This was our second time ordering from two cities. We travel from out of town at least once a year. I think their pizza is phenomenal and their ranch dressing is delicious. I wish their bootleg bread was a little bigger for the price, but again this flavor can't be beat! We had the stockyard pizza, house, salad, pepperoni bootleg bread, and we ordered an extra container of branch to take home with us. I will also note that both times I've gone to two cities, the young person at the counter was genuinely kind and courteous. It was just enough to mention that I noticed, because many times anymore that is missing from customer service in general. Please come to this restaurant if you are in the Cincinnati area! First, I wish to state that I am not from Ohio and that this is my first time eating at Two Cities, but this restaurant might be my favorite pizza shop going forward. Second, I only had two of the items on the menu but so many of the other options on the menu looked amazing as well. This Two Cities was built inside the old city hall of Mason, with Mason being a cozy little town in of itself. The restaurant smells amazing upon entering, course it would because they cook their food fresh. It's even got a little ramp that leads down to the main seating area for mobility impaired persons. My first minor issue with this Two Cities was that the booth I was sitting at was slightly raised by a literal step, which nearly made me trip while exiting the booth because I hardly noticed getting into the booth due to my height (6'3 at the time of writing review). There are other booths though that are not raised, so an opinion is to be based of where you are seated. My waitress was really kind and offered a helpful opinion when I was deciding on which pizza to get after being seated by a host. The waitress also allowed me to put in my order all at once (drink, appetizer, and entree). The appetizer (garlic parmesan fries) arrived fast and were undoubtedly scrumptious; the fries were a near perfect mix of crunchy and soft with the shredded parmesan and minced garlic adding extra flavor. Their ranch is also superb. I got the 13" Rhythm Road Pizza (which I shared with someone. I could not eat half of a deep dish pizza alone) and it was something else. Most importantly, it had MASHED POTATO on it instead of a traditional pizza sauce and notably, chipotle aioli drizzled on top (there are more toppings, of course, but they're more normal toppings). Unfortunately, the pizza slices were unevenly sliced, leading to inconsistent slice size and the toppings slide off the pizza easily when scooped up with the provided pizza spatula, all minot grievances of course. The only true complaint I had with this Two Cities was that my waitress did not actively seek out to refill my glass when it was empty. I will say that my drink was not close to the edge for her to see, but it was within view from any view of the table. There were a relatively high number of customers in the restaurant for the time I was there (about an hour before closing), so I don't hold it against her for not noticing. The cups were average size, so I wasn't exactly dying of thirst while dining. The music inside was of good taste and was at a very respectable volume. The other patrons were also well mannered and I had no need to raise my voice to speak to my dining buddy. The final thing I wish to add to this review is how nice the bathroom was. They were very clean, had two urinals (short and tall), one wheelchair accessible stall, nice smelling soap, a simple water control handle, a foot doorhandle, and MOUTHWASH. This is only public building I have ever been in that has offered complementary mouthwash, let alone a bathroom. This could be an Ohio or Midwest exclusive thing, but I enjoyed using the mouthwash nonetheless. read more

I'd been wanting to give this place a try for several years. With DLM opening up in that area, I ventured up there to visit both places! It's super cute, with a Chicago/New York fusion decor/vibe. They offer a thinner, New York style crust, as well as a Chicago style deep dish crust. Many things to choose from on the menu, but I wanted to keep it simple and opted for a small pizza. Knowing it was my first time, the server was quite helpful and cheerfully offering suggestions, which I'll keep in mind for future visits. The crust on the pizza was very tender, not chewy at all like some places can be. I don't mind a chewy crust, but I definitely appreciated the tenderness in this one. They go pretty light with the pizza sauce so I got a side of pizza sauce to dip my pizza. Perfect!!! This place is perfect for groups of all sizes and families as well. Getting in at Two Cities requires a bit of a wait at peak times but it's worth it. Unless you have a really strong preference, I recommend ordering one of each style. For four people, we ordered the Cabbie (NY style) and Windy City (Chicago deep dish) as well as the Bootleg Bread and Mac & Cheese fritters. (We did have pizza leftover.) The Cabbie was the surprise of the evening. None of us had had potatoes on pizza before, and I gotta say, it's better than it has any right to be. Rich, creamy, comforting. Really delicious. The Windy City is a solid deep dish rendition as well. Maybe not as stacked as you'd expect from Lou Malnati or Giordano's but honestly, that was fine with me! I liked the ratio of cheese, crust and toppings, and I'd order it again. read more

