Today i researched to replace my daughter's iPhone 15 plus screen. Compared to purchasing a brand new phone again it was only $279.29 including tax tax and labor. I dropped my cell the other day and had to get my screen fixed pretty quickly. My husbands IPad screen also had to be fixed. I was able to drop off both. My cell phone was fixed in an hour as promised. The screen on the IPad took longer. It was ready the next day. The IPad worked fine initially. But then it started going crazy. Yikes. It was like someone had hacked it. Screens were opening and closing without anyone touching it. I returned the iPad to get fixed. He knew the issue immediately. But we did have to wait another 24 hrs to get it back. Overall they fixed the issue. I appreciated that he understood his mistake immediately and said he would fix it right away. And he did. Whatever you do I would I highly, highly avoid this place at all cost. I brought my phone in for the intention of getting the screen replaced to trade in, he priced me at $159 before tax, and that was the price that he mentioned on the phone and that I agreed to, but what he never/failed to tell me was that it's 1. an aftermarket screen 2. It would pop up as an unknown part of my service history; he had full knowledge of this and didn't mention it till later on. He knew my intention of getting my screen replaced so I could trade-in, but due to it being an aftermarket screen with the service detail on it, my phone was marked by Apple and other cellular retail stores, and all of this didn't happen until after I got my screen repaired, which I found out, but at the time of getting my phone screen repaired, he assured me that it was fine with the screen history being displayed and it didn't have any effect. What I ended up receiving was a defective aftermarket screen which he gave me two options. 1) swap it with another potential cheap aftermarket screen 2)shell out another $50 for what he claims is a OEM screen. The business owner is very shady and doesn't disclose any information. It's advertised as high quality parts, but really it's just the cheapest screen that he can find on google an I got charged $172 for a defective $60 aftermarket screen. This is my first experience with this company. Also my first experience having to have my iPhone 6s Plus screen glass replaced. Price was not cheap. But Apple understands it has a handsomely margined repair market. A market that they want to keep close to their apple stores, and their bottom line. To do this apple sells the parts at a premium to guys such as SOS cell repair. So be clear, it's Apple making the great profit, not the small businesses like SOS Cell Phone Repair. Gone are the days of a guy at the mall with a leather pouch of specialty dentistry type tools and switches out your cracked screen for $50. I was amazed to see SOS Cell Phone Repairs' repair equipment set up. Equipment that at startup set them back at least 5k. It was reminiscent of a DNA lab and the robotic arms transferring samples. A precision craft for sure. The store: clean, professional, clean, conveniently located across from sonic in Pflugerville. The owner: knowledgeable, personable, kept his word on estimated repair time, roughly 30 minutes. SOS came recommended to me from Jason's computer repair in pflugerville. To me it's always a great sign when one repair center recommends another repair center. The owner takes great pride in his work, and that was reflected when I picked up my phone. I shopped around. I have a day care business and use iPads, tablets, and phones for daily sheets and kids daily. We have used SOS after shopping around for a few times now. They have been the most reasonable in pricing and we have always been satisfied with their service. We always physically take our items in to get pricing, so those that have complained about different pricing can try that. I have had several types of tablets fixed for the glass along with iPhones. I'm now picking up an iPhone 6+ that the home button needed replacing. I will continue to bring our items here from Hippo Learning Station. Well my wife brought her phone here to get her it fixed due to a cracked screen. A week later the screen cracked down the middle, not from being dropped, she literally had it in her hand & it cracked. They told us it had a warranty for 30 days. So we went to get it fixed come to find out they said that a cracked screen voids the warranty. What a pointless warranty. The most they offered was $20. I usually do not go on to give reviews but this business is beyond exceptional. I have been w/Sprint for over a decade and was instructed to go to their service center on FM 685. They had no idea what they were talking about immediately tried to either sell me a new phone or use the insurance to fix the "water damage" that was detected and assumed to be the issue. Oddly enough they recommended I check out a 3rd party and mentioned SOS maybe b/c they were slammed w/customers and didn't really feel like dealing w/my phone which had been paid off. So reluctantly I went to SOS and that was by far the best decision I had ever made. It was something as simple as a battery which Sprint did not carry and stated they had to order it which meant I'd be without a phone for several days. SOS had the battery and replaced it (got it working) so it wasn't water damage within 30 min. The price was reasonable and I would HIGHLY recommend this business for any cell phone repair. On may 27th i took my phone to have the cracked screen repaired at SOS cell repair in pflugerville. I paid 90$ and got my phone back in an hour. Leaving completely satisfied with the job i then thanked them. The following day my screen starts glitching, so i call and then bring my phone in. The OWNER of sos cell repair tells me the that he installed a defective screen. He then orders a part in which i wait a week to come in. The day the part arrives i manage to crack my defective screen, seeing as it would be replaced i didnt worry too much. When i go into the store the next day to replace my screen the owner told me because my defect screen was craccked now i needed to spend another 90 dollars to have it replaced. I reiterated that the screen he installed was defective before i cracked it. He then told me to have a new screen installed somewhere else and he would then repair it. Which made no sense. I asked for my money back since i bought a defective screen and he refused. I then asked him to find a middle ground since he installed a defective defective screen. He then tries to get another 50-60 dollars from me. In which i took my defective screen and left. The screen replacments ordered online range from 20 - 30 dollars in which he admitted. The owner of this small business knew eactly what he was doing and was in no way accomodating when it came to finding a soultion. In order to stop this from happening to any one else ive been forced to contact the Better Business Bureau to start a lawsuit in which will cost me more then 90 dollars in court fees. So here is my review, they are selling defective screens and have friendly customers service until they find a way to scam you out of your money.
