I have been to this restaurant on many occasions, but have never left a review until today. They used to have a very rude host and I never understood why he was in the hospitality industry. Happy to report that he is no longer with the company. The young man at the front was extremely welcoming and changed our whole experience from the time we walked in. Definitely better than previous times. Isabel was our waitress and she was wonderful. She was very personable and you could tell she really cared about her customers. I tried the cheese tortellini fungi this time around and it was the best dish I have ever eaten here. I have also tried the chicken piccata, which is an excellent choice. The short rib entrée is very juicy and tender, and I highly recommend that also. The Caesar salad is served with anchovies on top which I love. And don't even get me started on the bread service. All in all today was a fantastic visit at Piero's Pizza Vino. From the friendly welcome at the front door to the excellent service by Isabel. We will be back to try many more of their fantastic entrees. read more

My father, who is 86 years old and has a physical disability, was looking forward to visiting after hearing about your happy hour from friends. Upon arrival, we were informed that happy hour is only available in the bar area, which we understood completely. However, the bar area exclusively features high-top tables, which my father is unable to use due to his disability. When I explained this and requested a low-top table as an accommodation, we were told that no alternative could be provided. I want to respectfully but firmly note that failing to provide accessible seating options for guests with disabilities is not only a gap in hospitality -- it may also raise concerns under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires places of public accommodation to make reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities. We had a wonderful dinner last night here! We walked in and only had to wait around 10 minutes for a party of 4. Our waitress Orissa was FANTASTIC! She made our experience great, was super kind, and was just fun. We had a hard time deciding on what to order since there were so many great options. Both my kids crushed their meals and really liked their choices- cheese pizza and chicken tenders and fries. They were stoked that the meal also came with a dessert option at the end. I ordered the burrata bolognese and it was 10/10. One of my favorite dishes of the trip. My husband got the spaghetti with meatball which was great, but he wished it would have maybe ventured out. We liked our Chianti bottle we ordered and it paired well with our meal. Overall we had great service, wonderful food, including the bread service- you have to ask for which including a chili infused oil olive which was so tasty. Had a great experience here from the warm Italian hospitality to the tasty food. For food, my friend and I shared: - Fried Zucchini Blossoms: These were good and I liked the batter. However, these were stuffed with too much ricotta cheese which was a bit overpowering. Also, would've preferred if this was more savory, the ricotta and honey made this a tad too sweet for my taste. - Bubba Bubba Pizza: Yummy white pizza. The dough was cooked well and it was crispy. The toppings were cheesy and I liked the caramelized veggies. If the toppings were spread out more evenly, it would be perfect. - Rigatoni Bolognese: Loved the garlicky and meaty bolognese sauce and the burrata was a nice cold and creamy contrast. The noodles were a bit too hard though, harder than the traditional al dente. Would've been nice if they were cooked longer. The service was great and our Italian server was super friendly, accommodating, and personable. Overall, a great experience here. Upon arrival we were met with service that was curt and unwelcoming. Manny, the manager, should not be working in hospitality because he doesn't understand customer service. We wanted a different table for our party and he had a "take it or leave" attitude. The food prices are incredibly high for subpar food that could be duplicated at a chain restaurant and probably better. The dark, dingy restaurant feels out of place for such a beautiful street. We have come here on and off for many years and things seem to be getting progressively worse. Made reservations on the same day for 8pm. That was the only time they had opening. Fortunately, Frank called me back and said there were openings at 7pm. So we took it. The place was super crowded. We waited for 35minutes for our table. The people before us closed out the bill,but did not leave!! The host finally talk to them to nudge them to leave after 30 minutes of waiting. We had a party of 8. LC was our waitress and she was absolutely great! A positive attitude and communicator , served with a smile! Our food came quickly! We all ordered different pizza and a salad. The crust soft and pizza tasty. The meat pizza was ordered. Salad was fresh and large amount for both of us. We parked on the street, but found out there was parking in the back. We came here last year and remember it was so busy and hard to get waiters atttention to get water refills and order our dinner. This time. We waited for 30 minutes for our table despite having reservations. Food was delicious, but would give 3.5 stars due to the waiting. First visit, but we had a good experience from the expansive menu to attentive service. The restaurant is surprisingly large and we were seated in the large back room. We enjoyed calamari and bruschetta for starters and the calamari was great. Bruschetta meh. Penne alla vodka had a creamy red sauce, and added chicken for protein. Pasta primavera was also excellent, both during dinner and for leftover lunch the next day. Chicken parm also got a good review. Next time we'll give pizza a try as all the pies we saw being served looked delicious. There are lots of good restaurants on El Paseo, but this one has passed the test of time. read more

