I can enthusiastically recommend One Medical, which is owned by Amazon. And, no, I don't hate…read moreAmazon, so if that bothers you, take note. I admit, I was very skeptical, but the practice is so efficient and friendly, I'm recommending them to the Yelp DC community! And I"m very fussy about health care (I'm from Boston, what can I say--it's the best city in the US for health care!) The one item I was hesitant about--it's a common problem in the DC metro area--is you won't get an MD, you'll be seen by a Physician's Assistant. But--I lost my primary care MD 5 years ago, so started calling practices, GW MFA, etc., a year ago to find a new MD. Forget about it. I started calling again recently, hoping there were doctors available. Nope. There is NOTHING out there--I had estimates of waiting times of several MONTHS for an appointment with an MD. No one offered an appointment with an NP or a PA. A few places wouldn't even put me on for a wait list appointment! It's dire. I had no choice but to sign up at One Medical, which btw was recommended by two friends with high standards for doctors. There is another potential issue, that it's only general practice, no specialists. But they do a lot of the requisite tests, blood tests, etc. I already have my specialists, so it's not a problem for me. And my PA is excellent. She is pretty young, but very well trained, very smart, and responsive. And you can tell she likes her job! More good things about Farragut Square OneMed. I"ve been several times since joining a few months ago, and I've NEVER had a wait. The front desk folks, the techs, the medical professionals? All excellent, very personable, and polite. What a change from some other DC medical practices! They take insurance--and if you're not insured, they will figure it out. Also, they are so tech forward, everything is very easy to accomplish, and not stressful. No waiting on hold! Again, what a change. Anyway, if you need a primary care MD, and can't find anyone, give one of these practices a try. If you don't like them, you can leave.

I think One Medical has been a victim of their own success -- there are too many patients and you…read morecan never get an appointment now. The whole point of paying for it is supposedly so you can get prompt responses and next day treatment. At first, I could always get appointments same day or the very least the next day. Now to book a physical with my doctor, I needed to book 5 weeks out. To get an appointment for an illness, the next available on the app is over a week from now. A more traditional doctor, I could call and ask to be seen same day. But no one answers messages on the app anymore. I'm trying to switch practices but no one will answer me through the app how to cancel my membership. If you are looking for premium care and service, this is definitely not it anymore. PS: do yourself a favor and sort the comments by "newest first" -- you can pinpoint exactly when things went downhill. All the positive reviews are over a year old.

I'm posting this review exactly 1 day shy of being 3 months out from my double eyelid surgery. I…read morecan sum my experience up in one statement - I wish I'd done it sooner! I'd debated double eyelid surgery my whole life but got really interested during COVID. I saw some tapes that claimed they could give permanent double eyelids by using for 6 months or more every night. They worked...until they didn't! When the double eyelids stopped showing up one morning, what I did realize was how looser/lower the skin had gotten from the repeated crease tracing and tapes. Not good at all when compounded with how fatty/thick my eyelids naturally are. I also realized how my eyelids were getting in the way. I was unconsciously raising my right eyebrow pretty much the entire day in order to see better as the eyelid was covering so much of my pupil (which is also to say that my eyelashes were basically invisible at that point). I was starting to develop a wrinkle on the right side of my forehead only from this. Given my family has been debating a trip to Korea for a while, I also thought about pushing off getting my eyelids done in Korea. But I didn't want to spend a good week or so of precious vacation time dealing with recovery. Plus, what if something DID go wrong, I wanted a local doctor I could easily follow up with! I booked a consultation with Dr. Chaboki as he had the best portfolio out of all local doctors. This area already has a limited pool so I wasn't too hopeful when I first searched, and was worried I might have to go to NY or CA to find a doctor familiar with Asian eye anatomy. I needn't have worried as Dr. Chaboki gave me the exact results I wanted. I merely wanted my lashline visible and a defined fold. I've heard some doctors push ptosis correction (even in cases where it might not be needed), and epicanthoplasty alongside double eyelid procedures but there was none of that here. After all, ptosis is a medical condition and a whole different procedure. I booked the surgery and took a 1.5 weeks off of work, even though I work from home, because I knew my eyes would be tired. The procedure was easy-peasy, not to minimize anything since it's still a surgical procedure, but it was so tolerable. I had no ill effects (compliance with aftercare instructions is of utmost importance!). I will say there was a big difference at the 6 week mark in terms of healing. A really natural look settled in by then. And now at 3 months there's an even bigger difference and I don't think anyone would be able to tell unless I disclosed it. Very happy with my results and Dr. Chaboki is clearly a master at his craft and he's SO specialized in facial work, it really immediately shows!

