Fixed the charging port on my iPad Pro 6th gen…read more The 6th gen iPad Pro has a flimsy but expensive screen that needs to be removed to replace the port. So many repair shops either didn't want to bother or quoted a ridiculous, "eff-off" price just to send a message that they didn't want to work on them. He did not. Very knowledgeable and friendly "nerd" owner with a great, customer-oriented attitude. And he underpriced the competition by almost half! (My suspicion is that the others break a lot of screens doing this repair, so they build in the cost of making a mistake into their price; whereas he is careful enough and uses methods to not break the screen so as to not need to build the cost of his mistakes into the price.) FWIW, I have high standards, sometimes think I know too much, and can ask too many questions. Mike indulged me on all questions regarding a simple iPad repair and then some. (Other repair shops didn't want to talk about their methods or ideas). Cleaned my iPhone port for free, too! Very good communication of the risks and options for the iPad repair. I recommend them very highly to my friends, and now to you.

The guys at Free CheckFix took my problem in stride and found a way to get my printer to communicate with my computer. When returning home with my working system I was trying to shut the truck door while holding the brother laser and promptly dropped the printer on the driveway and trashed it. Mark and David found a new Brother Laser and a new CPU that could run windows 11 and together they were cheaper than what I paid for the old laser printer. Not crazy about either price, but def not crazy about the price of a new phone at over $1K. Who has that to just throw around, amiright?! So, knowing third party repair places can offer better deals, I checked these guys out, and here's where the reasons for the props come in: First, No appointment needed! Just come on in and they can get it done. So much less stress than wandering to an Apple Store after making an appointment online, waiting for an advisor...OMG, I'm getting so bored just writing that that I want to take a stress nap. Second, two repair options, and both are under $200!! Let's see... almost $400 or...less than $300...no brainer. Sure, it's not an "official" Apple repair, but, whatever...it's not like I have a new model phone still under warranty, and the screen seems just fine after I got it back and tapped my grubby fingers all over it to write this review. Third, repair time was UNDER AN HOUR!!! Try to get an oil change in that amount of time! With Apple I'd be looking at *hopefully* at best, same day. At worst...days later getting my phone back. I don't know about you, and I'm slightly ashamed to admit this, but my phone is like the third arm that I wasn't born with but eventually got, and so it goes everywhere with me. Almost. But it's greatly missed when it's not on me, and I feel like a kid lost in the woods--how can I navigate with my GPS?!?, I don't know what lunch places are around although I've lived here for 15 years!!!, how do I call my family?!? I brought 2 phones in to get assessed at the Cedar Park location. An iPhone 7 that my wife dropped in lake travis, and my iPhone 6 plus. I didn't have much expectations for the 7 that sat in a lake for about two days, but James was able to go through it, clean out all the corrosion, and actually make it work. The screen had to be replaced, but other than that, it works perfectly! With my iPhone 6 plus, I had an issue of the screen randomly blacking out (especially when someone was calling,) and the phone not being able to charge. The only way to get a charge on it was to plug it in, then power down the phone. During the assessment, James switched out batteries and charging ports (which seemed to resolve the charging issue,) and replaced the screen. He called me up and told me that both phones were ready for pick up. I was not able to make it in until the next morning, so he had them charge over night so they were ready for me to use the next day. When I went in the next morning we noticed that the 6 Plus had not charged, James broke down the phone and tried a couple different things again, and came to the conclusion that it was a problem with the motherboard itself. Because of the cost to do all that, he said it was in my best interest (time and financially) to but the original broken screen back on, and not charge me because he was not able to get the phone to function to 100%. We did that, and I ended up using the now fixed iPhone 7 as my primary means of communication. I am taking the time to right this review in the hopes that it reaches others and helps with their research and decision to visit iLabs for their assessments and repairs. James worked on my devices, and through the whole process, he kept me up to date on progress and timelines because I was coordinating everything around my work and kids school schedule. Furthermore, the honesty and understanding that was conveyed really stood out. Other technicians may have charged me a fee just for them to assess and replace a screen on a non-operable phone, but the integrity and "stand behind our work and word" attitude from James made me a dedicated customer of iLabs! I will definitely be visiting them for all my phone and tablet needs! I highly recommend them! read more

