Melon and prosciutto, right before primi showed up at table
Ariel O.

So rude, brought the antipasto with the primi, then acted like they didn't know that we were upset. Pasta was undercooked. If you offer table-side serve ice do it right not like crap, they never checked to make sure food was good. Do not go here, so many better restaurants.

Amazing soft layers of fresh pesto lasgne pasta. The prosciutto sandwich with fresh buffalo mozorella and toasted bread is a really good choice too. You can get a small bottle of wine with your sandwich. I love wine at a sandwich stop. A sweet husband and wife runs this place. It is one of the few places I was able to get a side of roasted veggies, seriously veggies are scarce in Rome.

Amazing experience. The chef and his wife took great care of us to ensure we had an authentic Italian experience. He made us his special with various items and all were amazing. The lasagna and cannoli were to die for.

Got hungry after visiting the Trevi Fountain? This place is just a stone throw away from the hustle…read moreand bustle. It's a small entrance down a cobblestone street but the outside is deceiving. Inside there's a bakery with all sorts of treats, and behind that, the restaurant opens up into a large dining area with big brick arches. It looks grand but is very casual. All the staff are super friendly and speak English. We tried a margherita pizza with mushrooms and prosciutto, tonnarlli cacio e Pepe with artichokes, and carbonara. Both pastas were fantastic with cheesy and creamy with a hint of spice from pepper. The pizza was awesome. If you enjoy thin crust or are carb sensitive this is for you. For dessert we tried maritozzo, basically a cream filled baguette which wasn't my favorite.

Overall, the food was quite good here and they had decent sized portions. Our favorite dish there was an artichoke carpaccio which came with shavings of pecorino, olive oil, arugula, and lemon juice -- surprisingly good! Pasta was thick and chewy, so it was quite filling, and it came with plenty of sauce. They have a decent selection of coffee, beer, and wine as well. The space is nicely decorated so it's fine if you're looking for something casual or for something a little nicer as well.

A restaurant featuring very vegan friendly versions of Roman cuisine…read more Vegan friendly is not that common in Rome. They offer carnivorous versions as well for the people who are not thrilled about the prospects of soy cheese and tofu. My non-dairy-eating wife marveled at the huge selection of offerings she could have. She never could have gotten these Italian offerings at most other trattorias. * * * The actual pizza she got was no great thrills. She had not found El Dorado. But she had found lunch. There had been choice on the menu. * * * i ordered Gnocchi Sorrentina in a meat version. It would have been no better and no worse in a vegan version. Each individual gnocchi was like bubble gum. I chewed and I chewed and I chewed and I chewed. The sauce did not make endless chewing a gastronomic delight. * * * I would have gotten out of Origano like a bat out of hell. My wife strolled out of Origano like a fire elemental leaving hell. For her, the flames were not all that interesting. But they were not unpleasant either.

I am sitting at Campo de Fiori as I write this for the second time in two days. There are plenty of other options but I can't bring myself to go anywhere else. All the pasta dish's are amazing. The pizza is heaven. I personally love the Roman artichoke and suppli. Additionally, the owner Steffi is just the sweetest person in the world. I cannot wait to com back here.

This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome!…read more We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
