This was my second time at this cafe. Service is fast and friendly. The cafe is huge - lots of space to have a group lunch. They even have a little store front. I ordered the veggie sandwich on the honey wheat bread. The sandwich ingredients were fresh but the bread was a bit on the dryer side. Next time I come back, I'll try a different kind. I also ordered the potato salad and an almond cookie. The potato salad was OK - I wouldn't order it again. I would def get another cookie! Great harvest bread was a fantastic lunch stop. I met my aunt here and we had a nice lunch while catching up. I ordered a chai latte but they were out so I opted for the grain salad and tea. They had chai spiced tea so I made my own "latte." The grain salad was delicious. Super good. It came with bread and I chose the "focaccia." While the bread tasted of rosemary and garlic and flavored well, it wasn't a true focaccia; but a flavored bun cut in half. I looked over that aspect and enjoyed my salad. It had greens under several grains and was accompanied with a basalmic cream dressing - which was odd at first. It was hard to spread it throughout the salad but I managed. This little gem in the middle of a back road industrial section is outstanding! When we first stumbled on it, they had a big sign out front for .50 bread and snacks! We bought sacks and sacks! Over time, the price went up, but it's still a good deal, because bread is $1 as loaf while snacks are .69 each. There is a nice section for jelly, peanut butter, salsa, chips, tortillas, meat sticks, etc. Tasty Cakes is the name of the brand on a lot of it. When one lives in a community, and eats breakfast out regularly at various breakfast spots, one develops some expectations. When I visit a restaurant which holds itself out to be on the level of the real food places, as opposed to the I'm in a rush and need to grab something I can eat in the car or at my desk, there are a few things I expect to see. Among those things are flatware which goes back to the kitchen and into a dishwasher, as opposed to flatware which you throw in the trash when you leave, whether it broke or not. I expect a salt shaker and a pepper shaker. I expect to eat off a plate which also makes it to a dishwasher. Three of us stopped here for breakfast. One of us had the cinnamon roll, which was very large and very good. Two of us ordered ham "omelettes made to order." The waitress brought the omelettes and announced that here are the two ham omelettes. I asked which was mine and was told they were both ham. When my friend and I established that she ordered tomato and I did not, I asked which of the two omelettes had tomato in them. She told me I'd have to open it and find out. When I went back to the back to get salt and pepper I learned that they had paper condiment packets over by the napkins and plastic table ware. Instead of a hot sauce like Tabasco or Cholula I was again directed to the condiment packets where there was something called picante sauce. It was so not picante it would have been laughed out of Taco Bell. After searching in the kitchen they found some little butter things. I was pleased that the butter was spreadable and not rock hard from the cold. When we were ready to go, I wanted to buy a loaf of their cinnamon bread. Even at Panera's when you ask for a loaf of bread they take it off the shelf, ask you if you want it sliced, and whether you want a paper or a plastic bag. Here, I was directed to shelves where all the bread was already bagged up and ready to go. When I got the bread home the bottom of the loaf (which cost $6.95) was soggy. Not only had they bagged the bread before anyone wanted it, but they bagged it before it had cooled enough to be in a plastic bag. read more

I've been lazy to start to Yelp but with the excellent customer service I received today, I decided it was time to pay my dues. I was greeted immediately at the door by a woman who later introduced herself as Catherine. As I looked over the menu, she offered some samples that heavily influenced my choices. Catherine was very engaging and warm, and even though her co worker was busy with cleaning, Taylor was involved in the friendly conversation. Ultimately I walked out with a loaf of jalapeno cheddar garlic, cinnamon swirl, a large Arnold Palmer (lemonade & iced tea pleasantly pushed by Catherine), and a few more samples dropped into my bag. Let me tell you, I have been wasting my time buying bread elsewhere, this stuff is perfect- delicious and texturely spot on! I purchased a loaf of "Cinnamon Burst Swirl" at Great Harvest yesterday based on many great reviews from other customers. I enclosed a picture of the said bread here. As you can see, there's a big brown glob of something in the middle of the bread. It tasted horrible, just like it looked. Imagine chewing a block of stale butter rolled in wet cinnamon and dry brown sugar! I took it back to the bakery for investigation of the UFO found inside the bread. The clerk in the front cash register