I called with a classic "dumb question", prompted by my attempt at "self-repair". The iLabs crew made me feel comfortable, explained what was likely needed and the potential cost. I made an appointment for later that afternoon, showed-up on-time, and "Chris", their rock-star tech, had it fixed and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes..! Chris is truly a domain expert, the cost was 'as quoted' earlier, and I was able to apply a coupon from my HEB receipt to get another 10% off, as well..! iLabs is one of those places I'll never forget and I'll always refer friends and family because I want them to prosper..! EXCELLENT SERVICE AND PRICES! Wow! I have taken many devices here over the past couple of years and have had no issues! These guys are honest and upfront! They shared more information about the issues I was having and explained the repair plan better than any other repair/business has ever done before. I was even allowed to stick around and wait for the repair which only took about 20 minutes!!! My Iphone got stuck in a Mophie case due to leaving it in the hot sun one too many times perhaps. Brought it down to Scott at iLabs and he had it removed within seconds. Would not accept any payment from me so I left a generous tip in the jar and left a happy customer. I noticed a bad review regarding "not apple authorized battery replacement". He does not keep this a secret - tells you up front it is not an apple battery so it's up to you to accept the risk. Had my battery replaced in iphone 6 long ago from iLabs and works just fine. Good, honest repair shop and highly recommended by many in the Georgetown community. read more

Months ago, my provider recommended iLabs to replace the battery in my iPhone 5 and it is working perfectly. More recently, my son's iPhone 7 would only charge if he had it at a certain angle and then never fully - our service provider said the pins at the charging site were bent/broken and it couldn't be fixed. The only solution was to purchase a new phone. We took it to iLabs in Cedar Park first. Turns out it was pocket lint in the charge site. In a matter of seconds, they blew out the lint and found all the pins were fine. And, NO CHARGE for the service. I will always go to iLabs first if I have a problem. Love them! read more

My phone dropped and I had the infamous Samsung black screen. Called around and got some quotes to replace the screen and they ranged all over the place - from $90 to $160. Chose to use iLabs for the repair, mostly because a coworker suggested them, the reviews were excellent overall, and the shop is close to my work. Although they didn't have the screen in stock, was able to order it, make the repair, and had my phone back in 4 days. I found out about iLabs through Yelp, and was so glad I went! My iPhone screen was shattered. I considered going to an Apple store, but that would have been almost an hour away, and $130. iLabs was 20 minutes from my house and $100. Not to mention supporting a local business, operated by a Christian. These guys did a great job! My first screen replacement actually did not work, so I took it back and they replaced the screen again for free, no questions asked. It works wonderfully, just like new! Thank goodness for iLabs! I definitely hold the record for most dropped and cracked iphones! After cracking my phone for the millionth time I contacted Brent and he had it fixed that day within 20 minutes for a great price! I couldn't get my daughter device to power on even after letting it charge for several hours. I took it to iLabs and he was able to get it to show the battery life display. Came in with an IPad 2 for repair was quoted a price for reset and another for repair. Both prices were reasonable given my research. Discovered that all I needed was a reset and my IPad was up and running in just two hours after drop off. Great service. very friendly, and knowledgeable. Enter Star Electronics, I found them on google and they are literally half a mile from me. All the reviews about their service and prices are accurate! I was lucky enough to he helped by Ramazan, who told me he'd do his best to recover my Hard Drive for $80 (a brand new hard drive was only $40 more). My laptop is my life, and I was very nervous about a self inflicted fatal error. Thankfully Ramazan was able to recover my hard drive and got me my laptop back good as new in about 5 hours!! Highly recommend them for any electronic repair, their shop in the Lakeline Mall is really nice too! Thank you Star Electronics you saved the day!
