Food and service was amazing BUT Very disappointing experience. We were required to put down a $350 deposit just to hold the reservation, which felt excessive given the type of restaurant and overall experience. What made it even worse was how the check was handled at the end of the night. We were told that we would be able to split the check, so we planned accordingly. When it was time to pay, however, we were suddenly told that the check could not be split and that the person who placed the $350 deposit had to pay the entire bill. It's one thing to have a deposit policy or a no-split-check policy, but guests should be told these policies up front and consistently, not after the meal when there's no reasonable way to adjust. For a restaurant charging a $350 deposit, I expected a much more professional and accommodating experience. Unfortunately, the policies and the way they were handled left a very bad impression. read more

We stayed at the Montauk Manor for a weekend event with the American Littoral Society and our meals were all at Monte's. Breakfast was amazing -- first day I had poached eggs with sausages which came with bread and hash and second day I had ham and cheese omelette and bacon which also came with bread and hash -- huge portions. The sausages were really tasty. Lunch was good - I tried the fish and chips. It was a light batter, not breaded. That's the way I like my fish. The Caesar salad tasted fresh and the dressing was flavorful. Dinner -- chicken Parmesan was a huge portion that I only could eat about a third of it. Packed the rest to go. The arugula salad had a nice dressing. I would recommend a visit to Monte's for any meal. read more

Pleasant restaurant inside the Montauk Manor hotel, catering to guests and locals drawn te the historic building and elegant setting. The food is predominantly Italian-American with a variety of pasta dishes and plenty of seafood as well. I had the fluke piccata which was mellow and satisfying. The capers and olives lent some texture to the mouthfeel and provided savory flavor to complement the mild fish. I also ate the complimentary bread with much gusto. For dessert, I tried a slice of the Italian Rainbow Cookie Cake. This was a little disappointing as the cake was dry and had a pungent garlicky flavor, like it had been cut with a knife that had just chopped garlic. I recommend inquiring about what's freshest when making your selections! Service was great (shout out to Michael) and I felt welcome and looked after. A step above many hotel restaurants and worth a visit if you're in town. read more

Nice Italian addition to Montauk. the bar is in the lobby of the Montauk Manor and it is rather small but nicely done. The dining room is basic but cozy. We had some nice wines and a crispy caesar and then shared two of the pastas. The red sauce did live up to expectations and the dessert was also good. We had dinner the other night the staff were friendly & attentive. The atmosphere was nice. For appetizers we had meatballs & mussels. The meatballs were strictly average & the mussels were terrible. For our main course we had ravioli which were very good an a pasta dish with rapini & sausage which was also very good.. If the appetizers were better I would have gave them 4-5 stars. read more

We stayed in montauk for a couple nights as we do every year. We arrived Monday and realized this was the only day to go to Monti's since they were closed the next couples days we would be there. We were looking forward to it as last year everything was incredible from the pasta to the steak, we even started buying their jarred sauce when we returned home even the service was great! well this year was very different,we sat down ordered some soft drinks (a cherry coke) as the waitress was about to say we dont have it my husband said they just add grenadine to the coke "oh good call my guy" the waitress says. already that was a little off putting. Wasnt even brought bread to the table or offered it. She asks if we are ready to order and my husband orders the steak (which we specifically came for). She goes "oh i forgot we are out of steaks" Huh? are you serious? how do you run out of steak it was early in the night as well. maybe tell customers this before they sit down and order drinks because we would have left then. Then the male at the table next to us orders a steak as well, the waitress then chuckles and says "uh oh double trouble no steak" and looks back over to us meanwhile my husband is in no joking mood now being hungry and annoyed at that point he asks for the check for the sodas, you'd think she wouldnt charge for her mistake and the inconvenience she caused but we paid the $15 for 2 sodas and tip anyway and left very annoyed as it was our one night to sit down to a nice dinner dressed nice for our anniversary.Guess if we decide to go again after all this next year we need to call and ask if they have meat left! It was a slow night at Monty's (four tables were occupied), but we sat in the restaurant for 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Nobody came over to at least ask if we wanted water. Another table (party of four) was seated after us and they were attended to almost immediately. Not an eye was batted by the staff when we got up to leave. It's a shame since we're staying at this hotel and I was prepared to overpay for dinner tonight. Food was very good, so was the service, except for the snippy hostess who refused to seat us when less than half the tables were occupied at 6:30 p.m. Yeah, I get it, we should have called for a reservation, the smallish dining area was mostly booked with later reservations on a summer evening. Since we had a condo apartment upstairs, it was OK to get a take-out meal, but every other person on staff was ultra-friendly, from the woman taking our take-out order at the bar to the bartender serving drinks to the very nice woman who brought our meal out, nicely packed, to the lobby. Just saying, it's hospitality 101. BTW, whoever made the meal in the kitchen, loved the pasta with rabe and sausage. read more