My family just had a very disappointing experience at Piero's PizzaVino tonight that I want to share for any other families choosing where to eat in the desert. (We have been coming to Piero's on and off for close to 15 years, which made the experience especially upsetting.) We were there tonight celebrating my mom's recent stable scan after her stage 4 cancer diagnosis -- a meaningful occasion. We were seated directly next to the bar (aka loud) with my four-year-old and 16-month-old twins. Like many toddlers, the twins had moments of being loud, but nothing extreme or unsafe. We were completely surprised and embarrassed when we were asked to leave because of the noise. I understand restaurants needing to maintain an enjoyable environment for guests, but the lack of compassion and flexibility was really disheartening, especially considering the setting and circumstances. The food and atmosphere may work well for some, but based on our experience, I would caution families with young children before dining here. read more

We came here on a weeknight. We had a reservation at 5 and although it wasn't very busy, it got busier as the night went on. We came hoping for live music as written in the description but there was none. Despite that, the service was exceptional. Our server josh was so kind and knowledgeable about the restaurant and their food. The owner came by and was very kind with our children as well. We got the bubba bubba pizza- I thought it was slightly lacking in flavor but we added some of the garlic and chili oils to it and that knocked it out of the park. The bread, pizza dough, and chocolate bark we got after the meal were all made in house, which is so cool! I also got a small (it was quite large) garden salad and that was good as well. read more

First time here last night and it did not disappoint! The food was all delicious. We ordered the squash blossoms for an appetizer. They were drizzled with honey which made them a bit sweet - we added a bit of salt and some red pepper flakes and that put them over the top. Then we split a Caesar salad. This had a few whole cloves of soft roasted garlic and was delicious. Hubby ordered linguine with clams and shrimp - yummy. I ordered the mushroom pizza - excellent. Our waiter, Victor, was amazing and so helpful and friendly. He brought us bread (you need to request it) because it was our first time there, and it came with both garlic and chili dipping oils which were both outstanding. There are several areas in which to be seated - we were in the main dining room which was a bit loud. Next time we will request the wine room. There is also outdoor seating available. This place was recommended by the hotel we were in and yes, it was just perfect in every way! We did not have a reservation but showed up there around 6:30. They were able to accommodate us in the patio. Would strongly recommend a reservation to avoid disappointment. We ordered a portion of Garlic bread with cheese. Also, they brought us some bread and dips. (It is complimentary but served only if you ask for it). Both these were super yummy, especially the oils that came for dipping the house bread. For main we got a veggie pizza and it was amazing too. Just the right ratio of sauce, toppings and bread; we loved the pizza! The place got busy by the time we left. I gave my husband a taste and his response was exactly the same... watery. Likely too much of the ice from the shaker made it into the cocktail. Also... I asked for a Margherita pizza and paid the up charge for buffalo mozzarella... when my pizza arrived it had cold cheese that appeared to look like ricotta cheese... I asked our waiter and he assured me it was buffalo mozzarella. I asked him why it wasn't cooked on the pizza and he explained it's put on at the end. Our waiter was kind and offered to return the pizza to the kitchen but we had to go soon so I kept it and ate it. It wasn't bad... but in my opinion it was not an authentic Margherita. read more

Stopped in to kill some time while my partner was at work. Decided to try this spot because of the amazing reviews and it didn't disappoint. Managed to snag the last seat at the bar for my little solo hang and it was perfect. Unknowingly showed up for Happy Hour and ordered off that menu. Got the house Sauvignon Blanc; roasted artichokes; meatballs; and Margherita pizza. Everything was awesome (although if you don't want to work for your food, maybe skip the artichokes). Meatballs were tasty and loved the crunchy crostini that came with. Marg pizza was a perfect marg pizza. Louis and the bar staff were super nice and took great care of not only myself, but everyone seated there. It was a great vibe throughout the restaurant. I've been a frequent patron of Pizza Vino for a number of years now. The food is good So it is sad that we will never be back. This evening my husband, children and self came for an early dinner. The service started a little slow especially for how empty the restaurant was at this time. We were there for about 20 minutes before ordering any food. My children are 18m and 3 years old. The table we were seated at was Inside but up against the outdoor patio just beside our table was the door leading out which they had open. I let my son off of my lap to go to his dad and instead he stood in the doorway just beside our table I immediately got up and grabbed him just as the manager Manny was about to sit a table out on the covered patio. I apologize and said excuse us and took 1 foot backwards Back into my seat. My son was not more than an arms reach from me. Now fast-forward our food is about to be put in by the server who just left our table and I could tell our kids were growing Antsy so I wanted to take them out of the restaurant and for a walk. While getting my daughter out of her seat I had my back turned to my son and he once again went to walk away from the table, like any parent would I immediately went to grab him up. With that Manny the manager Came over And stated " control your children while you are here" and quickly pransed off before I could even digest what was just said to me. I was incredibly offended at that point and went over to our server to tell him to please not put our food in as we no longer felt comfortable eating there. I have never been spoken to that way by anyone at an establishment and we are frequent diners at very high-end restaurants. Pizza Vino is a casual eatery and I in no way allow my children to run all over a restaurant or cause disruptions. I always take them for walks outside if they grow antsy at the table. Manny "the managers" delivery was Incredibly rude And what was said was not the case. I had control of my children. They were not running all over the restaurant unattended or being some huge Disruption for others. I calmly conveyed to him that his delivery was incredibly offensive and that I worked in the service industry as a manager at one of the most elite clubs in the desert for a number of years and never have I ever handled a situation the way that he did. The only liability in that situation was him. If I was the general manager or owner I would want to know of this behavior so he can be properly trained on how to handle situations that warrant his interjection. This was not one of those situations. We went across the street to their parent restaurant Momma Gina's and had a lovely experience. There are number of restaurants to choose on El Paseo and Pizza Vino will not be one of them again or at least not until Manny the manager has moved on. read more

