What a cute little Italian restaurant owned by two Sicilian brothers in Palm Desert. The food was delicious, we had the linguine con le vongole and we requested it with red sauce or "sugo" as we say in Sicilian. I also had the affogato desert(espresso poured over gelato). Dined with them last evening and what a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were part of a family. Our server was gracious and attentive providing excellent care for our group. The restaurant is cozy and warm with interesting art work creating a comfortable ambiance. The beverages of wine and martinis were awesome. The meal...OMG! I don't know where to begin. From the bread, to the fresh bruschetta salad and then the entrees of chicken picotta, sea bass in linguine pasta and the pork chop....each was superbly prepared and presented. I had higher hopes for this place as I'm searching for some really good quality Italian here in the desert. The small patio area was enclosed and cute with fake greenery, string lights, and a backdrop of an Italian town. They had the heaters on and it felt like you're sitting inside with the way it warmed up. Make sure you have a reservation as all of the tables had reserved signs and started to fill up as the evening went on. Despite the warm atmosphere, the food was simply okay. It also seemed like it catered to more of an American taste because we were told if it's not on the menu (like chicken parmesan and alfredo) they could still make it. The cacio e pepe was oily and the sauce just slid right off the noodles. The gnocchi was not bad but it tasted like something I could make at home. I've tried a couple recipes myself. The bolognese pappardelle was decent though. It was probably the best dish out of what we ordered. It was the sauce. The martinis were good and more subtle, but overall we felt underwhelmed with the meal itself. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for about 2 years, but my husband and i don't go out very much. Finally we went. We should had been coming here when we wanted Italian food. Very small restaurant, with intimate seating. Clearly a lot of regulars. The workers took time to talk to their regulars (which is awesome) but also made sure us newbies had a good experience too. Answering all our questions, summer months isn't very busy anywhere, but i assume during season you'll want reservations. Our server was really friendly, the hostess was just as friendly and helpful. My husband ordered dessert from her, which i cringed a little, as i wasn't sure if that was an annoying thing to do. But they didn't seem to mind. All of the staff seemed to work together to ensure a good experience. My husband ordered the pork chop with pasta i ordered the lobster and pasta (i don't know what it's called). My partner is going to Palermo, Sicily, this summer and he read that the two brothers who run this restaurant were from there. He wanted to ask for advice on where to go and what to see. In my opinion this restaurant is no more than a 3.5. I honestly not understand the 4.7 rating which is why I had dinner at this restaurant which was mediocre at best. The only stand out item was the desert at the end of the dinner. The. Bread was too dry. The Mediterranean salad was was so so in taste . My wife had the pork chop Milan and in my opinion do not order this very plain flat breaded flattened pork chop which did not even have much taste. I was very much looking forward to the Fettuccine Lobster. This dish had very little taste and would have been much better if they used sweet tender Main Lobster. Unfortunately they used the less expensive Pacific Lobster which had very little flavor. I could not believe we had no alcohol I only ordered Pepsi and All of the above was an overpriced $130 dollars! Unfortunately my final judgment we shall not return to this restaurant. read more

Food was fabulous and not overly priced . If you haven't been here it's a must while you're on vacation in Palm Desert. We had been told by many of our friend that we needed to try Tiramisu. I kept putting off going for one reason or another but decided to go for a drink and appetizers. The experience was so good that it turned from drinks and appetizers to a total dining experience. We were greeted with great warmth and enthusiasm by one of the brothers who are co-owners in the restaurant. We seated at a nice table toward the back of the restaurant. The 5 star service started immediately with the attentive staff offering choices for water and dropping off a basket of bread accompanied by several delicious spreads. We order Martinis, asked if their blue cheese olives were from a jar. The waiter looked confused, replying "No, we hand stuff them here". Then we asked if they charged for the blue cheese olives ( which is an LA thing that seems to have made it out to some restaurants in Palm Springs). He replied " Why would we charge you for a garnish?" FINALLY! Now feeling validated, I lean into the vibe of the restaurant that cues me in that this may be a very special night. The Martinis arrive and are as we requested. We ordered a appetizer of carpaccio and a beet salad which were both tasty and well presented. Our main course was Osso Buco which was offered as a veal shank ( we have not seen this in a restaurant as veal is the tradition part of its preparation), which we ask to be split so we can share. The brother who sat us suddenly is rolling a table side cart toward us. He presents the dish and proceeds to split the dish table side for us. We order a bottle of wine and the experience continues to grow. Dessert is Tiramisu which lived up to our expectation. To top it off they have Black Sambuca which most restaurants no longer carry. Here's the best part, there are no extra charges or fees. They are happy to have you and cannot do enough for you. No split charges, no charge for extra bread. Dining here is the way it should be and it is an opportunity to feel good about going out again. read more