I could see he was not quite grasping the SIMPLE situation, and became combative and even more snarky as I was inquiring information regarding travel requirements. The entire country has "pivoted" and accommodated extreme circumstances far more effectively than this. There's never an excuse for this type of rudeness! Shame on you for not helping your patients.

Arrived 4/19 at 9am, allergist arrived at 9:15am and apologized because she didn't see anyone on her schedule. I got a standard allergy test on my back and she explained the immunotherapy option. I told her I would think about it and let her know if I wanted to move forward. Later that day they asked if I could come back to speak with the doctor because he didn't do the standard check in. I declined and asked for a phone call instead. I spoke with Dr. Oshalim (friendly man) and he explained options for my dustmite allergies. I decided against the immunotherapy and opted for solutions online. Fast forward to 5/16, I receive my EOB and my insurance was billed $7200 for immunotherapy that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE! Awful awful awful. I think this is the first time I left doctors office hysterically crying…read more I went in to see about an inflamed allergic reaction (red, itchy, burning ) that spread from the left cheek on my face down and around my jawline and up to the right cheek. I was his last appointment of the day, and I could tell he was trying to make this appointment snappy. He was short with me, declaring it was not an allergy at all because it was localized to my face (and that's not how allergies work I guess). He examined my face with lights, lens and all and exclaimed- "No allergy, it's blisters- it looks like you have blisters all over your face!" His nurse just nodded and repeated in teh background, "Ah bleesters! bleesters!" If I have blisters all over my face, maybe it's an allergy I reasoned. I tried to interject, explaining about potential allergens in my office, home, what have you and he silenced me. He abruptly left and disappeared for 10 minutes, door flung wide open. during this time I heard that same nurse saying her goodbyes to other staff. I truly was holding them up from their commutes I guess. He came back yelling, "it's not allergy, I looked in the PDR and it's that medication you;re taking (I'll keep the Rx to myself) "You see your doctor about it- that one who gave you that. As I my voice started to crack with frustration that I wasn't being listened to at all, he got up, literally showed me the door, and kicked me out... When I passed my the front desk teary eyed, the receptionist returned my co-pay explaining that Dr. Garro would not take it. I'm still confused on how to interpret that - should I be grateful, was her insulted I "wasted his time." I guess I don;t really care to know.

I completely agree with Dahlia S. and I wish I had read her review before I made the appointment. …read more I found Dr. Garro through my insurance company's website and I would not recommend him to anybody. I had never met the man before; he had no knowledge of my medical history. I brought in pages and pages of recent (and expensive!) allergy-related bloodwork, which he didn't even look at. He was extremely short with me. I tried to explain the sinus problems I've been having over the last two months but he didn't want to hear it. He cut me off to ask, "But why are you here TODAY?" I didn't know how to answer this without recapping the recent symptoms leading up to my scheduling the appointment. Within three minutes of sitting down with him, he was writing me a prescription for antibiotics and ordering me to get a CT scan and an MRI. (I can't even begin to guess how he determined - so quickly and without conversation - that I had a sinus infection.) Before I knew it, I was being ushered out the door. Bottom line: I'm not about to pump myself full of antibiotics and pay thousands of dollars for scans without at least a little explanation. Another annoying thing is that he wouldn't prescribe me Diflucan to take along with the antibiotics to prevent a yeast infection. Women who take antibiotics run the risk of getting a yeast infection in the process and every doctor who has ever prescribed me antibiotics has thrown in an Rx for Diflucan (Fluconazole). Dr. Garro refused and told me to go to my regular doctor for that. Thanks, but no thanks. I get five paid doctor visits a year. I'd rather use it on finding a better, more communicative ENT.
