This was our first time visiting Bucatini, which is surprising because we live really close by. I'm not sure what took us so long! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in a great corner location in the shopping center and has a very welcoming entrance and friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is beautiful, with high ceilings, large windows, and comfortable booths overlooking Cook Street, the I-10 exit, and the surrounding mountain scenery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a ton to offer, and if you're craving pasta or pizza, be prepared to have a hard time deciding because everything sounds delicious. The food and service made a great first impression, but I do have one major criticism that I sincerely hope the owner takes seriously because it had a huge impact on our experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The air conditioning simply isn't adequate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I even confirmed with our waitress that the A/C was running, but the restaurant had very poor air circulation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was dining with my wife and our almost 2-year-old, and in less than 20 minutes I was sweating heavily. It became so uncomfortable that we wanted to leave as soon as we finished our meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can only imagine how difficult it must be for the staff to work an entire shift in those conditions. I made a yelp just to leave a review of how bad my experience was. I had a very disappointing experience here. My partner and I were seated and then completely ignored by our server. We waited for 15 minutes without being acknowledge in any way. What made this especially uncomfortable was that every other table around us (who were white)was being attended to promptly. Our waiter looked at us multiple times and still never came over. The only person who was kind and professional was the hostess, who did her best, but that doesn't make up for the rest of the experience. We were getting strange looks but we didn't not expect the same energy from the employees. We then decided to leave. Whether intentional or not, the situation felt discriminatory and left us feeling unwelcome. Dining out should not make anyone feel invisible. I hope management takes this seriously and looks into how guests are treated on the floor. Such a shame would've left no stars if it was an option. read more

Usually I always check yelp reviews before eating at a restaurant & I didn't this time, lesson learned! We called and ordered a Large pepperoni, mushroom & olive pizza they said 40 mins. Ok, [[HIGHLIGHT]]when I picked it up the restaurant was completely empty except the 1 cook & the hostess.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He came with the pizza which I then said I ordered the large, he said we only gave 1 size, they should have told me that earlier when I called. Bucatini is a long time favorite of mine when in the desert. A bit out of the way is why we don't frequent this location as much as we like to but when we do make it, it's a treat. I appreciate that they get you in and out here but also don't make you feel rushed. The food comes out at a good pace and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Bucatini has one of my favorite sangrias in the desert! I love this sangria, it's strong and the right amount of sweetness. Always my go to drink here. Normally I opt for their pasta specials and they always seem to hit. I had one of their ravioli specials with a creamy pink sauce and sausage, it was absolutely delicious. My mom's a big fan of their pizza, it's cheesy and a solid option for those pizza lovers in your life. The food here is delicious. The portions was definitely huge. Loved the salad that was my favorite. Pasta was okay it was fresh but lacked flavor. Pizza was good as well. Drinks were okay. They gave out some bread basket that I didnt like it was slice bread toasted in a fancy way. The service was slow. I think there was only one waiter going around. My only gripe was the pricing for the gluten free option. The regular pasta seems to all be home made. Mine was great. My wife's gluten free pasta was clearly just from a box. That's not a deal breaker, but why up charge $6.00, on top of a simple pasta dish that was already $28, leaving you with a $34 plate of boxed noodles. Add on the $5 glass of soda and you paid enough for your single dish that you could have eaten outside of a strip mall. Again it was fine. No complaints about the taste of the food at all. Everything was great until the guy tried to rip us off with not only an automatic tip when there was two people to each bill, but it was 40%, I think he thought we were too drunk to notice. When we got to our table, our server told us not to order any pizzas because there was only one gentleman working the pizza kiln. They were backed up. He also told us the kitchen was in total chaos so only order a salad and an appetizer. We ordered the Italiana salad, which was excellent. It took about 20 minutes to get the salad. After that, our appetizer never came and the server had to repeatedly go back to the kitchen to check. We ordered the rice Balls. When they finally arrived, they were frozen in the middle. At that point we had to leave to get to the concert on time. I saw the manager moving about the restaurant and he looked completely out of it. He never once checked on our table to see how we were doing. Knowing that there's a concert venue just down the road one would think that you would plan ahead for an influx of customers. It's in the corner of a shopping center which made it easy to find ( not being from this area), the atmosphere is casual, and they have a lot NICE BOOTHS,which I prefer over tables and chairs. We were staying with friends out in Palm Desert and his wife wanted to try this restaurant because her usual place had burnt down and she needed an alternative. Found this place close to our hotel. Went early evening and thrre were lots of tables available so we were seated right away. Restaurant is big with open air and outside seating. We ordered Calamari Fritti, Prosciutto Flatbread and linguini Alla Vongole. The Calamar Fritti came out fast. It was not crispy but it was tender and good. We requested a non spicy sauce so it came out with a maribara sauce. The sauce was really good with lots of chopped basil. We wiped that out quickly. Prosciutto flatbread was just ok. The Vongole was good with lots of clams. The sauce was very flavorful and not salty at all. It was just perfect. Service was good. I am glad I didn't read the somewhat lukewarm reviews for Bucatini before spotting it across the street from our hotel. We would have missed out on a lovely (and convenient) dining experience that we both thoroughly enjoyed. We were seated promptly and our waiter "Julio" was very professional and attentive. We both enjoyed our entrees which were a well-prepared pappardelle bolognese and a pesto pasta with chicken added in. (See picture.) Julio was great about checking in on us and refilling my lemonade before I even asked. Honestly, this would be an easy " slam dunk" 5 star review, but we found the bread that was served before our meal was a bit peculiar and uninspired. Also, our Sangria was not very authentic or well mixed - the flavor being very unbalanced. The calamari, a sad portion as my wife would say it, looked smaller than a portion of onion rings, 7 small rings. The meatballs there were only 3 balls for $15, wife said they tasted old. My salad wasn't bad, but if the salad is called smoked salmon please have move than one sliver of salmon, there was more bacon and apples than anything. Call it a bacon apple salad please. Small Italian restaurant in a good location. We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted something close. Bucatini was right across the street and we ended up walking in on a Friday night. We were a party of 7 and were seated immediately. Service was fast and we ordered drinks and our entrees within 15 min of sitting down. Food came out so fast that it beat our appetizers to the table, which was a little odd but we were okay with it. I ordered the Sicily martini which was too sweet and artificial tasting for me, but the food was great. I had the gnocchi and the texture and sauce were perfect.
