I'm not sure if the latter relates to this Italian market and sandwich shop located in Alpharetta, Georgia, but read on comrade. The place has good sandwiches - paninis, croissants - all expertly crafted with specialty olive oils. Excellent quality focaccia and baked goods. First class imported meats and cheeses. The ambiance is mostly Italian, but with a little of this and a little of that. There is an emphasis on Colavita products in the market area. Olive oils. Tomato sauce. Italian pastas and spreads. Where's the Mutti? Some Italian soft drinks along with your typical American drinks like Smart Water and Cokes. If you're eating in most of the tables are super small. Three chairs at the small tops, but just barely enough room on the tables for the sandwich serving boards that are used as "plates". Not usually one for reviews, but compelled to write one for this gem of a place! We stumbled upon this place and it was an amazingly happy accident! Firstly, for anyone surprised by the sticker price, yes, it is pricier than one would expect, but the warm service and the diligent care the shop owners put into prepping your meal does and will more than make up for the price. Especially if one factors in the intangible factor of 'the experience' into the price. Spoiled for choices, I asked the lovely folks there for their favorite paninis, and they both suggested the Roma. Despite not being a huge fan of Salami, I asked them to prep it exactly as they would for themselves. And I am so glad I did because it was hands down one of the best paninis I've ever had! They put so much care into prepping your meal. That level of quality does take time. For a lazy Saturday afternoon, when you want to enjoy amazing food, wonderful service, and be in the company of folks who truly enjoy what they do, I can't recommend this place enough. The Amore Mio, stuffed full of burrata cheese, all the best meats and slathered in a pesto sauce, was hands down the best sandwich I've had in a good long while. This place is the best!!! I've been coming here at least once a month since its opening and I'm always craving an amore mio panini. If you get this or any other panini you HAVE To get the red pepper jam on it too. It's not too spicy, but has a perfect mixture of spicy and sweet. This place has the best Italian food I've ever had, their pastas, paninis, deserts, and market is outstanding. Don't even mention how great the service is, they gave us free cannolis! Lots of different feelings on this place. A super cute shop. Interesting selection. We purchased a few items including a sandwich, a baguette, 2 cappuccinos, a pound of prosciutto, almond croissant, a jar of peppers and jar of crushed tomatoes. The bill was $150. My biggest issue was they charged $50/lb for the prosciutto which is crazy to me. I have bought prosciutto at Dekalbs farmers market, East 48 street and several other little boutiques throughout the metro Atlanta area. The quality is a lot better for half the cost. The baguette was not good either, very chewy. The croissant was pretty good. The cappuccinos were also overpriced and a bit bitter. The sandwich we got was delicious as was the focaccia. But also $20 for a sandwich and some chips, also seemed excessive. It was an ok experience but not very happy considering the value. Granted I was dumb for not asking the price of the prosciutto, but it reminded me of BH prosciutto. I will stick to E 48th street. read more
