedic guy. In 2008, he attempted to repair my rotator cuff injury (now, a Grade 4- Global tear, no cuff left) ... and bicep tendon tear. My rotator tendon re-tore in 2021. My current surgeon was stunned after reviewing Lewis' notes and the MRI images that could be discerned. Dr. Lewis BARELY did any work. He neglected my bicep tendon until it currently was no longer reparable. Repairs stated as accomplished by Lewis, were in fact, never attempted. My current doctor shook his head at the notes and images. WORK NEVER DONE! I believe Dr. Lewis is retired, but I'm now informed, and on record, believing Lewis' work on me in 2008 ... was at best sub par, misrepresenting work he'd done and leaving me to lift weights with a still unrepaired rotator cuff tear, and did ZERO work on my torn bicep tendon. Many of his stories about sport affiliations are questionable. Unfortunately, I consider him a loose cannon. Illinois Bone and Joint should prepare fr work he's down to return to IBJI in the worst possible manner.

His staff was A+ and made me very comfortable I did not wait so long to see him and even though he has a fast pace way he gave me plenty of time to discuss and diagnose my injury. He was very honest and went over a game plan to get me better. He showed compassion towards my injury and made me feel a lot better.
