We stumbled onto this restaurant quite accidentally and it was a fabulous find. We had no reservation but they fit us right in. Looked very popular with locals and I see why. The staff was friendly, efficient, and we could watch the chefs in the kitchen. No one seemed stressed despite a full house. And the food was excellent, with plenty of pasta, meat, and seafood choices. The prices made it even a better value. It's off the main tourist avenues, but absolutely worth seeking out. A highlight to our Sorrento visit!

    My cold meatball

I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Everyone got their food and I was waiting for an extra 20 min. Once mine came out it had 1 meatball and it was cold. Do not eat here. Messed up the whole order.

Authentic Sorrento food. Wonderful, welcoming staff with great food selection. The tiramisu is the best I've ever had. Fresh seafood caught that day and served to order. It's a must.

    Catch of the day!

Absolutely amazing food and great service! The pizza dough was crispy and soft. Fresh seafood still alive for you to pick as you walk in. Locals favorite.

Have a few 1/2 bottles of wine which was perfect for lunch

We stopped by this place just by chance for lunch. Very reasonable prices and friendly servers! They spoke English very well and were very accommodating. There were also a few others who brought their kids in so kid friendly if that's important. They only do the pizza menu for lunch during the summer busy season, so when we visited in February we only had the rest of the menu to choose from which was still delicious.

We wanted seafood because when in Sorrento...why not opt for super fresh seafood right by the coast?! Our server recommended a really delicious local red that was super reasonably priced and we enjoyed with said red: For Primi -- *Gnocchi alla sorrentina (Sorrento-style Gnocchi): I mean...we kinda had to get a regional specialty right? Gnocchi here is potato based instead. It was SO delicious - still perfect texture. They also served this HOT HOT HOT with melty cheese. So delicious and a really generous portion!! *Spaghettoni alle vongole (Pasta with Clams): Another favorite for us in general so figured a really fresh version could be stellar and it didn't disappoint! This slightly edged out the gnocchi for me flavor-wise, but the gnocchi was dang good so it just goes to show how DELISH this was!!! For Secondi -- *Grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish - this was an incredible plate of such fresh seafood. There was various fish, a giant prawn, octopus alll grilled & seasoned to perfection! *Swordfish special! -- apparently it was swordfish season and it was a 'fresh catch' and I feel like you could tell! Really lovely and nicely seasoned. Portions were very generous & we were way too full for dessert at this point! So you could probably eat more "American" style here (Just 1 entree instead of our approach), but the menu here is pretty stellar!!!

We stumbled in after some late nights out, and it was a total lifesaver, open until 3-4am when basically nothing else happened in town is. Honestly, it turned out to be some of the best pizza I've had in my life. Maybe it was the drinks talking, but I don't think so. We went back two nights in a row just to be sure. First night I had the Diavolo pizza spicy, crispy, perfectly balanced. Second night I tried the Cacio e Pepe pizza, which was rich and cheesy in the best way possible. Both were phenomenal. The vibe is awesome too. Inside feels almost like a big beer hall with tons of energy, while outside has more of a casual café feel. Even at 2-3 in the morning, the staff was super attentive and chill. We even had a bottle of wine with our pizzas one night, which made for the perfect nightcap. If you're in Sorrento and find yourself out late, or even if you're just craving amazing pizza, DeFranco is an absolute must. One of the greatest finds I've come across anywhere.

We were seated upstairs in a cute little area with lemon trees. We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, Shrimp Risotto, and Cacio e Pepe with Shrimp carpaccio and Bruschetta. The Carbonara was the BEST I have had ever!! I'll be dreaming of this dish the rest of my life! The risotto was delish (my daughter said), and the Cacio e Pepe very good. We ended with the Delizia Limone and a round of limoncello. Dessert was amazing, but discovered we don't actually like Limoncello! All in all, it was an expensive place to eat, but our entrees were FANTASTIC, and we will remember this place always! So worth it!

To start, we had burrata, bruschetta and mixed salad. All were good. The salad was fresh and crunchy (with lettuce, fennel, radicchio, carrot in a light vinaigrette). The sun-dried tomato bruschetta was delicious (with soft cheese, drizzled with honey). The burrata was also amazing (tomatoes tossed in police oil and salt, surrounding a fresh creamy burrata). We had pastas (gnocchi and ravioli fungi) and chicken. I had the ravioli, which was delicate and scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed their meals, though the chicken was very simple. Finally the service! We were greeted with warmth and the service right through was perfect. Thank you!

Every bite was AMAZING. The servers and staff that we came in contact with were wonderful and attentive. The place itself is nicely decorated, and has a very clean bathroom. I like how staff stays by the door to welcome people in, but they don't badger people on the sidewalk to come in like other places. We're thinking of going back even though we only have a night or two left in Sorrento, it was just that good!
