This place was incredible! I'm a sucker for Detroit style pizza. We drove from Palm Springs to try it and it was worth it. All the pizzas looked amazing but I also recommend adding on the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. And do not sleep on the bread pudding... incredible!! Friendly staff, food came out quickly and there was plenty of parking. Ambience was cute and chill.

Airy bread with super crispy crust

I just got back from New York and this pizza tops the few that I tried. Arguably, it's a different style of pizza, since it's Detroit-style but it's memorable nonetheless. The crust on both were extra crispy from the cheese edges and didn't taste burnt. We tried the spicy capicollo, per the waiter's recommendation, and the sausage and roasted fennel, per the chef's recommendation. Both were delicious and I'd get them again, although the former wasn't spicy at all. We also ordered a Caesar salad as an app, and although it was good in terms of flavor, it was a bit too salty. The croutons were impeccable though. The service was great and we felt very welcomed. The restaurant gave off a home-y feel and it wasn't that busy on a Friday at noon so we ate a leisurely pace. The second pizza came out about 10 minutes later and the chef came out to apologize saying he made a mistake, which was very kind of him to inform us.

This hidden gem is exactly what the neighborhood needed! Black Cat Pizza proves you don't need a fancy storefront when you've got serious pizza game. The Detroit-style pizza here is outstanding. That crispy, caramelized cheese crust along the edges is perfection, and the dough has that ideal thick and fluffy texture. The pepperoni cups up beautifully with just the right amount of spice. You can tell they're not cutting corners on ingredients or technique. The vibe is pure neighborhood hangout with a crew that clearly loves what they do. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and their alcohol selection actually impressed me with thoughtful beer and wine pairings. Pro tip: catch them on a Friday night when they have live shows. Great music, cold drinks, and killer pizza make for a perfect evening. If you're tired of the same old pizza routine and want to support a spot that puts real care into their product, Black Cat Pizza delivers. Definitely coming back!

Carbloading pre race for relay team at LaQuinta IM70.3. I was lucky found perfect spot bonus close to hotel staying at over the weekend. All of the pizza on the menu Detroit style. Menu pretty diverse pasta, salads, and more. I enjoy all types of pizza. Detroit style it mostly all bread so even better for carb loading. They have some pre set pizza but went for kind of build ur own. Just keep it simple pepperoni. First impression love the presentation pizza comes on wire rack and all individual sizes. The dough excellent and cooked perfect. Sauce is solid. Pepperoni tasty. Overall one of the better Detroit style pizza ever had in life. Portion is nice. Interior decor is cool. I like all along walls artwork. Black cats on the walls. Tiny bar area up front order food and chill. They sell merchandise only style shirt. They have cool logo. Server and whole staff on it. Friendly. One notice my Ironman hoodie and asked if doing the race on Sunday. If looking for Detroit Style Pizza in Palm Springs, CA. Black Cat Pizza. Da Bomb!!!

Spicy Capicollo

Came here for a quick lunch after shopping and was surprisingly impressed. I have always been a fan of thin crust pizza and never tried Detroit Style pizza but I am a huge fan now. We were immediately greeted and was able to choose where to sit. They had ample seating inside and outdoors. We chose the Spicy Capicollo pizza and was able to enjoy and finish every bite. Each bite was so flavorful, with fresh ingredient (cheese, herbs, etc.) and crunchy at the same time. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Even when we got our food, the cook came out to ask how we enjoyed the pizza. This will be my new spot for pizza the next time I am in Palm Springs!

Great service and food. All of the guys working here are super friendly. Their pizza crust is perfecly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. This is one of my new favorite spots. Some may think this spot is pricier than the average pizza spot but its worth it. You won't find this style of pizza out here anywhere else.

Tempura mushrooms

We hit Black Cat on a Saturday afternoon. Parked right in front and sat right down. The waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered the tempura mushrooms and margarita pizza with hot honey. The tempura mushrooms were outstanding. Crunchy and tasty. The dipping sauce was a great compliment. The pizza was absolutely perfect. The focaccia crust with a tomatoey sauce was excellent. The ricotta cheese and basil accented the pizza to an explosion of flavor. Hot honey gave it a little bite. The cheese crowns on the sides put it over the top. A definite goto if in the area. Probably a goto even if you have to drive a bit. Best pizza in the Coachella valley.

Burnt mushroom pizza. See the black charring on the top? See the bottom with the consistency of brownies? This thing was barely edible.

I am so disappointed that I wasted a vacation dinner on the place. I spent $60 +/- on pizza delivered by DoorDash. Specially, I ordered a mushroom pizza and ranch sauce. What did I receive? A burnt pizza and no sauce. And when I say burnt, I meant burnt. This hockey puck should have been thrown away and remade. It is insulting that the staff let it leave the restaurant. They obviously just don't care about customer service.

