I dropped in from out of town and was seated nearly immediately with a young man who worked me in between two appointments. This young man was just the right amount of friendly, explaining what he recommended for my cut and proceeded to deliver top-notch work. I wish I lived here so I could visit this shop regularly! The interior is super tight, neat and clean and well-lit and perfect for all men, young, older, all ethnic groups (even an older white guy like me). I don't like giving negative reviews and since I didn't get a haircut I'm not going to just give this place a one-star. Came here not knowing that you needed to make an appointment, but I asked the guy inside if he could cut my hair and he said do you have an appointment and I said no, he looked to see availability and he said if you can wait about 45 minutes I can get you in after the next person. I left and came back about 35 minutes later, sat there and watched multiple people come in and get haircuts. After another 30 minutes I asked how much longer it might be and I was told it could be another 30 minutes but they weren't sure and I was told you could always make an appointment for another day and time or you can try to come back later. So I sat around for over an hour and never got a haircut. Place seems very click ish to returning customers,almost like an old school barber shop where people are hanging out, which is cool, but makes new people feel very unwelcomed. read more

Being of African descent it can be very hard to find a barber that can cut my hair texture. This place is good! I think there are a couple of shops that can cut in the close surrounding cities but not a large variety. Luckily this place is in a perfect spot. It's a nice shop and as far as I've seen everyone is very professional. Prices are a bit steep but unfortunately it's the price you pay when you are a minority in the burbs. Make sure to schedule an appointment online because although they say they take walk-ins it rarely happens. I have even been turned away twice, after the first time it took me 2years to try them again and they did it a second time so I scheduled because I needed a cut bad. I go to another shop but this place does an awesome job and every time I leave out I'm looking smooth!!!! Although Skitz has a higher price for cuts than the others he is the one to schedule with! Like the other people say, they seem like the run mostly on appointments. Adrian cut my hair. Did a really nice job. Really took his time. Everytime my fiance goes in here he always waits 2 hours before he's told to leave. The barbers only cut their friends hair and sit around when there's customers waiting (unless you're a friend) been here 5 maybe 6 times and only got 1 hair cut. Its a job not a hang out... They don't seem to understand that. Bad business, bad customer service, and you can't even read their store sign. The open sign has been out 2 times and told us to leave because they're closed 4 hours before the sign said they would be... If you want a hair cut don't come here. They will waste 4 hours to half a day telling you to leave. Piece of crap business never going back. read more

Walked in to get my sons hair cut with 2 barbers working. There where two customers waiting. I sat waiting for another barber to show up for about an hour. Then two more customers showed up and went before my son. I asked if they only work by appointment and the barber stated no and that the other barber would be in soon. Once the third barber actually showed up, he did give my son a great cut. Not very good customer service, but a great cut in the end. read more

If your a walk-in, don't even bother. There is no sign in sheet and the barbers won't even look your way. At least acknowledge the customer and let them know how long they'll be waiting. If you don't get acknowledged, don't bother staying, you'll be mad you waited so long just to leave without a cut. read more

Some real talent in this barbershop. They can do anything and everything. Been going to Illy'z since they opened and same barber for 5+ years now. During that time span there have been very few instances where I had to get a haircut elsewhereX I regret it every time. Epic fades, crisp linings and a clean cut every single visit. This place is not cool at all. The guys are rude and disrespectful. If you walk in there and they don't like the way you look the won't take you. I was there and one kid came in and he is India or mid-eastern any way they made go around asking other barbers if they are free and not one of would take him and the poor kid just walked out and afterward they are laughing about. You pay for service and you expect to be treated with respect right but not this place. Save your money and you get good service somewhere else. read more

That place is sucks, one time I had an appointment and I was there and my barber called me and he told me he can't come. Next time it happend same thing. But i didn't say anything. But last time I'm late 20 min because i was in traffic and he told me come other day and pay extra money. Not the place for New customers. I walked in and there were 8 chairs with 4 people waiting so I figured it will be a short wait. I went to go sign in and there was no sign-in sheet. One guy told me to take a seat. Low and behold as I waited for 52 minutes, the barbers "friends" would show up and they would skip to the front of the line. It's cool if it happens once but there were 5 people who came after I walked in that got to a chair before I did. The first time i visited, i paid $40 for my son and myself. My son got a haircut and i just got my facial hair trimmed. So, today my girl takes my son there and when i get off work she tells me see ended up paying $40 all together! WTF! Mind you, my son is only 11 years old. So the guy tells her its $25 for my son because he's not a kid. When did 11 years old become a teen or adult. Especially since i know i paid $20 for my son just a few weeks back. Not to mention he was getting a Mohawk and ended up with a high to fade, that she had to correct him on. So she was going to give him a $10 tip but he didn't have any change and being she was in a rush, she just have him $40 instead of $35 which still was more than what was deserved. So I'm done with this #@$%&%! Place, but not before i go up there and address this issue. Just lost a customer due to one person!