Finally made it out to mason after seeing so many reviews on chowdown and I'm so glad I did! I'm a big pizza lover and two cities did not disappoint! Our server was awesome, the restaurant was themed so cute and our food was even better! We tried the cracked pepper Caesar salad which was good but had too much pepper and the NY finest pizza which was delicious! I liked that their red sauce was different and the crust was so buttery and soft. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed with many families waiting however, the bar area is first come first serve and we walked right up to a table. Friday night pickle lodge off Tylersville rd. ordered 20 wings and salad with large deep dish pepperoni pizza. wings were flavored well - but the size of the wings were very small. cooked great but needed to be bigger - they weren't cheap. Pizza had maybe 6 slicecs of pepperoni and really couldn't find them. Pizza was undercooked and had NO flavor. Very disappointing dinner from them as I have been here many times. First, the staff is amazing and incredibly engaged. Great draft beer selection and local beers on tap. The Bootleg Bread is a must get. Delicious house made ranch! Did a call in and pick up of pizza. It was our first time and so glad we found a good Chicago deep dish pizza in Cincinnati. The staff were very good and attentive when I got in the door. It was a Friday and the place was packed to the brim. This says a lot about the food when there is a line out the door. Be aware that Chicago Deep Dish will take about an hour from time of ordering to pick up on busy nights. It is well worth the wait! The pizzeria is located in the old Mason city hall building, and it feels like you are walking into history, as it is an old Art Deco style building. read more

Food it incredible, that's the only good thing. First time I went there a worker was incredibly disrespectful to me to the point where we didn't even get our food yet and decided to switch to takeout and leave then the waitress gave me the most ungenuine apology ever. Left an email to the owner and the owner was nice and gave us a refund and said he would talk to the staff. Reguardless of that situation I waited for awhile because I was scared to go again but the next few times it was a fine experience and food was good as ever. Until yesterday, joined waitlist like usual and we check in and are told a time and a spot that we are in line. Next thing I know we went 2 spots back so I guess their system is anyone can join the waitlist at anytime in the day then get a seat almost as soon as they walk in rather than the typical restaurant where you have to be there by a certain time or you get taken off the waitlist or moved to the back of the line. So apparently they can tell us we have 15 minutes then it could change to an hour and we could be last in line just by sitting there and waiting. This is the most inconvenient and uncoordinated waitlist system I've ever encountered so I'll have to stick to carry out because thats the only thing ever consistent here and I can't just have a nice simple dine in experience. read more

I love restaurants in historical building plus they were voted best pizza a couple years back. We definitely had to check them out. We walked in and I couldn't stop taking pictures. The owner happened to be in the front and greeted us. He gave us a brief history and we walked around a bit. This used to be the mayors office back in the day. When you walk in, it has an outdoor city feel. I love the decor. It's very nostalgic. And wait until you go to the bathroom! It's a subway. I was told this was voted best restaurant bathroom. So they serve New York and Chicago style pizzas. They have specialty , build your own or cauliflower crust & dairy free cheese for dietary restrictions. If you're not feeling pizza , they do serve appetizers, wings, calzones, salads and desserts. We ordered: Drinks: -Cabernet Trim -Ale of two cities Appetizer: -Legendary Parmesan Fries Lunch: -Medium Classic Margherita Add pepperoni We got the Parmesan Garlic Fries as an appetizer and really loved it! It didn't need the ranch dressing but enhanced it. The pizza was amazing! They are on my top 5 list in the Cincy area. The crust tasted really good dipped in the garlic butter sauce. Fresh ingredients on the pizza. Love the robust tomato sauce. Paired well with my wine. We were not expecting this but the owner gave us a complimentary dessert. On the way home from Hocking Hills, my lady and I were wanting pizza, and my lady found this spot on a Google search. Glad she found it because it was excellent and not just for the pizza. The service was awesome, the place has a very unique and classic vibe, and we really enjoyed everything. We stopped in on Sunday a little after 11am. You can tell this building was an old municipal building and they kept pretty much all the old decor. We were immediately greeted by the owner/operator who was very friendly and inviting. He invited us to look all around the place too. He told us that, not only were they voted best pizza in Cincinnati two years, they were also voted best restroom. Seriously, you'll have to check it out, because it looks like a NY subway station complete with the sounds. Our server, Alyssa, was GREAT. Their menu features lots of appetizer options as well as calzones, salads, and both NY and Chicago style pizza. Their libations menu is nice too with a great beer and wine list as well as specialty cocktails. They even have an exclusive pale ale made by Sonder Brewing. Of course, I ordered it, and it was very tasty. My lady ordered a Cabernet for herself. We started with the legendary parmesan fries, which were some of the best fries we'd had in a while, made even better by the house made ranch that came with them. From there, we ordered a medium NY style margherita pizza, half with pepperoni added because they suggested it in the menu. Was that good too? Absolutely! My lady and I couldn't stop raving about it. After we were done, we received an unexpected surprise, in the form of some complimentary "first timer" mini donuts. They made the perfect sweet tooth finish to our meal for sure. A little crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, topped with powdered sugar. We will definitely be coming back here again because everything was so good. We ordered takeout. The pizzas were delicious. We had 2 build-your-own 9" Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. My husband had the red sauce, mozzarella, banana peppers, sausage, pepperoni, and green peppers. I had the signature white sauce, mozzarella, spinach, green peppers, and olives. We haven't tried the New York style yet. My husband and I are now big fans. We grew tired of our favorite go-to joints and decided to try something new. We are glad we did! We had dinner with our family after a visit to Kings Island. I had really high hopes, but I would say our experience was just okay. The positives - the building is pretty and the ambiance hits you as soon as you walk in. The decor is neat and sort of an experience. The pizza was good, not great. The kids chicken tenders were very good, but I felt like there could have been a little more chicken for $9. Our server was nice and quick to refill our water. The not as good - the pizza felt overpriced, maybe we just ordered the wrong items? We didn't have time to wait for Chicago style since the kids were tired. Like I said before, good but not great. Also, there's a 3% charge if you pay via credit card. There is a sign but I missed it and wasn't expecting it; this is on me, but I tend to think of the credit card fee as a cost of doing business, especially when I already felt like the prices were on the higher end for pizza. read more

