Found the best sandwich of my life while traveling for work. Here in the little town of Alpharetta GA (outside of Atlanta) is a small Italian grocery store that is also offering a menu of about 20 options that will blow your damn socks off. The women working there are as authentic as they come, and they deliver simple but absolutely beautiful focaccia sandwiches. I tried two during my recent stay: The Amore Mio - Burrata cheese, prosciutto, salami, spanish chorizo, mortadella, artisanal pesto sauce, sundried tomato & arugula The Roma - Brie cheese, pepper jam, prosciutto, soppressata, salame calabrese, fresh tomato & arugula Each of these were served on toasted focaccia with your choice of flavored olive oils. Truly magnificent. They were a bit pricy ($15-$20 per sandwich), but they don't skimp on the high quality ingredients. Can't wait to come back and try more. read more

I really wanted to enjoy this spot for the sandwiches they have and because I heard the owners were Latino and I wanted to support my own people. However, on both occassions I've gone, I've been completely ignored. I never complain, but being a woman who frequents businesses alone often, I don't understand why I only run into this treatment when I'm out alone. I am a courteous, well mannered person and I take pride in that. I was simply stared at after saying hello, meanwhile the other 4 men that walked in after me were immediately acknowledged. I also find that there was zero patience for explaining to me how ordering works. Just treated me like some dumb girl...it just felt like the whole interaction, they were annoyed with my social anxiety. It's a $20 sandwich. I wanted to make sure I ordered correctly. And when I'm checking out, the cashier is making...quite prejudiced comments about other communities. I wouldn't have bought anything if he had said those things before I paid. It affirmed every uncomfortable feeling I had throughout the experience. I hate to be the only person that seems to have an issue with a place everyone loves, but I guess I'll be the bearer of bad news. My family and I love coming here for delicious fresh food. The sandwiches remind me of the top notch hole in the wall Italian delis in New York. Tonight I tried their weekly pasta, the vodka sauce was deliciously cheesy and salty. The pasta was cooked a perfect al dente. Fresh Basil growing in the front... Greenery hanging from the ceiling... Enough variety of goods to be interesting but not so much as to overwhelm! And then you walk back to the little eatery... I got the salmon panini with a lemon olive oil and it was honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten. It works so well together and would be perfect as a brunch sandwich or for dinner. One of few Italian stores I've seen in Georgia As a store, it's small but has some great offerings from oils, olives, pasta, and snacks We picked up a bottle of truffle oil for $18 & a jar of Calabrian peppers whole for ~$14 The cashier talked us into checking out the cafe in back which has a ton more stuff from paninis, cheese boards, pastries and coffee. The meats/cheeses for the boards & sandwiches looked delicious. Prices in halcyon are high imo but seems normal for the area. $15 for a panini Boards were $30+ We ordered a cannoli but you can't just get one and fyi toppings are extra. Prices not posted but an espresso + 2 cannolis with toppings came out to ~$11 The cannolis are great! Tiny but mighty.. worth the price. Espresso is not freshly ground but is made from a pod and was more bitter than anticipated. Probably would not do that one again The pastries looked delicious, as well. Their paninis are fantastic! I got the Padua (in picture) and the Adriatico panini. I loved that we got the choice of which olive oil goes on the sandwich. I got the garlic olive oil and my wife got the lemon one. Their cappuccino was delicious and tasted just like the cappuccinos we had in Italy! I'm not sure if the latter relates to this Italian market and sandwich shop located in Alpharetta, Georgia, but read on comrade. The place has good sandwiches - paninis, croissants - all expertly crafted with specialty olive oils. Excellent quality focaccia and baked goods. First class imported meats and cheeses. The ambiance is mostly Italian, but with a little of this and a little of that. There is an emphasis on Colavita products in the market area. Olive oils. Tomato sauce. Italian pastas and spreads. Where's the Mutti? Some Italian soft drinks along with your typical American drinks like Smart Water and Cokes. If you're eating in most of the tables are super small. Three chairs at the small tops, but just barely enough room on the tables for the sandwich serving boards that are used as "plates". Oddly, in back of the check out counter you'll also find Off bug spray along with toothpaste, shampoo and Dove soap. Not sure what that's about, but... Not usually one for reviews, but compelled to write one for this gem of a place! We stumbled upon this place and it was an amazingly happy accident! Firstly, for anyone surprised by the sticker price, yes, it is pricier than one would expect, but the warm service and the diligent care the shop owners put into prepping your meal does and will more than make up for the price. Especially if one factors in the intangible factor of 'the experience' into the price. Spoiled for choices, I asked the lovely folks there for their favorite paninis, and they both suggested the Roma. Despite not being a huge fan of Salami, I asked them to prep it exactly as they would for themselves. And I am so glad I did because it was hands down one of the best paninis I've ever had! They put so much care into prepping your meal. That level of quality does take time. For a lazy Saturday afternoon, when you want to enjoy amazing food, wonderful service, and be in the company of folks who truly enjoy what they do, I can't recommend this place enough.
