Since the remodel the wait time in the drive thru has been terrible. I have waited up to 20 mins in line on multiple occations. In the 25 years I have gone to this café I never had issues on wait time or quality. I loved getting their lunch though they no longer serve it. My latte I get anymore is consistently watery and poor in taste. I loved coming here but over the last year its been consistently sad and lack the quality it once did. read more

I was in Wichita visiting my son, daughter in love, granddaughter and the arrival of my grandson I decide to check out a cafe while here and found this one with great reviews. I enjoyed a hot latte that was delicious and the service was great as well. I will add that when I was about to leave there was a young lady who just picked her cold order and I asked her what it was, she told me and asked if I wanted to taste it...how sweet is that, I declined at first, but then decided to get a straw and dip it to taste. Never again. We've all been patient with the construction and all that mess for months now. But today I watched the drive-thru attendant chat it up with the driver, with 4 cars behind them. This went on for literally 5 minutes. I kept thinking, "They must be making their drinks....". Nope. 5-7 minutes go by, lots of smiles and laughter between the two, and then, the car took off. Are you kidding me? Lots of options these days. Went down the road to the cleaner and much more enjoyable employees at 7 Brew. Good riddance. "Shop local!!!!" they cry. Thankfully I noticed that before ordering and chose the 20oz which was more than big enough. Coffee was great. Loved the hand painted walls. Staff was welcoming. Hands down my favorite coffee place in Wichita. Located at the corner of Central and Woodlawn. I love that it's local and not your typical chain shop. The staff are always super friendly and helpful! You can get a variety of baked goods and light food items. They have wifi, indoor and outdoor seating so you can sit and visit or work on your computer. I love that they have lots of choices of drink to choose from on their wall. I know a lot of people have a "go-to drink" typically but I love that I can come in and choose something at random every time I'm here. They sell coffee rated products and other merch. They also have a counter where other businesses and retailers can leave business cards so they can also support local as well. This place has a lot of heart. read more

I arrived in Old Town a little early in preparation for the bar crawl that would later ensue. My body was ready, but since I had some time to kill, I guess I could caffeine it up with some coffee. I've been to Mead's Corner plenty of times, though, so what about Il Primo? I've only driven past it, like, eight dozen times since moving here, and have yet to figure out what's going on in there. I arrived and made my way to the door, only to find... locked. "Hey dude, we're closed!" exclaimed a various obvious man as he was driving away. Checking my watch, I felt silly for losing track of time, and frustratingly drove off to put it back on my to-do list. The next day I woke up in a room that wasn't mine. The hangover not as bad as I was expecting. I should go home, but on the way I'll I'll try to re-attack Il Primo. The sign advertises 'Seattle-style' coffee. To what that means, I'm not sure. I recently took a trip to that part of the country, though, so I have some experience, and to me, it's all about the cappuccino up there. I had my doubts, but when my order was fulfilled I was returned with a solid, dense foam that was indeed admirable. The espresso was a little gritty, but otherwise it was a fine drink. The one issue I did have was the sourcing of the beans, which are proudly touted as being Panache beans. Panache is a wholesale coffee distributor owned by Coffee Bean International in Portland, Oregon. Judging by the amount of business these distributors pull, it seems like 'Seattle-style' refers to the worldwide reach that other giant roasters like Starbucks employ. Nevermind the Spice House roasting their own beans, or Prairie Fire providing local wholesale beans to the area, part of the Seattle style is the snobbery that comes with knowing you have the best, most local, most unique place in the area. In the 30+ years Il Primo has been in business, the coffee shop hasn't exactly exploded in popularity, but even with the few coffee places that do exist in the city, there's even fewer which are considered a good destination for espresso drinks. I would consider Il Primo to be among one of them. read more

Really average little coffee shop. Not much natural lighting and didn't seem like a great place to stop in for studying. Set up more for a grab and go type of place. They also have a drive-thru. I got a cup of drip coffee, which was just average. I don't think they had any pour over options. Checked out II Primo over the weekend with the family for the first time. I got an iced coffee, the wife a chai tea and my son got a cookie. The drinks were very good and the selection was even better. I was happy to see a small breakfast and lunch menu. The cookie was disappointing and did not get the approval from my 3 year old. The decor seemed out of date and a bit on the dirty side. II Primo has been on the corner of central and Woodlawn for quite sometime from what I understand. It seems like not much has changed or been updated in many years. We will definitely give it another chance maybe try the food even. read more
