She had me send all the records to her and then told me she wanted to submit them to a service called RecordReform, who in turn sends them out to India, where "experts" look them over and compile them into a timeline and report. She told me it would be around $300 and to send her a check. I was leary of this, as everyone had been telling me to never pay a contingency lawyer up front for anything. But I was desperate to find an attorney, so I sent her the check. I uploaded the records to the RecordReform website, and later emailed them a copy of the autopsy report. When I noticed she hadn't even cashed my check in a month, I ended up contacting Elliot Stone of RR several times to inquire about Linda paying him, and he kept telling me he'd look into it, but would never get back to me. I was starting to get very nervous. Finally after waiting three months (while my 1 year period to file was ticking away), I wrote to Linda to see what was going on and to see if she had received the report. She finally wrote back to me and said she had received the report several weeks back but had been on vacation. WHAT?! I've been waiting all this time to hear something, not wanting to proceed looking for other attorneys, and she's on vacation, and my report is sitting there in her office?! So she sent me the report and it is a total joke! Not only did they leave all the important parts out, including 2 of the drugs that led to my sister's death, they got the "timeline" out of order! I was furious. She said she would not be taking my case because the report didn't show that the hospital was at all negligent, or that my sister "fell between the cracks." I wrote her back (and cc'd Elliot Stone) and told her exactly what was wrong with the report. Since then I've heard nothing back from Linda and Elliot Stone has written me twice with lame excuses that he didn't get one of the files because of his "firewall." Baloney. How unprofessional can these people get? First she makes me wait 3 months to hear back from her, while my filing time is expiring, and then tells me she's had the report for weeks but didn't get it to me because she was on vacation?! It is unconscionable that anyone could be that careless and uncaring.