Okay where do I begin. This pizza spot opened a year and a half ago and I've always had it bookmarked but never had the chance until last night for my sister's birthday. We're from LA County so it's a bit of a drive but all I can say is: I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK. Our family of 4 was greeted once we entered. The establishment is gorgeous from floor to ceiling. The walls are covered in black cat framed art. The lighting is dim and romantic. There is ample seating from tables to the counter stools. The smell of the place gives you this nostalgic pizza parlor vibe where it smelled familiar while deliciously intriguing. There's 80s-90s commercials silently on the flat screen while Bonita Applebaum plays in the background. Michael was our waiter for the evening. From start to finish, he was amazing. He left an impression on us the rest of the night. We started off with their roasted brussel sprouts. That appetizer had the perfect amount of crisp, not overly done and was covered in this delectable balsamic vinaigrette sauce. It gets better. Our waiter brought out his recommended pepperoni with hot honey pizza. We ordered it gluten free and couldn't even tell. I already dream about that damn pizza. You know it's good when you wake up craving it. Their pizza is more of a Detroit style so you get that cheesy crisp crust with burnt ends. The dough was incredible without being too much dough, iykyk. Their marinara sauce was truly unbelievable. None of that fake can crap. My bro in law said you can tell it's good tomato sauce when it's not too acidic that leads to heartburn. This pizza was excellent. The dough, marinara, cheese, pepperoni ratio was outstanding. You can tell the chefs made this pizza with love and handled it with care on this March Saturday night. Michael would stop by and just take time to chat with us. I told my family I can't wait to come back, to sit in the same spot, order another pizza and to have Michael as our waiter. Thank you for being the highlight of our staycation in Palm Desert. You are a gem.

Pepperoni and hot honey two thumbs up

Best wedge I've ever had. Atmosphere was cool. We had a large party that was easily accommodated. The pizza was reeeeaaally good, I especially liked the pepperoni and hot honey. And they played good music. Can't wait to go back

I was born and raised in Detroit. I've been eating Buddy's pizza (home of the original Detroit style pizza) since I learned to chew. It's my pizza Mecca. I'm glad Detroit style pizza is having its moment around the country, but sadly I'm almost always disappointed. Until now. My friends, Black Cat Pizza is the real deal. Absolutely top notch Detroit style pizza. The crust is perfect, right down to the cheesy caramelized edges that distinguish a legit Detroit style pizza from a mere pretender. If you like Detroit style pizza, run -- do not walk -- to Black Cat.

Their pics look good on Instagram but it was expensive slop. Could not recommend at this price point

Hot Honey Pizza

Wow! I'm so blown away by this PHENOMENAL pizza place. My new favorite! Staff were awesome and I settled on a Hot Honey Pepperoni. I'm normally not a fan of thick pizzas but this just WORKS. I've had GOOD pizzas, but it's been over a decade since I've had an innovative one. These are works of art, very well done. I love the rockabilly vibe too. I'll be rocking your shirt and spreading the word.

How many people does one pizza serve?

One hungry person or 2 light eaters (perhaps with a salad). I usually bring 2 slices home. So good!

The service was chill, laid back and very friendly. I felt like I was being served by good welcoming friends. One downside was the server who took our order, forgot to put it in the computer which caused a 45 minute delay. Taking it in stride he immediately offered to comp the whole meal and drinks, taking the blame upon himself. Stand up guy! I offered to at least pay for the drinks and he wouldn't let me. Regardless of the time delay, we had a great time and the food was outstanding. We will be back.

Happy to report that he is no longer with the company. The young man at the front was extremely welcoming and changed our whole experience from the time we walked in. Definitely better than previous times. Isabel was our waitress and she was wonderful. She was very personable and you could tell she really cared about her customers. I tried the cheese tortellini fungi this time around and it was the best dish I have ever eaten here. I have also tried the chicken piccata, which is an excellent choice. The short rib entrée is very juicy and tender, and I highly recommend that also. The Caesar salad is served with anchovies on top which I love. And don't even get me started on the bread service. All in all today was a fantastic visit at Piero's Pizza Vino. From the friendly welcome at the front door to the excellent service by Isabel. My father, who is 86…read moreyears old and has a physical disability, was looking forward to visiting after hearing about your happy hour from friends. Upon arrival, we were informed that happy hour is only available in the bar area, which we understood completely. However, the bar area exclusively features high-top tables, which my father is unable to use due to his disability. When I explained this and requested a low-top table as an accommodation, we were told that no alternative could be provided. I want to respectfully but firmly note that failing to provide accessible seating options for guests with disabilities is not only a gap in hospitality -- it may also raise concerns under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires places of public accommodation to make reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes. We drove down the street to another establishment who gladly made the accommodations.

It's affordable which brings in the crowds. Your fun pizza shop with the classic red and white checkered table cloths. There's patio seating that warps around the restaurant with misters for the hot day. Inside, it's pretty decent in size but not big. We've always seated ourself when we popped in as there's also some tables available. They normally tell you take a table with menus on it if it's available. Unless there's a line. Pizzas can be purchase by the slices as well. We've been mixing up lately with half and half on the large pizza. Also, it's nice to start off with a salad. We normally go with the antipasto but this visit, I went with their individual Caesar salad. Decent size with a heap loads of Parmesan shaving and crouton. Dressing was really nice as well. Pizza wise, a split with the Charlie Sheen, red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, smoked bacon, chorizo, meatballs, shaved Asiago, and topped with an herb that looks like parsley. Their words...lol... And tiger sauce, not tiger blood. Their words again...lol. The other half, Comeback, garlic infused olive oil, light mozzarella, caramelized onions, smoked bacon, ricotta, Asiago cheese, and finished with a curry honey drizzle and fresh parsley flakes. Out of all the combos I've had here, this would be my favorite so far. Both pizza were excellent and the size is pretty big. Perfect for sharing. Food is alway good and very reasonable. Drinks are pretty cheap as well. Service has alway been great with friendly staff. I've only been to the Palm Springs location so may need to try the Palm Desert next.
