The prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella appetizer was quite good,tasty without being salty.Sadly the main course of papparelle w/ veal ragu lacked taste. It was faint,I tried hard to find the taste in it by really concentrating while eating but failed. For the table we also ordered a pizza, that was only on the bar menu, albeit we were in the dining room that was bearly warm, and not close to being as good as Pizzavino. Beautiful Resturant on a magnificent street. Too bad most of our meal was mediocre. The octopus carpaccio appetizer was one of the best dishes we've had in years. Fresh, delicate and full of flavor. After such an auspicious beginning we were so disappointed by both of our main courses: Oslo Bucco /the saffron risotto, and the Veal Milanese. Both meat dishes lacked seasoning The Oslo Bucco was undercooked and clung to the bone, while the veal cutlet was so well done it could have passed for shoe leather. The saffron risotto had a heavy glue like texture and the rocket tomato salad that accompanied the veal was neither seasoned nor dressed. Underwhelmed. read more

Today we had lunch which was.excellent. We both ordered entrees and were extremely satisfied. My husband had the special fish which was perfectly cooked and just couldn't have been better I ordered the veal and enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere and the food was good. The service not so good. I went in today around 3pm during happy hour. The bartender completely ignored me however he exuberantly serviced the party of 6 one table to my left that came in 10 minutes after me and the two blonds one table to my right who came in 15 minutes after me. They literally were not seated 3 minutes before he was at their table. I literally had to beg the server to find someone to take to take my calamari order. The place was nearly empty so there was no excuse. I had the privilege of hearing the waitress from another station argue with the server that I wasn't her table. She reluctantly took my order with a pleasant attitude and I expressed how insulted I felt by the rudeness of the bartender. She told the manager and he made apologies. Came here with my tennis team last night and I was thoroughly satisfied. Place is very clean and has a top-notch staff. Food is very good and I wish I could've ordered everything on the menu! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the portions are minuscule! I was glad I ordered a salad because if I had only ordered the pasta dish I would still be very hungry. Overall very great place, just be prepared for some higher prices for smaller portions, but very good food. read more

I think the best restaurant in the valley. They really know what great food is all about. I had the mussels and the rib eye steak. They were fantastic! The one and only flaw was that I got charged $30 corage fee for a bottle that I sometimes had to pour myself. I have traveled the world and have been to many fine places. We heard this place had some kinks when it originally opened up so we gave it some time and boy was it worth the wait. Tried this place for the first time last night. We were drawn by the wood fired pizza oven and the prospect of an authentic Italian pizza. Alvin, the Pizza Guy did not disappoint. The man is an artist! We enjoyed the two pizzas we ordered as well as two excellent bottles of Cab, and dessert was wonderful. Here is where things went off the rail. We were seated at the pizza bar and apparently our four seats were considered premium on a Saturday night. We intentionally arrived early in the evening to enjoy a leisurely meal and enjoy watching Alvin create pizzas. But while we were still enjoying our food, the waitress reached in and placed a Reserved sign in front of our seats. Shortly after, she was overheard telling another employee that our seats should be available as we were done and had paid our tab already. This made us feel that we were being rushed out to make room for others. We hadn't finished our dessert or our wine, and the relaxed atmosphere of our evening disappeared. I approached our server " Gina" and expressed my disappointment about her behavior and got a curt " sorry". I asked to see the manager. I was told he was busy talking to someone. I ultimately had to search out the manager and found him in the kitchen. While he professed regret, no offer of a comp, or drinks was made and the apology was insincere. Doubt we'll recommend this place to friends, or return. read more

Went in recently for the Happy Hour at the bar. Everything on the bar was under $9, so we had a food tasting of around 6 dishes. All were very good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. After this experience it became one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the desert. read more