My work colleagues and I visited Montauk Manor for 3 days and had a joyous experience. Monte's did NOT disappoint. The servers (shoutout to Derrick!) were fantastic and the food was tasty. HIGHLY recommend the swordfish, truffle fries, and baked oysters. For dessert, since my birthday had just passed a few days ago we enjoyed the rainbow cake which nearly topped my favorite pastry shop in Manhattan (Veniero's - a NYC staple if you haven't tried it yet!). Overall, Monte's was a 10 out of 10 and we'll definitely be back in the near future! read more

Services wasn't the best, they seemed annoyed, not interested in answering our questions about the menu and when we were done with our meals he pretty much told us to pay and have a good night. I ordered the mussels and while the white wine sauce was good, most of the mussels were the size of my fingernail. My wife had the sausage egg and mozzarella breakfast wrap and took two bites and left it. No one asked how the food was or we would have told them. When we first got there looked promising but in the end was the complete opposite. When we first sat down we had ordered drinks and when my margarita came I had to physically salt my own rim not impressed at all like I didn't come to a restaurant to work. Then when everybody else got their drinks the glasses were so small there was probably like 2oz in each one. Then we ordered our food and I got the fluke piccata and I was trying not to eat the bread to be healthier and the food came and it was breaded so apparently that needed to be said on the menu. Flavor was very bland and then my husband got the pappadrdelle and it was so unbearably spicy I could barely even take 2 bites. The deserts were pretty good taste wise but the service was absolutely horrible we waited about a half an hour just for ice cream and two slices of cake. In the end a meal for four people ended up costing almost $300 with tip food wasn't great and was INSANELY EXPENSIVE!!!! read more

He apologized for forgetting to bring our son his juice but forgot that the wife and I ordered sodas. The ambience was very nice. Didnt even get chance to explain my two daughters have major sesame seed allergies and nut allergies. Must be nice that business is so great that you can quickly dismiss people. We initially got there and sat at the bar. John the bartender was fantastic, super personable and knowledgeable about the history of the place as well as the town in general. He was also able to give us some tasty menu recommendations. If you go here I would recommend stoping at the bar if John is there! Once we sat we had the mozzarella dip and it was phenomenal! We couldn't stop eating it the sauce was perfectly made and it paired great with the toasted crustini's they gave with it. For our meal we had chicken parm and the spicy pasta and they tasted great too! It's a small little place with only about 20 tables inside and it felt very nice and warm. We had an outstanding dinner at Monte's at Montauk Manor. Walking into the beautifully decorated restaurant set the mood for what turned out to be a lovely evening. There were so many beautiful details to see in the decor from wine bottles to decorations that evoked dining in someone's beautiful home. And then came dinner! Delicious whole clams casino w fresh warm bread to soak up the sauce. I had fluke piccata which was the very best preparation of fluke I have ever eaten. It was sauced w a light lemon sauce w capers and olives that enhanced the delicate fish. A side of broccoli rabe w garlic and onions was perfectly cooked and was big enough to share. My husband had orichetti w sasauge and broccoli rabe. My husband pronounced it delicious and polished off the very generous portion. He said he kept eating it because it was so good! My husband topped off dinner w a perfectly prepared cappachino. I was too full to eat another morsel. And I must say the service was also outstanding. Tina our server took excellent care of us keeping us updated on when our dinner was coming and kept checking to make sure we were happy w dinner or if we needed anything else. We will be sure not to miss Monte's the next time we are in Montauk. read more

Took my wife, her parents, and our kids here. Some of the best food I've ever had in New York! The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce had so much flavor. I loved the calamari as it was some of the best I've had. Very fresh and just a right amount of breading and spices. Stretch mozzarella was something that is so hard to find on the West Coast. Could go back and just do that! The bar makes incredible martinis, and the service was on point. We had such an amazing time walking around the beautiful grounds after our meal. What an amazing experience!!! The food was delicious and the experience was wonderful. We were seated immediately and loved the warm atmosphere. We loved the swordfish meatballs and fluke piccata. The fish was fresh and the flavors were amazing. The stretch appetizer stole the show especially with my kids. We bought the Montes sauce (really the best sauce we've ever had) and have been trying to recreate it since we've been home!!!
