Without a doubt one of the top 3 restaurants I've dined at. The service and food was stupendous; there were a handful vegetarian options available and they were incredibly accommodating to food allergies as well. Their atmosphere was the perfect mix of fine dining and entertainment; it was absolutely spectacular. I won't reveal much more about our experience as to not spoil it for prospective diners, but trust me -- Illios is a MUST go in Cancun. the best dinner I've ever been to. the best experience, the best food, the best servers, the best drinks, i could go on. we ordered the phyllo with spinach, kebabs, and Gyritos for appetizers i had the chicken and my partner had the lamb for entrees. both super delicious. plenty of food. the experience, however, is unmatched. plenty of groups go there to celebrate special occasions but if that isn't enough there are cirque du soleil style dancers, belly dancers, fire carrying dudes, etc I cannot wait to go back. I tried to love the food but I didn't. I got the merkati pasta and some other apps none were memorable .. bland. Truffle where? The best thing honestly was the olives and the bread. The service was good though & get the espresso martini it was good! The food and service at Ilios was nothing short of stunning. We were only looking for a quick dinner, and had no idea what a spectacular night we were about to enjoy. The restaurant is open air, with a view of the lagoon. Every detail here has been meticulously arranged. The decor is a work of art in itself. Our waiters, Alberto and Fuentes, treated us like royalty. The choices on the menu were excellent, and they were able to accommodate all food preferences we had. Wonderful cuisine, with attentive service. And then the floor show. Fire dancers, acrobats and belly dancers performing right next to our table. Made 7:45 pm dinner reservation ahead of time and requested an outdoor low table. This is a beautiful Greek restaurant and they offer many different types of fresh whole fish or shell fish at market price with various cooking choices. Our server offered a fish that could be shared between 2 people for approx $150 USD but we went with the lamb chops plus a whole snapper $70 USD. We also ordered 2 apps & 2 vegetable sides. The apps & sides are large enough to share. We ordered a cheesecake dessert to share. With tax & tips, under $200 USD for 2 people. At around 9:50 pm, you get to smash dishes just like a real Greek wedding. Overall, food & service were outstanding. Managers came to check on us a number of times. This restaurant is well run and really fun. They do play loud disco music all night so it is not ideal for talking. We saw guests ordered ice-cream that is made table side. You get 2 cones and it looked quite interesting. read more

Restaurant decor is exquisite with amazing views of the lagoon. Perfect to watch the sunset while enjoys your cocktails and appetizers. We started with selections from the mezze menu along with the eggplant chips. Delicious. Entrees were a mix of fresh branzino (you pick the fish table side), lamb burgers plus the mini gyros (lamb and chicken). We also had two vegans and they were able to accommodate us nicely. Menu is a little pricey but overall a great experience. Highly recommend you check it out. read more

Fraud trap 1-Never tell them where you live you will be charge and extra up charges if you come from an area they know spends money their they keep track of area codes and zip codes. 2- Extra charges if people have too many drinks 3- they seat you on the worst table even if you call 2 weeks ahead and reserve. They will say That the main area is full and if you want to move there you have to buy one or 2 bottles of $300 each or more. 4- they come and ask you what type of water you want. They will scare you and say they start with tap water that no one drinks. All other Resturant will serve you bottle water no mater what in a pitcher. 5- after they pour the water another worker will come with fruit slices to add to your drink that's a charge too. And he will be very pushy and they All intimidate you to purchase this will go on All day even when you are paying the bill. 6- watch your drinks they play with drinks too Be carful they put stuff in your drinks if your drink taste very different and funny don't drink it. Call and report it to the embassy of your country. The place looks good the food is Coney Island food in a elegant dinner ware. 7- your 1st appetizer will not be enough they will short the order so you order more. 8- make sure there is always someone on the table read more

The most beautiful and elaborate restaurant I've been to. The style is tapas and they have a ton of vegetarian options. The restaurant was over staffed clearly. And while they were being helpful and doing their job, I felt a bit uncomfortable with all the hovering. In all my pictures of my kids, it looks like there's a bodyguard in the background. Anyway the food was decent. I would pass on the ravioli. All in all, a nice place. read more

