We are big fans of heading into the side streets, away from heavily trafficked and likely over priced restaurants, to find our meals. Il Mozzicone was a success. Our 1st night in Rome landed us in a restaurant with a heart. The Cheff special: Tagliollini Granchio and Claudio's (server) recommendation, Tonnarelli Allo Scoglio, were served with deep flavor and soul. The kids were thrilled with their Lasagna and Pizza Quattro Formaggi. Even the Bruschetta Mozzicone set a new standard for palette envy. Thank you Claudio!

great little place that was walking distance from where we were staying. We wandered over here with 4 adults and two babies, and they were very accommodating. My order for the evening was a really nice lasagne. I ordered the local beer as well to accompany my lasagne. I would recommend the beer! :) The portion was a perfect size, and I was quite satisfied. The bread was also quite delicious and I enjoyed more then I needed to :) After dinner, we walked next door to a great little desert spot and enjoyed some gelato. It's a beautiful area to wander around before or after grabbing a bite.

Tiramisu! Was delicious and had a strong coffe flavour!

A very delicious little cafe/pizzeria just down from the Vatican. The food was delicious, everyone on the table was fully satisfied with their meal! Service was better then expected than most cafes in the area. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone! Great for a meal or even just a quick coffee stop. The only problem is that it's very popular and it can be difficult to find a seat, but if you arrive on time you should be able to. All in all great service and food but can be hard to find seats especially if you have 4+ people.

Great place near the Vatican, very interesting carbonara. The mushroom pasta is very good as well, same for the spaghetti with clams. Also tried the caprese- very good, but don't expect balsamic vinegar like what you usually get in America. This is the legit way to do it. I want to come back to try the carpaccio

This is my first time in Italy. I have family here and my parents have traveled here many times. This was the first restaurant I went to in Rome and the food was amazing. My children were in heaven and my wife loved her meal. The staff was so friendly and the service was first class. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone

Happened upon this place our first night in Rome. It was very delicious and filling! We had the Carbonara and Pest Gnocchi. Great service.

Terrible food, everything cold and undercooked. Fried vegetables are old and cold, mashed potatoes are cold, steak was undercooked.

Everyone needs a trip to Italy, if nothing more than to enjoy all of the food…read more When you've landed, you're hungry, and it's not lunch time, and it's not dinner time, you may end up, selling for whatever you can find is open We were absolutely starving, and wanting to indulge in our first Italian meal, what do you do when you're in Italy?! You may want to indulge in pasta or pizza! We walked in, and we were immediately seated. Air conditioning is nonexistent, and on a hot summer day, it would've been cooler to dine outside. had that been an option, and it was 95° out. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately told that Pizza and some of their baked Italian dishes were not going to be available. Boo. The wait staff seemed fairly nice, and offered to bring us glasses of water. The glasses were super tiny, and thankfully the waitress brought over a carafe of water. We asked for a few suggestions, since both of us had been craving pizza, and she suggested the Carbonara. She said it was one of the best dishes. While we were waiting for our food, several other tables were immediately filled up with other customers, families and friends alike. It was interesting that those tables were served pizza... I'll just leave it at that. The carbonara Was anything less than delicious. We both found the pasta to be barely cooked. Not al dente, but barely cooked. The seasoning was mediocre, and there was very little pork, which is supposed to be the highlight of this dish, in this dish. Diners tip: if you are not a local, keep in mind that your version of Customer Service may or may not fit what Customer Service is in Rome. Despite being hungry, I had a hard time, finishing the food, let alone actually eating it. The waitress only came over at the end to drop off the check, and when she noticed that I had barely eaten anything, first gave me a strange look, and then asked about it. It was definitely one of those situations where saying something was wrong would've been met with unwanted attention. This is in a place to add to your must try list... There are plenty of other places, even in and around this area that more than likely would be a better choice.

Bufala pizza with red sauce and lasagna was excellent. Seating was fast and good serviceread more
