Being a fan of the IM Thai in Austin, I was ecstatic upon learning that they had opened a second one in Buda. I didn't know they did this at the other location, but you get a complimentary salad and soup with your lunch item. I usually get the Pad Kee Mao, but I've realized that the portions are large and if I want something light I can get a cup of Tom Jeud or Tom Yum soup, side of rice and still leave satisfied. Watch the spicy levels, what you may consider spicy might=mild to them. Great service as always! read more

I am so happy to have found a decent Thai place in the Kyle area. It's small, but, it packs a nice punch and is actually located off Main St in Buda. This puts it just moments from Kyle, or, as I like to say, "Just a skirt up the highway". Currently they are closed on Sundays, so, I've made this a routine Saturday lunch. Schedule permitting of course. I've tried several of their dishes and so far the Golden Noodles with Beef is my favorite dish. So far. I said. So far. That could easily change on my next Saturday outing. Let me tell you about that Golden Noodles dish. It is hot & spicy stir fried flat rice noodles with broccoli, egg, onion, bell pepper, carrots and Thai basil, in red and yellow curry sauce, and brown sauce and choice of meat. I chose beef for the meat. The dish really stood out with multiple flavors that you expect in a good Thai dish. I was impressed with the beef as there was a generous amount AND it was not over cooked. Excellent dish. I've also tried the Pad Thai. I got this one with chicken and was left unimpressed. The dish was a little too sweet for my liking and the chicken was over cooked and dry. Meh. Another dish I tried was the Green Curry Fried Rice. I got this dish to go and it was a major fail. Would never do it again. It was a soggy gummy fail. Maybe it would have been better eaten fresh instead of getting it as a take out. The Pad Kee Mao is another win win. It's a medium spicy stir fried flat rice noodles dish with mushrooms, Thai chili, fresh basil, tomatoes, bell peppers and choice of meat. I like a lot of spice in my Thai food so this dish as is, is not near spicy enough. So if you're like me, ask for extra spicy and I recommend beef or fresh tofu to be paired with this one. Craving Thai food for a while and was in the area today. Decided to give it a try. Gonna say this small restaurant is pretty good. Arrived around a little bit pass by 1230pm on A Saturday. Was kind of worried because it was empty. However, right after we were seated, more people came in not only dine in but also pick up to go order. We got Pad Thai with chicken, red curry with beef, green curry with pork, and ice Thai tea. I am gonna say this tiny spot did suprise me! Both the curry are great! You can tell they try to make it authentic and good. Not like other places, the ingredients they use in both curry are different. In red curry, they have green and red pepper, bamboo shoots, cucumber, zucchini , and Thai basil. However, in the green curry they not only have those but also add green beens, lemon grass and bay leaf. I am surprised to see different ingredients in the two curry! Customer service was nice! The reason I took on star off is because of their pad thai. The only flavor I can taste is ketchup. And the noodle itself is way too thin. Can't be perfect of everything but glad we try this place today. Recommend red and green curry. P.S. The serving is pretty big for the price. Lots of meat in all three dishes! read more

So what's better than a great Thai restaurant? A great Thai restaurant with two locations! Buda is lucky to host the second IM Thai. Same great food as the Sunset Valley location, with some familiar faces too and an almost identical menu. This is in the same spot as the old Thai Cuisine in Buda, right next door to Pizza Hut, but they gave it a major and well needed facelift. It looks great! Food was great too. I don't give 5 stars very often because I'm so picky. This place so far reminds me of Mom's cooking the most in the Austin area. The employees are Thai so listening to them talk amongst each other brings me a sense of home I've not felt since SC. Add to that they are super nice. The food here is the real deal, very authentic. I've eaten here several times and can't think of anything I've disliked, more just not cared for-not because it was bad, more just not my preference. The place is clean but small, however they do brisk takeout. It'd be great for an intimate dinner with friends, family or maybe that someone special. read more