Lovely physical plant. Lovely service. Cocktails I sampled were fine, not great. I chose a cheaper (relatively speaking) bottle of wine and it was so-so, my fault possibly. I love Greek music, but not what they played on the PA. The brief floor show was a sort of middle eastern belly dance with lovely women. I had a pasta entree which was a salty slurry with barely any of the advertised meat. My companion had a delicious fish fillet, but it did not correspond to its English or Spanish name on the menu. I expressed my general displeasure to the waiter, who immediately called a manager who offered us an opportunity to return another day under her direct attention; since my dissatisfaction was with the food, I declined (gracefully I hope). We had a lovely time and the sweet and kind nature of the staff was palpable. But such an expensive restaurant should offer better. read more

Coyole and Chiquiln were the best servers we could've had! They were very helpful with wine suggestions, browsing the amazing fish and the lamb was amazing. Reasonable prices as well. DEFINITELY come. And ask for them! read more

Decor is gorgeous. Loud, party atmosphere even with our 8pm reservation on a Weds night. Spanakopita & Tuna sashimi to start were great. For dinner my partner opted for a few appetizers instead of entrees, as nothing really shouted at him, I felt the same and settled for a local filet which I really disliked. More of a preference rather than the preparation of the restaurant, they had so many fish but my partner isn't a fish person... I would have loved a whole fish but being last night on the island didn't want it to go to waste. Mini gyros were excellent, broccoli was inventive. Shishito's, I've had better. Greek potatoes were cut too thick and covered in way too much Oregano even as an oregano lover myself but were still tasty. I had a few glasses of Albariño but found it really strange & disappointing no Assyrtiko, or Moschofilero were on the wine list being a Greek restaurant? Service was spotty and despite their best efforts things just weren't aligned or out in a timely fashion. I likely wouldn't dine here again but appreciate their efforts. read more

We celebrated a couple of big birthdays last night at ilios. Jose and Alexis were our waiters and they did an outstanding job all night long. They were attentive and personable to all our needs. I often write review about Cancun Restaurants. It seems like new ones pop up all the time. There is a new restaurant to us across the street from the Kukulcan mall. We like to try new places, especially if within walking distance of the Royal Sands. Therefore, we thought we would try it. The building is very nice and the hostesses were very gracious. When we went to our table, building decor was beautiful. However, that is where the problems started. One of our very good friends who was with us has a hearing aid. The music was very loud, We asked if it could be turned down a little. After initially telling us it could be turned down, it actually seemed to get louder. We had 7 people at dinner and were completely unable to talk to each other without shouting. Some of our group ordered martinis. One came fairly quickly, but the other took all of twenty minutes and then it was warm. Nothing worse than a warm martini. We always ask that they be very cold. All of us asked for tap water and at the end of the night were surprised to find that we had been given bottled water in direct contradiction to our request and were charged $3.00 each (60 pesos) for water we did not order or want. Then we got to dinner. One of us ordered the ribeye steak. It was full of fat, and not very good. Of course, it was so dark you could hardly see it. I had a lobster tail and asked the price in advance and was told about $45.00 USD. My wife had the Pastitsio. It was on the menu with ribeye, and we were told mushrooms. There were no mushrooms or rib eye in the pasta. It was essentially baked pasta with alfredo sauce sprinkled with cheese. We did not have any drinks or anything else. For the lobster tail, and the pasta that was like a side dish and water, we paid $100 USD before the tip. Clearly, the worst value I have gotten in Cancun for dinner. Our friends had the fish, which was drenched in olive oil and was not good. The salads were very nice, that our companions got. Other than the salads, the food was not very good, and clearly not up to Cancun standards in my experience. Finally, it took forever to pay our bill. We had trouble getting anyone's attention to take our money. In summary, the food was not that good, was well overpriced, the service was mediocre, the martinis were warm and we were charged for something that we did not order, but was different from what we ordered, namely the water. The music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other. We have been out to dinner every night since we got here, and Ilios was a disappointment. My advice would be to save your money and try somewhere else. read more