immediately called for the bakery master's attention. As a master baker he is, Tim, I think that's what they named him, does not seem to waste a minute in identifying the strange object. He announced, in a proud and firmed voice, "Oh, that's a cinnamon SWIRL"! Can someone help me understand the difference between a swirl and a glob? Just look at the picture! How is that a "swirl"? When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was what I saw. What I saw was items that were disorganized/crowded in the restaurant but as I took a couple more steps into the building I noticed there was more room than I had first thought. What I mean by crowded is not that there were a lot of people but there were racks and racks full of jams, books, bread, and more. I think if they were to just simply reorganize where furniture is set the view of the restaurant would look a lot more pleasant to the eye. I would love to share that the smell that hit my nose was filled with fresh bread and cinnamon but that would simply be untrue. When I walked in I honestly noticed no smell at all; but this isn't necessarily a bad component. This may be because where they bake/make the food is far back in the restaurant but I'm not completely sure. There was music playing at a happy-medium volume and the songs were popular hits but nothing explicit. If I were to say what the environment felt like as a whole I would say that the environment felt peaceful. The seats were quite comfortable and they had a variety of options which I enjoy. Another thing I noticed was that they had plug-ins close to every table which made me think of how this restaurant would be an outstanding place to study. There was one lady who took our order and must I say she was one of the most kind-hearted, friendly people I had ever met (especially at a restaurant). She almost always had a smile on her face and her tone never sounded annoyed or irritated. She always looked and sounded like she wanted to help and be at her job. One negative thing I noticed, was that when I got my food they had forgotten to give me my drink and they also forgot the syrup to my french toast but because they made a slight inconvenience they gave me a free cinnamon roll which is one of their most famous dishes. I have had multiple french toasts before at many different restaurants but I must say that the great harvest french toast is at the top of my list for the best ones out there. The bread was clearly made fresh which is something many oversee but I think is one of the most important aspects. It was soft, fluffy, and had a perfect hint of sweetness without being overpowering. When you poured the syrup on the french toast it would perfectly soak into the bread and add to the astounding flavor. The bread was a cinnamon flavor and it had such a satisfying taste of cinnamon. I would also like to add that the amount of food was very agreeable for the amount of money spent on the french toast. In the picture shown that is 1 1/2 slice and included was four pieces. I brought home leftovers and even with leaving them in the fridge for over 24 hours when I heated them in the morning they still held that fresh, softness, and appreciable flavor. The vanilla frappe was excellently made and not to mention, took less than 2 minutes to make and give to me. It had an exceptional mix of sweetness but also true coffee and I loved it. The texture was very smooth but it wasn't too liquidy. It was also very easy to suck into the straw which is always a plus. I have a big sweet tooth but my mom on the other hand does not, and we both agreed that they did an astonishing job on the taste and amount of sweetness. Overall, I had a prominent experience, and I would give it a 9/10 recommendation to anyone interested in going to the restaurant because everything was on point except for the slight cleanliness problem and order mistakes. If I were to give Great Harvest some feedback I would simply say to look at the order more than once and more thoroughly because to me getting an order wrong doesn't make me upset especially if they fix it but others may think of it as more of a big deal. Another reason looking thoroughly at the order would help is it would help the business not lose as much money from giving out free cinnamon rolls. We got seated and waited for our food to arrive and started to notice the table of nine that came in after us was getting their food. I asked the cashier and she inquired telling me our ticket was still three back. They must have lost or dropped it because it had been an hour since ordering. They did try and make up for the mistake by giving us a cinnamon roll which I wasn't very pleased with as it would ruin my kids eating their ordered lunch. When our food finally arrived it was incorrect and very poor quality. I had to send my dish back as it was on quinoa instead of salad greens. They simply picked up the toppings from the quinoa and placed on greens. Very dissatisfied with this place and will not be wasting my time here again.