Probably the best build out of any Desert Restaurant. Its beautiful inside and very well done in all aspects of design. The food quality definitely matches. We went in for lunch today right when they opened so we had the place to ourselves, but it quickly filled up which was surprising for June in The Desert. The single page lunch menu supplement is a good value for the exceptional quality. The full menu is much pricier, but has many more options. I had a simple Caesar salad which was exceptional and spaghetti which was divine. My choices were pretty vanilla so I had cappuccino ice cream for dessert (No one can beat Mama Gina's cappuccino ice cream, but they tried.) The service was very attentive and professional and we will definitely be back. Also, during the season the bar can be a lot of fun. Go there, you won't be disappointed. Thank you. read more

Amazing service: diligent and kind, 5 stars all the way! The sandwich wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was delicious and most people would love. I thought I ordered a refreshing balsamic mozzarella sandwich and it turned out to have prosciutto in it. A generous helping of top quality prosciutto. If you love dry cured meats you will be in heaven. I can admit the flavor was stellar, unfortunately, not my thing. All the flavors were very fresh and of very good quality. All I can say is WOW! We dined here tonight for our anniversary. The service was amazing! We had the Carpaccio and beet salad for appetizers. Both of them were delicious. My husband had the Salmon prepared in a Champagne butter sauce and I had the Veal Piccata with fresh capellini with garlic and olive oil. Everything was crazy good! Unfortunately our experience this evening was disappointing. We had been there last year twice. Having returned to the desert for a few weeks, we thought we'd return for dinner tonight! Our service was below par. We waited too long for our waiter to return to take our drink order. We decided to share a tricolore salad which was split in the kitchen. We noticed the bill showed a charge for splitting it. Our salad came out very quickly but not our entree. We waited very long for our entrees. I ordered Linguini Nero with mixed seafood. They brought me a bowl for the shells but not a seafood fork. Because I didn't have a small Fork I decided to pick up a small clam with my hands. I saw that it was cold to the touch. Then when I checked the mussels, they too were very cold even though the bowl was hot on the bottom. I had to send it back to be heated. The meal itself was not bad even though the fresh pasta was over cooked! After finishing our entrees our plates were cleared and we waited for someone to ask us if we wanted any dessert. After waiting too long, I got up and had someone bring us a bill so we could leave. The entire experience was a big disappointment! read more

It had a great vibe and it wasn't too noisy like some places can be when there is really high ceilings. We sat down in the dining room and had one of the best dinners we have had in a long time! A coworker recommended this place. So when I was in town I made it a point to go try a new Italian place. I was pleased with our choice. We brought my ~2 year old son, so it changed our dining experience. I noticed all the servers were speaking Italian, which you rarely see anywhere in Cali. I ordered the beet salad. It was light, served with a blue cheese wedge. For an entree my husband ordered the spaghetti with veal meatballs and I had the Tagliatelle All'Emiliana, a Homemade flat pasta cooked aldente with peas, ham and mushrooms in a light creamy tomato sauce. Both dishes were delicious. The veal meatballs were tender, and full of flavor, especially the red sauce. The place was extremely busy for a Tuesday night. In fact, I didn't realize how upscale the place was going to be and I was wearing flip flops and workout gear. Note to self, not casual... Either way, I would recommend the place and I look forward to going back to try some other items on the menu. read more

While I would not drive 1000 miles to get to IlCorso, if you are already in the Coachella Valley and want very good food and a fun atmosphere, I strongly recommend this restaurant. Walked in on mother's day with no reservations like an idiot, told there were no seats but the bar was available, perfect since my girlfriend drinks like a fish! I am fully aware that I wasnt going to get a booth or table since I was dumb and didnt make a reservation which I reccomend. But anywho, very nice little bar, good service. We were at a LAX tournament for the weekend and stumbled upon this new hot spot. We had a great private room that seated 15!-- kids at one end and adults at the other-- The food was very tasty, full of rich flavors. We started with the squash blossoms that were exquisite- followed by a great beet farrow salad! The filet was seasoned perfectly - the kids enjoyed meatballs and margarita pizza.