Great dining experience! My husband I got a reservation on open table and were seated promptly on a busy Saturday night. We ordered the Caesar salad, eggplant rolls and the meat lovers pizza. Just tried to eat at Piero's and the host were quite rude. We initially checked in around 6:15 and were told it would be about an hour wait for a party of 7. Understandable. We walk around El Paseo, and head back a few minutes before that hour, just to check on the status of our table. Host now says it would've been 1:45 wait from when we initially checked in, and that we were not guaranteed a table. I mention how we were told it would've been an hour wait, but then ask to take us off the wait list. Host says "That'll probably be best." As someone who has been to a variety of restaurants, to smaller family owned restaurants to some on the fancier end, I have never received this kind of service. I've been on waitlists before at other restaurants and they are very different to whatever system they have at Piero's. I understand it's a popular spot, but it's apparent they did not want people like us to eat here. Definitely see the other reviewers and their comments on the waitlist and treatment from host. I hope the service can improve in the future, and learn to treat their customers properly, even if they're not white. read more

So disappointed in Piero's. After coming here since 2020, it's turned into one of those "you should be so lucky to be here" places. Shame on the host, Frank, for being so rude he nearly brought my wife to tears. We had a 7:15 reservation, were running early, and called on the ride over. Frank said the walk-in wait for two was about 15 minutes. We told him we were 14 minutes out. His response: "Well, that could change before you get here..." rude from the jump. I dropped my wife to check in while I parked. When I got back, she was visibly upset. Frank told her we couldn't get on the walk-in list because we had a reservation, and that he'd seat us "closer to our reservation," all delivered with zero kindness. She was practically in tears. Blessing in disguise. We went down the street to Trattoria Mezzomondo, also packed, and were welcomed into a true Italian, family-owned spot. They walked us through the menu and specials with care. The homemade pasta was extraordinary? you could taste the love. The host/owner, Luda, was an absolute delight and genuinely wanted us to feel taken care of. It felt like going to Grandma Marie's back in the day. The cherry on top? The receipt said it all: "Remember, we are cooking for you." Exactly. I can't recommend Mezzo enough. Maybe Frank was having a bad day, but I doubt it, and I won't be giving him another shot. Frank, go eat at Mezzo. Experience Luda. I tried this place this past summer and I havent been able to stop thinking about it since then. This was the best pasta and pizza I have had in a long time. We tried a pizza, a pesto pasta (insanely good), and a vodka sauce pasta (my favorite, must try). I didnt even get a chance to take a pic of the pasta because we inhaled it so fast, but look how delicious the pizza looks!! I live in LA, otherwise I would be a local at this place if I could. We were looking for a place with Neapolitan Pizza and came across this place. We are so glad that we did! What a great find. We arrived closer to 6pm and the place was busy but luckily we were able to get seated. We stared of with drinks , I got a glass of wine (Josh Cellars) and my husband ordered a beer ( Peroni) . We ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad was split for us. It is a romaine lettuce wedge with blue cheese , ranch dressing and pine nuts and tomatoes. For our entree ordered the bubba buba pizza bianca which had caramelized onions and Italian sausage and mushrooms. The white sauce was delicious and creamy. The pizza dough was amazing. My husband and I both loved it. We were going to pass on dessert and decided to ask our server Elcie if we're missing out not getting dessert, and she said all of their desserts were delicious. So we decided to get the tiramisu which she said was amazing. She was not wrong it was so good not overly sweet and the cream was not too rich and the chocolate on top was amazing.
