Few things: 1) patient health info is reviewed in an open space for other patients to hear. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional 2) You would think that a health institution would have decent WiFi for patient comfort but they have horrible connection. 3) Nurse don't wear masks when accessing your ports in lab area. This place has horrible patient service. Every single person in the office that you talk to when you call acts like they're put out by you calling them. You're passed around to multiple doctors so you never really get to have a working relationship with any of them. You feel like you don't matter at all time in your life when you're most vulnerable. These people are caring for patients who are elderly and very sick. I understand, as a healthcare worker myself, that you get burnt out and numb to the seriousness of cancer. You have to, to make it through work sometimes. But they seriously need to retrain all their staff in compassion. The adage "not all nurses are mean girls but all mean girls are nurses" absolutely applies to this facility. And what's worse? The areas around them are rural areas so a lot of patients don't have any choice but to go here. They don't have a sense of urgency, they don't communicate well to the patients and they don't communicate across all areas of the facility well. I always feel like they never really know what's going on with my case, again, because you're passed off. I haven't seen my actual oncologist since she told me I was in remission. First visit is my last visit. I called their main office in Peoria to make sure an injection that I needed would be ready for me. I was told that if there was a problem I would get a call. Guess what: No call and no injection in the office! A complete waste of my time. I'm not returning. read more

I recommend Illinois CancerCare because I have been to other cancer centers and I think, generally speaking, I like the care and services best here. The environment and layout is airy and bright. When you are fighting cancer, I feel like a cheerful environment goes a long way. The nurses in the lab and chemo pods have always been great and sometimes, are actually the people who understand best what's going on with me. And the chemo pods are also serene and peaceful. They overlook a small pond and also match the bright and cheery atmosphere going on in the other areas of the Cancer Center. The support programs offered have been excellent and they have helped me tremendously as well. I absolutely love the support staff and volunteers as well. They're all just so helpful and friendly. Going through cancer is the pits for sure but Illinois CancerCare definitely makes the journey much easier and less lonely. Thanks! read more

I've had the sad experience of being there multiple times for family members and myself. Dr. Johnson for Gynecology/Oncology, is a wonderful surgeon, but has terrible bedside manner. I'm forever grateful he "cured" me, but wish there was another Specialist in that area besides him or Dr. Byler-Dann. read more

I couldn't be less impressed. From the lack of professionalism by Dr. Byler Dann's staff to the dr.'s lack of even a passable bedside manner- EXPECT to wait a FULL 2 hours after your apt. time. Unless you've been diagnosed, do not go there. I was referred because I have a high CGA and an MRI that showed a high T2 marrow signal that was found prior to moving to Illinois. I was sent to an oncologist/hematologist who found the CGA which, according to the NCCN, can be a marker for Neuroendocrine tumors of unknown origin but I moved before getting to any diagnosis. My leg is still excruciatingly painful with many days I can't put weight on it. I made an appointment with an Ortho after moving to Peoria to see if he could get to the bottom of it. I gave him all the back story but he said it's not an Ortho issue & he referred me to the Cancer Center. My first appointment was with Dr Zhang who wanted to know why I was there without a cancer diagnosis. I gave him all the details and he said having anything in the leg was too rare to be a consideration but he ran a few vitamin and mineral labs. I was low in D and iron which he blamed on the Bariatric surgery I had 48 years ago. In my 78 years I've found that most doctors go on the assumption that anything bad would have cropped up if the history is over 20 years old but apparently 48 isn't too long. He ordered iron infusions done a week apart plus labs to recheck in several weeks. Those labs came back lower than the 1st time with the addition that my iron storage was now very low. Prior to getting the new iron labs I had requested another doctor, that was a break in my experience of never getting a second option within the same practice. Enter Dr Fishkin who was also uninterested in the CGA but ordered another set of iron infusions and following those said come back in 4 months for labs. My chart says reason for being there is unknown and anemia of unknown origin and for some reason they seem to have no interest in diagnostics, just treatment. I've wasted 5 months and am hoping to find a doctor in this town who's as interested as I am in the origin of my anemia, my other symptoms and why my CGA is high. Trying to rule out other causes in 2021 I made the rounds of Gastro, Pulmonary, Cardiology and Endo who have ruled out issues on their end. On a positive note the infusion facility is pleasant. read more