Food was tasty but very under portioned and overpriced. Veggies in the food were cut big and chunky. Each item were about $12 to $13 for the togo lunch but sadly when I got home and opened the box the portion was small enough to be foiled in just the front half of the container and not enough to share. Place just keeps getting better and better. Everything I've had here now from, rolls to rice to noodles to curry and soup it is all fantastic. I love the customer service. That to me either makes or breaks a restaurant. You can have really good food but if there's rude waiters or hosts then your attitude towards the entire facility goes down... So bravo! Buda location! Before and during pandemic we really love this place . In fact , we like the owners they're really customer friendly but last April 12 7:13 PM was something else ! First time we experienced a very very low customer service when we called and placing an order for pick up ! The lady that got my call was so rude , i keep on telling her/ asking her if she can hear me coz there's a very loud background that I think I was on speakerphone! When I asked her to repeat my order she got it wrong ! Thank God i asked her to repeat it ! Then I heard she told Someone talked to this person I don't want to talk to her ! For someone who needs customers ... what a very BAD Attitude for the IM THAI ! Then when she passed it to the other lady it was so clear and that lady was nice . Thai hot? Oh yes, it can be Thai hot. Holy f-bombs hot... but that's just me. My GF (white as white gets) likes the dishes just as they come from the kitchen. The sticky rice is probably the best I have ever had in the states. A yummy sticky ball of rice with some chili sauce is the best! A cockroach scurried across the wall next to me as I ate my soup. I tried to moved seats because this particular cockroach had wings and that doesn't really need explaining. Im Thai has always had exquisite food. We love their Pad Thai and has been consistently delicious.

By the looks of it, you'd never know this is the greatest Thai food place anywhere in Austin/Buda. Their soups are absolutely fantastic! I try something different every time I go there and have been absolutely amazed by every dish so far. I haven't tried many of their dishes that include coconut juice but the one that I tried was fantastic. If you like Thai food, do yourself a favor and give this place a chance. I can't imagine anyone ever being disappointed. read more

How have I not made a review for here yet! I tried it out 2 years ago and instantly had to show my brother for his going away party. It was the best dinner we had together. We had the Kao Tord followed by our dishes of the Golden Noodles and the Pad Kee Mao. We loved both dishes and ended up sharing off each other! He got the Thai Iced Coffee as well hearing it was sweet and was very satisfied. In the end, we got an order of Mango and Sticky Rice and accidentally got two orders! We were not charged due to the accident but we ended up being so stuffed that night with leftovers even then. My favorite dishes are the Golden Noodles and Pad Thai but I haven't had anything yet that I disagreed with. There are a couple of Thai places in South Austin but this one being so convenient and amazing of course makes it my favorite. A tip to add is to try their complimentary soup! Found this place a scant 12 miles from the house and ordered take out, conveniently thru online ordering. I didn't even have to talk to a soul for this food which is best for all in my cranky state. So glad to find a good thai place near(ish) the new casa! I always get Masaman curry from here. I will say that it's not the best Masaman curry I've had but it is very good. I gave it 5 stars instead of 4 because they give you twice as much curry as any other Thai restaurant I've been to, for the same price. So I always get two meals for the $10-$12 I spend here. I can't say enough good things about this place. Staff is very friendly, restaurant is clean and smelled delicious. I ordered the Thai tea and fried catfish in tamarind sauce. It came out in the cutest fish shaped tin and was delicious. I wouldn't recommend the Thai tea as a pairing as I found it to be overwhelmingly sweet. My husband ordered the curry with shrimp and the med sized prawns were plentiful. The young girl that took our order was adorable. I'm guessing she was the owner's daughter. read more

It's hard to resist the smell of Thai when you're coming out of the anytime fitness! I stopped by one day for lunch and grabbed one of the lunch specials. They give you complimentary soup (yay!) and have tofu options available for vegetarians. The food is good, price is OK, and a good Thai option for the area. I was excited for my pad Thai but got about a third of the way through it before I noticed nats landing on my food. While it's not necessarily the owners fault it was interesting to see that they have a "B" on health code. When I asked the waiter for my check and told him about the bugs (in an attempt to explain the almost uneaten plate) he just said OK and didn't try to accommodate. I know others will probably enjoy this place but I wouldn't recommend if you're adamant about sanitation. read more
