For when you're tired of pizza pies, but not quite tired of gourmet pizza. The owner is not just a…read morepizza enthusiast, but also a kitchen "scientist" on all the peculiar applications of biologic flours and yeast. The result is that the dough is highly digestible, resulting in a somewhat lighter product that doesn't leave you bloated the day after. Stress on lightER, because the toppings are so tempting that every meal is hardly a weight-losing experience. The idea of serving pizza by the slice allows you to mix and match, ordering several flavors in one meal. And if you're with a larger crowd, there are alternatives for every taste: fried goodies (supplì, crocchette etc.), rotisserie pork and chicken, sides and cold cuts. There's even a whole section for draft beer and gourmet cheese. Meaning that if you don't want to take it to go, there's plenty of room to seat inside and even watch the latest soccer game, if that's your cup of tea. I'm more of a fan of thinner, less risen pizza, but I gladly make an exception for the creative combinations on display, including vegetarian and meat-loving creations. And if you do the math, you end up spending less than if going to a more traditional restaurant, although the pizza by the slice is priced a bit on the high side. All credit cards are accepted, so don't put any limit to your appetite and order away, flour, water and yeast never tasted so good and rich.

Our dinner was smaller than usual, skipping antipasti, we had a "traditional" pasta for primi, cacio e pepe, which was very good and a chicken cacciatore for secondi, also very good. We ate a desert, Millefoglie, very good, with after dinner drinks. The prices are a good value. The service was very good. The vibe is excellent. We'd eat there again. We had several different dishes to choose from with considerations for vegetarians, vegans, and allergies of various type. The sponsors had provided the menus to us a few days before the dinner to get a count and provide notice in advance to Bistrot 4.5, so points for preparedness. The place is small, so our party took up most of their back area. I felt bad for anyone else near us because I feel we did get quite loud. We had a wonderful time though. The food was fantastic. Everything they brought out looked and tasted wonderful. The staff were very kind and patient, especially considering most of us did not speak Italian. I would highly recommend as a great all around experience.