We have had the best care imaginable from Dr. Veeder at Illinois Cancer Care. Much better care than was received at previous cancer centers in two different states. Dr. Veeder is a world-class oncologist and the center is probably the best resource for cancer care between Chicago and St. Louis. Many lab tests and CTs can be done on location, and for other needs, the affiliation with OSF HealthCare (another tremendous asset in the Midwest) has made managing my follow-up so convenient. The demand for this level of care and expertise puts a lot of demands on scheduling and follow-up, but it is so worth it. read more

I have been down at this clinic for years with my girlfriend and we have waited to get in to see the doctor anywhere from 1 to 2 hours! Everytime. Poor customer service and poor planning. Her doctor is good, but at this point she is going to find another oncologist at another facility. What a waste. read more

Waited for months to get an appointment with Dr. Byler Dann who I was referred to. Finally got one scheduled then they called back a few weeks later and said since I'm not a "priority" with a cancer diagnosis just pre-cancerous cells that they needed to move my appointment to a later date. I was ok with this initially. Got another call stating that they needed to move my appointment again as the doctor was not available that day. Got a call today saying my appointment has been canceled because I do not have a clinical diagnosis of cancer and the doctor has refused to see me. The reason I was referred there by my doctor was because of my long history with pre-cancerous cells. I do not recommend this doctor or practice at all. Very unethical and unprofessional. read more

I have been going there since 2006. They are the reason I am alive today. The staff is so warm and friendly. I see Dr Veeder - The best Dr I the Midwest- and I will Wait to see him. I plan on just being there all day. They have snacks and coffee, lemonade. I actually love going there and seeing the staff. I get to have Chemo and that takes time. I understand that new patients are afraid but they will take really good care of you. If you are there and see a girl on pink scooter that is me. Say Hi!! God is good all the time. read more

I go to I'll cancer care every 3/4 months for a blood test to test my iron levels I was repeatedly told by my Dr. That I could get the blood tested and if I needed to get a phlebotomy done I could get it that same day, everytime I go in the girl taking my blood has no idea what I'm talking about and tells me if I need a phlebotomy I have to reschedule and come back as if my time isn't valuable, The fact that they can't get on the same page with my care is frustrating. Healthcare in illinoise is the worst of any of the 7 states I've lived in. The people are very lazy and don't really care about their patients. read more

Very hard to plan your day when you have to see Dr Byler-Dann. Always a 2-3 hour delay. Even on the 1st appointment of the day I was an hour late getting in. Ended up leaving this practice after 6 months. Dr is always pleasant, but took 6 months to get notes to my primary care doctor. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Raman for over a year and you could not ask for a better Doctor, she is always on time, very informative and puts the patient at ease with all of her care and treatment, I have never had to set and wait for more than 5 minuets to have treatment from anyone over there, including lab work, infusions or anything else, I am so thankful for the kind caring work they do and how well they work with you every step of the way. read more

Horrible scheduling with this facility they book over 4 people for the same appointment and when I asked the receptionist she rudely responded that being over an hour behind schedule was the norm. Appointment was at 12:30 I arrived at 12 to fill out paperwork and wasn't seen by the PA until 2:30 then waited 40 mins in the room for the Doctor. read more

I cannot say enough good about this facility. They were there for me during my fight with cancer every step of the way. Nurses and staff are super helpful and your comfort and heath are their top priority. Sometimes the waits are a little long but what price can you put on saving your life. Lab work results are in the same day you get treatment and see the oncologist. Also the volunteers work overtime to see that you are comfortable during treatment and I love the therapy dogs. Flew into Peoria and met Dr. Lee Linquster in order to determine if we could move to Peoria and maintain appropriate treatment for my wifes breast cancer. After meeting with the staff it appeared they could meet our needs and we transferred care and I moved my wife back to her hometown of Peoria to be near her family. Unfortunately, during the 4 months of treatments we saw the doctor less than half the time dispite my wife having complications from the treatment. In fact the last 4 visits to the facility before she passed we saw the doctor only once and on the last visit she was treated with a low platelet count, that we now know was too low for treatment. The next morning after treatment she was hospitalized and died 2 weeks later. In addition, during her 2 week hospital stay at St Francis the Doctor from Illinois Cancer Care did not even show up at the hospital to review her situation. Sorry we moved and made the decision to allow Illinois Cancer Care to treat my wife, My wife Rita deserved better from them. read more