Two Cities change the size of their large NYC style pizza and it sucks. The crust is to thin and there was very little sauce on it. I bought 3 large pizzas that cost $100. The quality was poor. Over cooked, paper thin crust and very little sauce. I bought these pizza for my house guest. Hardly any of the pizza was eaten. I have over 1 and half pizzas leftover. Been wanting to go here for a few years. Between the long lines and distance from the restaurant never made it (40 minute drive). We decided to go on a Sunday afternoon and surprise they have 50% alcohol from 3-5 everyday. My adult son had 3 different mixed drink specials and I had a bottled cider. They have many specialty beers on draft. If they had a cider draft I would have gotten it. The Chicago pizza was fantastic. My son and I each ordered a large pizza so we would have leftovers. I had the pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and he had pepperoni, sausage, bacon. This is the best pizza we have had in Cincinnati. We have been to Chicago and it was on the same level. They have New York Pizza but didn't want to try based on reviews. We also had the mac n cheese balls. They were a little over fried for me but my son loved them. The service was fantastic. They were obviously short-handed because there was a wait with many open tables. We put our names on the list before leaving home. The staff was very friendly. I spoke to the management while waiting saying this was our first time. He gave us a complimentary donut dessert - small powdered sugar donuts. Half of the pizza went home and it was gone by the next day. The decor is cool. Look at my pictures. Bathrooms are neat. I only saw the mens of course. They won an award for top 10 in country. First let's start with planning to wait. We called in to get on the list at 5 pm on a Saturday. I understand Saturday is a busy night so knew there would be a wait. Was advised it's a hour and a half to hour and forty five minute wait. Our wait ended up being just over 2 hours. Upon sitting down we were greeted by our server Allyssa. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Extremely polite also. She was very attentive and cannot say enough at what a great job she did. She made then evening enjoyable. She didn't hover nor ignore. She just gave us great service. The place has a cool atmosphere and vibe. Don't forget to check out the subway bathroom if you visit. Will say the noise level is above average. Don't be surprised if it's a bit loud. We started with a couple appetizers. The bootleg bread and Mac and cheese balls. We also had a couple side salads. The Waldorf and the Melting Pot. Since there were 4 of us we all got our own personal pizza. 2 New York style and 2 Chicago style. The New York was thin and crispy as one would expect. Toppings were just ok. Unfortunately nothing to brag on. Was still a tasty pizza for what I had. The Chicago style looked kind of sloppy so be prepared. Unfortunately my wife didn't enjoy her pizza at all. I think it is an interesting concept to have two different styles of pizza at the same place. My friend got the Chicago style and really liked it. I got a calzone and a salad. Everything was good.
