Il Gusto is not only one of THE best hole in the wall restaurants, it is also THE best Italian we've had in the area! Though spartan, the classic vibes and service are very welcoming! We had better service here than most "normal" sit down restaurants. And the food...not one item we have tried was bad, the vast majority have been the best in their category. Best mozzarella sticks: it's obvious it's a higher quality mozz than whatever everyone else uses. Crispy perfection! Best GF/cauliflower pizza: lots of toppings to choose from (though somehow chicken isn't an option on DD) and again, from the mushrooms to the sauce, you can taste the difference. They make the sauces in house! According to my husband, best Chicken Parm he has had since moving here! You get a healthy portion. And...best cannoli in the area! Growing up in a predominantly Italian and Polish area, I have been lucky to have REALLY good Italian pastries...and their cannoli was reminiscent of those times. This has been the ONLY cannoli in the greater Cincy area that is worth consuming, IMO. All in all, we would dine in at Il Gusto constantly, if we lived closer. Glad they're on DoorDash though! A friend recommended this place to me and I'm so glad we went! It's in a strip mall and it's authentic. There's not much seating inside, but there's enough since many people seem to order things to go. I love a good calzone so I went for the meat lovers. The outside was perfectly crispy and the inside was filled. The ratio of crust to filling was perfect. These calzones are also huge so I definitely got two meals out of it. Had a large Deluxe pizza from Il Gusto the other night and it was amazing. The crust was nice and crisp. The toppings were plentiful. It was tasty on day 2 warmed up in the oven. We got the margarita pizza with a Italian sub the trio sampler pasta thing and chicken roll it was our first time here. My brother chose it at random for his birthday dinner. The pasta dish was good filled with cheese. My brother said the chicken roll was really tasty but almost too much cheese. Descent NY Style pizza but not as thin as I was expecting in authentic slices. My family was hanging out at a local attraction and I had been craving a good NY style pizza. This place was within reach for Door Dash, so we went with it. It took a longer amount of time for the pizza to be prepared and sent our way, but it was also busy evening hours. The pizza arrived hot and looked really nice. It was a good pizza overall but I personally struggled with the sauce and the crust being too thick. Authentic NY style will have that large thin foldable crust that if you have small hands, you have to use two to eat it. Regardless, my kids loved it and didn't seem to mind at all. Wonderful! We ordered delivery today after a long day of work. We got a small deluxe pizza, some meatballs, and 6 garlic knots. It was far more food than we could eat. My husband dislikes pizza. Notoriously. He will deign to eat Italianette occasionally because it's fresh. He really liked this. The crust is flatter, more late night slice thickness. Ingredients are very nice though. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The meatballs and garlic knots were key for me though. The garlic knots were huge, fluffy, crispy in all the right places and most importantly covered in garlic. Moved to North Cincy a year ago. We have been trying all of the pizza places within 20 miles of where we live. Il Gusto was on my list as the reviews on Google and Yelp are the HIGHEST of all pizza places within at least 100 miles of here. Everyone was RIGHT! HOLY MOLY! My partner and I have never found an Italian restaurant we love in this city, however, upon visiting this eatery we were very impressed. This will be the place we eat at when we are craving Italian food as it rivals some of our favorites out of town. It is on the more expensive end- 1 large pizza, 1 slice of tiramisu and 2 sodas with a $3 tip was $35, but not unreasonable. The food is great and the ingredients are fresh. There are some nice Cincinnati suburbs, but the nondescript shopping center which houses this tiny pizza outlet does not look like one of them. The place has a couple of tables inside and an open kitchen; it wasn't even clear to me that a customer would be able to use a restroom in there. But the quality of the food was quickly evident. A margherita was more expensive than the basic pizza, and I thought the fresh mozzarella would justify it. When it comes to things like this, it's not like this place can reinvent the wheel; it's more about the quality of ingredients and the execution in preparing them. The result here was a luminous pizza with a thin crust delivering a complex flavor with warm, slightly fruity cheese and zingy basil. I haven't had a pizza that tasted better anywhere in Ohio (or Kentucky, for that matter). A garlic bread with cheese was as indulgent as promised. Besides a few salads that didn't really excite me, this place was pretty much entirely a wheat and cheese establishment. But if you're looking for something that tastes Italian, that reminds you of why you'd want to go roaming through random shopping centers looking for that taste, this is it. read more

This is a little place in Dillonvale shopping center. My husband stopped in today and picked up a small (12 inch) Cheese Pizza with Mushrooms for lunch. The service was quick and friendly. The Stromboli was not as good as I had hoped. It was average with great dough and great dipping sauce. The cheese to topping ratio was off, I pulled out a ton of cheese and threw it away. I am all about their pastas, my favorite is their little pasta sampler the Il Gusto, it has lasagna, manicotti, and stuffed shells, a real cheese lovers paradise. Comes with some of the best garlic knots out there and a very small side salad with amazing dressing. Their sandwiches are great too. Had a meatball sub that had some of the best bread for one, crispy on the outside yet rigid and soft on the inside, perfectly matching what the big tasty meatballs need.
