Lunch at Il Ritrovo in Sheboygan was outstanding from start to finish. The house made bread alone is worth the visit ... warm, fresh, and absolutely spectacular. We ordered everything that was on special today, and every dish impressed. The smoked trout salad with arugula was bright, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The four cheese pizza ... featuring Taleggio, ricotta, mozzarella, and one other cheese I can't remember ... topped with speck ... was truly to die for. We also tried the mortadella ravioli in a rich brown butter sauce, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Service was absolutely incredible ... attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend Il Ritrovo ... a must visit in Sheboygan! And, one of three certified Neapolitan pizza places in the whole state of Wisconsin!

The restaurant location is perfect! We liked the atmosphere, and our service. The drinks were soooo yummy! And well crafted! The bruschetta bread was far too overcooked for our taste- however, the rest of our meal was delightful! We look forward to visiting again

My wife and I started coming here 22 years ago when we were first married. Il Ritrovo has never disappointed us. We've been away for a few years, so we looked for the spots we could always count on. Il Ritrovo did not fail. The soups, salads, pizzas and even their wine list and espresso selection are all amazing. I've spent a bit of time in Napoli, Italia, so I love the classic Margherita pizza...but I always love when places will do the Diavola or just simply add some prosciutto after it comes out of the oven. Seriously...this place is one of a kind. Worth every penny!

Cute place for a family friendly meal, service was great but pizza was just okay. It looked great but was not super flavorful. The salad to start was good. Overall, had a nice experience but would not rush back.

Excellent wood fire pizza and excellent service from staff. Interior atmosphere was cool! Will definitely eat there again and again!

As other reviewers have commented, the quality of food at this restaurant was top notch before the pandemic but apparently declined when it first reopened after the pandemic. We dined at Il Ritrovo for the 4th time recently and had a memorable experience that far exceeded the previous visits. The two dishes that we shared for lunch were Con Tono (tuna sandwich) and Pesce del Giorno - Seabass Special. The tuna sandwich had a wide spectrum of flavorful ingredients (tuna, pickled vegetables, cherry tomatoes, and spicy mayonnaise) that made each bite a delightful party in my mouth. The Seabass Special was cooked perfectly with the skin on both sides crispy and the meat inside moist and flavorful, and the tomato sauce on top adds some sweet and sour tastes that further enhanced the flavor of the fish. The dish also came with sauteed spinach and cannellini beans on the side. The spinach was tender and fresh and probably cooked in high heat for a very short time, as it was crispy but not mushy or chewy. The cannellini beans were cooked just right in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes and flavorings. The Italian bread that we were served was clearly freshly baked round lunch time that day and tasted very good. There were a lot of customers that day, and the servers were very busy but still attentive. Our server gave us the tuna sandwich first to make sure that we could start enjoying it fresh and told us that the fish would be ready in a couple of minutes, even updating us about it 30 seconds before it was ready. The restaurant had evidently made other improvements since our last visit in May 2023. The menu seemed substantially different, adding multiple panini and pasta dishes and also serving main course dishes that were not available for lunch in the past. I now feel no hesitation in calling it one of the best restaurants in Wisconsin.

Was impressed. Food quality delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was quick and efficient. Server knew his menu well. Seating indoor and outdoor. Multiple booths. Not modern, but classic. Street parking so might be hard to find parking when busy. Again, impressed with this place and we will be back to try more foods. Pasta was cooked well. Pizza oven baked! Happy eating!

However, the fact they do full pies and have stellar reviews meant I had to try them. I wasn't so sure after my first experience as again it's not necessarily the style of pizza I default too. That said it was good enough and very fresh and well prepared. So I gave it a few other tries and I'm now a big fan. For context, I only do cheese or cheese and sausage and will sometimes do extra cheese. Their cheese pie is excellent. I don't think extra cheese is necessary, but I've done it and it's also excellent. The sausage isn't the style that I normally prefer, the sliced sausage, but it too is very good. I tend to go cheese though because even when I ordered "light" sausage it had way too much on the pizza. That seems to be the norm these days though, but for me it overwhelms the rest of the ingredients. I'd rotate between the two, but not sure if I'll get light sausage when I order. Anyway, the pizza is fantastic. Sauce for me is what it makes it, but crest and cheese are spot on as well. I do love garlic bread, specifically cheese garlic bread, and have had both. This has seemingly changed recently, but anytime I've had it it's been good as well. Currently it's more of a traditional garlic bread delivery which is slightly better. They do have two locations which is nice. One is dine-in, but they do accommodate orders if to go if needed. The other is the Uptown Sline Depot which is a to-go location. Both are great and they deliver the same result. The dine-in was packed on a recent Saturday visit and the concept with some craft beers, etc is good. Two things if the owner is listening. Go lighter on the toppings if asked. Second though and more important please expand outside of Sheboygan. You'd kill it in West Bend with little competition which you'd easily best.

It's actually located in the back of a bar called Four of a Kind. I ordered the Traditional UP Pasty. It was pretty darn good. Crust was light and flakey while the middle was dense and tasty. This area has limited choices for beverages so I went to the bar to order something else separately. Wasn't too impressed with the staff. Kind of felt like I was a stranger coming into a someone's local hangout (which I actually was!!). I just thought I'd get a "thanks" or at least a "have a nice day" as I walked past the employees as I left. Nice thing is that if you are with someone who might not want a pasty, the bar has a pretty nice bar food menu including soups. The cheese pizza for the children was as plain as a cheese pizza can be -- but that's why we ordered it for the kids. It was exactly what the picky eaters wanted and they seemed to enjoy it. For the adults we ordered two large veggie pizzas. We opened the first box and dug in and I have to say it was quite good, A nice cracker crust, decent sauce, a goodly amount of veggies evenly distributed over the crust and enough, but not too much cheese. On to the second box, and what a disappointment. The pizza was over-baked, extremely dry, and actually charred black in places -- not just a bit on the edge of the crust, but whole pieces were inedible. The amount of veggies was significantly less than the first pizza and the distribution of the toppings was uneven. How two "identical" pizzas can come out so differently is baffling. All I can say is that quality control and consistency in the kitchen seems to be lacking and that is ultimately a management problem.
