So many things to love about this place... the succulent grilled prawns, the burrata and cherries, the dog-friendliness inside and out, the fresh oysters, the mushroom focaccia, the chocolate cake, and the kindest servers. Totally coming back and can't wait. 5 stars!!!!

Duck

Was here on a busy weeknight and had a great meal. We ordered the mushroom focaccia to start. I had the salad as a starter and the duck as my main dish. The salad was great - I really enjoyed the fresh fruit and local produce. I asked that the duck wasn't super bloody, but unfortunately I might have gone too far in asking since it came out a bit chewy for me. I am mostly taking off one star since we got to the restaurant before it was busy and asked to sit one table over since the only other table that was taken was the one next to where we were being seated. The hostess let us know that unfortunately all the tables were booked and we couldn't switch, however, when a different group asked the same question five minutes later when they were being seated, their table was switched. It just didn't sit right. Would certainly return for the great food.

Whole roasted Montauk fluke for 2

Narrow dining with tight tables but the food makes up for it. Server was not happy when we asked for assistance deboning the whole fluke. But the meal itself was spectacular.

We went here on a Sunday evening with the gals who has been here before. The place was lively with locals and families. We had a drink at the bar as they prepped our table. The bartender was seasoned and skilled making an excellent Cosmo. The menu is full of local and seasonal dishes that are quite enticing. We decided to order a bunch of things to nosh on. The prawns were noteworthy and we sopped up the sauce with extra bread. We topped off the meal with a rustic tart of nectarines (maybe) that was served with a creme fraiche. Lovely. We had a great time and enjoyed the friendly service.

This place is quite popular in the area and for good reason. My favorite dish was the razor clams, which are hard to find and absolutely delicious. The service is excellent, and the ambiance is lovely. I visited during a quiet afternoon, which made the experience even better. Their coffee is also really good.

Il Buco al Mare has 3.5 stars on Yelp, which I would say is a pretty accurate rating. I would have gone with 4, but decided on 3 based on a few things from my dining experience: First off, my husband and I usually like to share a bunch of shareable things instead of ordering individual large mains. We ordered the following: Oysters - no complaints here, they were delicious. They were already dressed with vinegar and whatever else, it didn't come with condiments or anything. Crudo - yummy! So tasty. It also had little bits of mango in it and all the flavors really complemented well together. Margherita Focaccia - this was basically a Margherita pizza on focaccia bread. Really good! The bread was dense but delicious. Stuffed Squid Tin - this was interesting. It came with little slices of crostini with butter. It was just ok, but what was not so great was that as I was cutting into it on my plate I saw a small piece of hair- I was done eating after that. We told the waitress who took it off our bill, which was appreciated. Everything else we ordered: Prawns, Broccolini, and Roasted Corn - all of these were nothing special, but good! I would have given Il Buco a 4, but after the whole hair incident I bumped it down to a 3. The meal was good- not great, but not terrible either. Better than average I would say. Being in Amagansett where good restaurants are far and few in between, I would say this is one of the better ones. We also were able to make a reservation the day-of, and it was a pretty setting- good for an easy date night!

This place has a VERY LIMITED MENU and NO LIQUOR LICENSE. They have a selection of the menu of seafood that is from "tins". They import the mackerel, squid and scallops from Spain. However, the prawns and the steak were DELICIOUS!! The SERVICE was SUBPAR. The manager had to cover for his staff and take over for us. But then he went back to his manager role and never checked in on us afterwards. We asked for a second bottle of water, but it never came.

Went in a Monday Night. It was busy. Sat outside which turned out ok because the weather cooperated. They do have umbrellas. But if it's raining hard. You can't sit outside. The food was very good. Had the mushroom pizza. Excellent. Margarita pizza was good. Oysters. Very good. Tuna appetizer was ok. Shirt steak. Excellent. Half and chicken excellent. Broccolini delicious. Had two cucumber vodka drinks. Refreshing. It's the Hamptons. So it was not cheap. But within reason. Service was good. Went to see Donavan frankenreiter at the Talkhouse after. Super convenient. Recommended!

Don't wash your time or money. Too overcrowded, bad service, small menu, portions too small too. Parking is difficult.

Fantastic locally owned seafood restaurant! Visited for the first time while in the Hamptons and…read morehad a grest experience. The place is a very chill vibe with indoor and outdoor seating, they also have a nice little bar. Food wise everything is great! We got the oysters, fritters, and steamers to start; all of which were fresh and delicious! For dinner I went with the cold lobster roll and it did not disappoint! The roll was nicely over stuffed and the lobster was so meaty and fresh. Definitely one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had! Service was super friendly and fast. Got to meet the owner who was a super nice guy. Definitely recommend if your in the area. They dont take reservations so you might have to work, but definitely worth it!

The tartar sauce and marinara paired well too. The lobster meat was chunked rather than shredded (which I prefer) and really piled on generously. It was disappointed that the meat was super dry and not tender. Kind of disappointing for a $36 lobster roll when you expect the chunks to melt in your mouth and be succulent. We did ask for a side of butter to dip the pieces in and it did improve it slightly. I needed to also salt the meat since it was cooked in unsalted butter. Bun was a tad too toasted but otherwise held up well and was both crispy and fluffy. Side of fries were well crisped and salted. Service was great - our waitress was attentive and quick to address our needs while managing a very busy bar. Food came out fast. Had no wait when opting to sit at the bar (2 people) though a table wait would have been about 15 minutes.

We asked to change our table as we were given a tight corner table not comfortable for three men. They graciously accommodated us but, the transition was not smooth. At the second location, in a front room, a lady came and we started to order - appetizers and entrees. She said she was actually the manager and was jumping in as a waiter because they were short staffed. She took our order and asked if we would like every thing to come out at once - we said no - appetizers first then entrees. What an odd question. Do they usually serve everything at once? I am not looking for a strict conventional order of serving but, something is off here. We never saw her again and, never really knew who our waiter was. We were served by a variety of bus people, runners and finally the General Manager. We did not complain. One of the gentlemen is our party is a professional chef. He ordered a coke at one point from the GM which didn't come for 15 minutes - so, we sent it back. The food was just OK - pizza nothing special - service disorganized and, for those reasons we will not be back. To his credit, noticing that we were not happy - he took our drinks off the check. Generally speaking, this restaurant suffers from mediocre food at EH prices, and the staff doesn't seem to work together is a smooth way. Respectfully submitted feedback - with hopes for improvement
