The Lake Titicaca of oil brought to our table
    Craig S.

We didn't totally know we were in trouble until our server plopped a medium appetizer sized plate featuring the singular logo of the storied Palm Restaurant- palm tree with "est.1926" nestled elegantly below said tree, filled with a lake of olive oil encircled by a wall of grated parmigiana on our table, to accompany a basket of stale focaccia that was late to the table. It was an oily and cheesy grotesque sight- but more about this absolute shocker in a moment. The way I understood the story was that The Palm, was bought by Landry's some time ago and is now an uneven experience depending on which of their restaurants you visit, so when I found myself out in Easthampton it didn't occur to me that this version of The Palm, the restaurant inside The Huntting Inn could be shaky. But boy oh boy was I wrong. The Fox News on the TV - sitting there as if to say " Don't Eat Here" should have been enough. The lazy orange slice instead of a nicely pared peel in the Negroni should have been enough. The way too long omittance of silverware and napkins on our table should have been enough for us to have hightailed it outta there- but hey it's The Palm, they still can play the hits, we thought to ourselves. So we ordered. A shrimp cocktail for me, a caprese for the table, and a caesar to split for my hosts. The caprese was waaaay too balsamic'd, a mess of drizzle. My shrimp was fine, even these bozos couldn't mess that up- although the cocktail sauce was lacking quality. Something was amiss. The request for bread was made again, and our servers explained it was being worked on, and they hustled. Let that sink in. The bread- not the normal excellent bread you got at The Palm- onion roll, raisin roll, pretzel roll, breadsticks- but 4 rectangular pieces of focaccia arrived, along with The Lake Titicaca of Olive Oil and Parmigiana . "What's that?", I asked. " Olive oil and Parmigiana " our waiter replied. I sat stunned. Speechless. The 140.00 porterhouse (a bargain l-I know) came next - cooked unevenly, we were as close as you could be to sending it back- along with a cold, old, awful baked potato, that should have gotten the entire kitchen fired for letting it get to a customer. Also, at this version of the legendary Palm, a baked potato with "all the fixins" means they give you 4 terrines with too cold butter, sour cream, cheese, onions, as if you were at a Sizzler salad bar. The broccoli rabe lackluster. I don't fault our servers- they are good kids working hard that simply don't know any better- but it is an absolute disgrace what has happened to the storied and beloved Palm. This could very well be the shittiest restaurant in The Hamptons.

The gross wine glasses from the last group that was sitting at the bar.

This is place is no longer good and it's a real shame. The Palm was an institution in East Hampton and it's sad what it's become. There was so much history here and the restaurant just hasn't done anything to improve on it. Food is decent, but not worth the price. Service is mixed and uneven. First, the bar has become super sterile and it's lost a lot of its soul. You guys got rid of the wood paneling in the bar, the booths, everything. There was no one at the bar and the bartender kept me waiting for like 10 mins and didn't clean the dirty glasses from the party my before me off the bar. See the picture. It was gross. The steak was good but under-salted. The Brussels sprouts were horrible and the Gigi salad has been massacred. You killed a simple salad. The bread was microwaved nonsense - it came so hot it was inedible and then when it cooled it was so hard to eat...I mean it's bread. Not that hard. The carrot cake was one of the worst I have ever had and you had a good carrot cake. You weren't even making it - you were buying the carrot cake. Just sell that one. This is such a sad thing that happened here. Actually depressing.

A lot better this time around. The Filet Mignon was PERFECTLY COOKED for a change. 9/10 The green beans were A+ The service was good. The ambiance is classic Palm. Celebrity faces covering the walls. Very good steak house vibes. I will have to come back more often.

Great spot for special occasions. Excellent service, delicious food and great drinks. I always enjoy my experience here and make sure to make it a part of every trip out East! Beautiful restaurant.

To say that Chris runs a perfect restaurant would be an understatement. How blessed we are to have the Palm at hunting inn. The ambience is incredible. The food terrific and our waitress,Nicole, could not have been more attentive. We already made a reservation for next Thanksgiving and for Christmas this year. It has become a tradition, how thankful we are.

You can never go wrong with Palm, and east Hampton location is a perfect choice of experiencing classy Italian dining. Friendly stuff are very welcoming with a great communication skills was very informing and the menu, I was suggested to have a sea bass which was very delicious, combined with a sparkling rose.

Good burger although they could have put French fries instead of potato chips for a $26 burger.
    Lisa Marie K.

The burger was good but they should have added French fries not potato chips? This is a $26 burger. And fries would have complimented it better than stale chips. It took away. That palm experience

Not the same without Joe Started a tab for myself and he then added my 5 girlfriends order to my tab He seemed very confused.... Let's see how it does when the high season hits Anyway we were all late for our meeting since the first check we were given was missing a food and drink Delay delay delay Barely anything on the bar menu that is appealing I've Was my go to spot The tavern at 1770 I think will have a better vibe Very sad to see what Landrys has done to this place

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had…read more My partner became ill and was unable to join me for dinner. We called the restaurant to either move our reservation to another day or cancel it, and were told that only the manager could assist us. However, we were told the manager was unavailable because he was busy speaking with regulars at a table. I asked if we could simply be placed on hold until he was available so we could find a solution. We were told no. Instead, the employee said they would "leave a note" and that someone would call us back if they were able to help. Meanwhile, we were told that if the reservation was canceled, we would be charged a $135 cancellation fee -- despite the fact that we were actively trying to work with the restaurant to either reschedule or resolve the situation. The experience became even more unacceptable when the employee eventually hung up on us and then stopped answering our calls. The restaurant only answered after American Express contacted them on our behalf. To be clear, I have no issue with a restaurant having a cancellation policy. What I have an issue with is the way this situation was handled: being told the manager was "too busy" to speak with us, being refused the simple courtesy of being placed on hold, having our calls screened, and ultimately being hung up on. That is an embarrassing level of customer service for an establishment of this caliber. I genuinely hope someone in management -- above the person working the restaurant that evening -- takes this seriously and addresses this behavior. A cancellation policy is one thing; treating a customer with this level of disrespect is another.

The service was excellent and the ambiance is definitely the highlight. As for the food, it was good but didn't quite live up to our expectations. A few of our dishes arrived overcooked and only lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. That said, we still had a nice experience overall. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, especially to enjoy the beautiful garden atmosphere. Overall, a nice spot for a relaxed night out.

The bomb dish ( in a good way) was the linguine with lobster. Wow!!! Many places here on EH destroy your wallet just by using the title " lobster" this perfectly seasoned dish is a light butter cream sauce was not at all heavy the lobster plentiful and frankly enough for two ppl All in all my only complaint is that they are only open Wednesday through Saturday but hey.. if it's that good it worth planning around their schedule.
