Display suddenly died on an 4.5 year old Samsung Galaxy S10e, a very good but not the most common phone. Obviously being suddenly locked out of your phone with all the calendar reminders and being unable to use your phone as an actual phone stinks. I called at 5pm on a Friday evening and they so happened to have an S10e display and said if I got there by 5:30 they would have it done before closing at 7pm. Sure enough that is how it went. It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was worth the cost to repair a still very good phone and not lose everything. We were very thankful for Austin Cell and while I hope to not be back, if another phone breaks I will. read more

Brought my iPhone X in on 12/15/2021 for a broken/cracked screen replacement. Pro - they were able to replace the screen quickly/same-day. Cons - today (6/5/2022) my entire screen pulled away from the rest of my phone. I took it in to a different repair store and was told one of the bottom screws was missing. It was not replaced when it was repaired the first time. The screen they used to replace my broken one was also way too bright. Would not recommend this store to replace iPhone X screens, they may be fine for other devices. read more

I work right next door so when my phone broke all my coworkers raved about how great this place was. I was skeptical as I always buy Groupons as they seem to be the "cheaper" route. I walked in, with no appointment, asking to get my phone fixed. It was cheaper than the Groupon's I have been buying and they had it fixed right away. Fast, friendly and efficient repair on my iPhone 7 camera lens. I'm back to taking non-cloudy pics again. I was lucky and was able to wIt for my repair. Was told up to an hour, to 90 minutes if they were helping others, but I arrived at a slow time so he fixed it right away. They have a good assortment of cell phone cases along the wall, and tons of cables and charging plugs. Don't forget to check out the $5 box and score a really good deal on really old cases for those really old phones and tablets you're still using. Great place to have a cell phone repair. I walked in with about 1/2 an hour till closing. They took my phone for diagnostics on the spot. They understand that being without your phone is very stressful especially to other small business owners like me. The diagnosis was that I had debris clogging up my charger port. They cleaned it out & everything worked normally. Since there were no parts needed & no actual repair work done, there was no charge. I would recommend you take your phone here if you have a problem. I am very impressed with the quality of work from this place. These guys are craftsmen in what they do. This weekend I broke my screen for the second time. It happened when I was with a friend who had used Austin Cell Repair before so she recommended them. They were fast, friendly, and best of all, thorough. I went ahead and added the tempered glass again since I can't afford to keep breaking the screens, and they integrated it into my phone, making it look and act seamless. They did SUCH a great job that my phone works like NEW! They fixed my screen AND corrected all the things that the previous screen repair had gotten wrong. This is a good small business and I would recommend them to anyone. Although I did not have anything repaired there, if I ever need it I will go there first and I will tell anyone I know that needs a repair to go there first. They did two very great customer service assistance to me and my wife. First, my wife went there as she was trying to get Straight Talk cellular data to work on her unlocked AT&T iPhone 3GS and Phil spent time trying to get it to work for my wife. Even though he could not get the cellular data to work on the phone, he did not charge my wife for his time since he did not get it to work. He didn't have to do that. Second, I did some research on my own to figure out how to program my wife's phone and it needed an unactivated T-Mobile SIM to do the trick and of course the T-Mobile store would not sell me a SIM card to get my phone to work on another network; they actually were jerks about it---T-Mobile that is. I went and saw Phil at Austin Cell and Tablet Repair and explained what I needed and that I was willing to buy an old SIM card he may have laying around. He gave one to me; again, he didn't have to do that. I can tell they are good people and they will treat you right. read more

Trying to dry it out myself and have it come to life was a lesson in futility and people were wondering what the hell I was doing with a phone in a cup of rice. It didn't work. Phil was able to open it up and have it fixed in a jiffy for an absolutely reasonable cost (considering the price of a iPhone5 or GSIII!). Now I have a cracked screen that I will need to get to him. A Remarkably Friendly and Knowledgeable Store. I'm sure there are many cell repair shops in the Pflugerville/Austin area, but not many like Austin Cell and Tablet Repair. The first time I used them it was to remove piece of rice from the charging port. They said "no charge" but I saw a "tip" jar and dropped a ten spot for their kindness. I have since used them to replace two batteries in my iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+. Each battery cast $29.99. While in Batteries Plus I asked what their charge for the same batteries -- $49.99. I had gotten my iPhone 8 plus fixed at another place and was in need of another screen repair. I was a little nervous because most places want entirely too much to fix screens. I stopped by their location and was told it would take about an hour. I was tempted to go grab lunch and come back. The young lady working there quickly fixed my screen and had me back on the road in no time. I was very impressed at how smooth it went. Job well done! Dropped my phone off with a cracked and broken screen (two separate incidents), was promised pickup in an hour. Returned at the appointed time and the phone was ready and waiting. This phone had previously had some repair work done at another facility, and something done there caused the rear facing camera to stop working. I checked the camera to see if it worked, by some miracle since I hadn't mentioned that issue when I dropped it off, and it worked! Whether by nature of their repair or by going the extra mile, my phone is fully functional now! Just took a call, and my face hit buttons during the call, so I'll mess around with the light sensor a little more and go back if need be. I'm still rating 5 stars! I rarely leave reviews, but the service I received at Austin Cell and Tablet Repair warrants one. Half of my iPhone screen stopped working and was no longer touch-sensitive, preventing me from being able to enter my passcode and unlock my phone. I took my phone to Austin Cell and Tablet Repair and I was in and out in about 20 minutes with a brand new working screen for a reasonable price. In the following days, I noticed a new issue: when I typed on my phone, the touch sensor appeared off. Sometimes the cursor would randomly change positions and distort messages. I took the phone back to Austin Cell and Tablet Repair. I showed the guy (Joe, I think?) what was going on and without question, he replaced the screen again for me. After the first replacement, the issue was still happening, so he decided that the best course of action would be to replace the screen with an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part. He did that, and my phone now works flawlessly. The patience and grace that exuded from Joe was noteworthy. While he was working on my phone (took about 1.5 hours total on the second day), new customers poured in. It was a weekend day so it was busy. He brought presence and attention to each new customer and never appeared distracted or rushed. He focused on their needs, and after taking care of each person mindfully, went back to working on my phone with a cheerful attitude. This sort of energy was refreshing to be around. Brought in my 5th gen iPad to replace a broken screen. The guy who helped me, Phil, who I learned later is the owner, was awesome. Very unassuming and focused on customer service. Best price I found anywhere. Completed the repair same day, with no advanced notice I was coming in. About a month later, I brought it back with an issue that the device was self-touching. Service tech Cory helped me, great service, replaced the screen again at no cost. These guys are easy to work with, have great pricing, and have customer satisfaction as their top priority. FAIL on iPhone Repair. The digitizer on replacement screen never worked correctly and when I finally just replaced it myself there was one screw and a clip missing as well as a loose screw bouncing around. Don't waste your time. They overcharge, use low grade parts and apparently can't reassemble it correctly. read more
