I can't imagine how close we came to not using Ankita and Carina for our daughter's wedding. My husband and I knew that Ankita and Carina were the right choice for our wedding from our very first call with them. Spontaneously, within a few days of my son's actual birthday I decided, hmmm I want my son to have a birthday party for his 6th birthday. It has to include his friends and it has to be the DAY of his birthday. I was hysterical knowing Shaan likes everything from SpongeBob to Spiderman to Star wars. Knowing I also had to take care of my 1 year old, I reached out to the ladies of Imagine This. While talking to the wonderful ladies, they of course helped me realize that he's been crazy about minions all year long. Imagine This came up with a great Despicable Me/Minion theme. They did everything from Invitations, party favors, food, a dessert table - (the kids LOVED the rice krispies and cupcakes), and some great decorations that I couldn't have thought of. We even had adults wearing homemade minion hats! We had the movie playing in the background to keep the kids occupied while the others participated in games. I have a unique view of Imagine This Events because not only were they the most wonderful planners that we could have had for our wedding, but I also work with them on a professional level regularly, and I can attest to how great they are to work with. Choosing a planner was easy for us because I knew from professional experience that they are prompt and detail oriented and are willing to go the extra mile for their clients. Also working in the wedding industry as a bakery owner, it is wonderful to work with planners that are on top of all the details and check in with the vendors. Carina & Ankita kept track of everything for us, confirmed with vendors week-of, helped track down bridal party or family members when they were needed, made sure everyone got paid at the end of the night, and also made sure that all of our small details (lanterns, gifts, etc) got put into one place for easy pickup next day. Wow, Ankita and Carina put together an absolutely stunning and impressive event for my wife's 50th birthday party, and they did it in a ridiculously short timeline given that I came to them with less than 3 weeks after parting ways with another party planner that wasn't working out for me. Everyone has raved about the event, the details, the overall ambiance, the food, decorations, and organization. They all saw the final result that looked like an event with double the budget and triple the lead-time to put it together. What they didn't see was all the coordination, creativity, and incredibly responsive communications back and forth between them and me as it started to come together. I'm probably not an easy client - I like to weigh in on EVERYTHING, and I'm a real stickler for details. While I'm sure they can work "turn-key" for a client who just wants it all handled with little interaction, it's more impressive that they worked so well with me over multiple visits to our home, dozens of phone calls, and probably 50 emails. Also nice for someone like me is that they work well in a "silicon valley" way - you'll get a link to a collaborative Google spreadsheet with the running tally of quotes and confirmed costs that I could refer to at any time, on my laptop or my iPhone, to see where we were getting tight on budget and where we could find room or double-check the total. They mock things up in Vizio, they take Paypal, they use Dropbox for exchanging files, designs, photos, etc. which makes it easy for me as well. Best of all, they're completely "open book" - you'll see all the vendor invoices and estimates, and they'll negotiate on your behalf to get better deals. They kept to my budget and were clear and upfront with everything. They actually found ways, more than once, to cut the budget or negotiate a better deal and then asked if I wanted to keep the savings or add in another nice touch with the "found" budget, something I really appreciated! In the end, not a thing went wrong, and everything was pretty much perfect! So many little touches that I know took them hours of work late into the night, and the perfect pick of caterers, suppliers, cakes, rental equipment, and decorative details. They transformed our house and yard into a stunningly impressive and celebratory venue exactly as I had hoped... (actually far better than I could have imagined). I truly got to enjoy the party too without any stress of what was going on, as they were on site and handling everything minute-to-minute with a keen, anticipatory eye and great sense of timing. It's hard to pick a party planner on Yelp... I know. They all somehow seem to have nothing but perfect reviews and rave testimonies. I interviewed half a dozen, and actually first made a mistake with another vendor before realizing it wasn't working (estimate came in 3x my budget, emails that went unanswered for over a day...), so I dropped that team and tried Imagine This. SO glad I did, and I'll use them for any and everything I have in the future. Many of our guests wanted their cards and will be using them as well. In your quest to find the right planner for an event, I'd strongly urge you to at least interview Ankita & Carina to get a sense for their style and experience for an event you're considering... see if they seem right to you. I worked with Carina and Ankita for the past several months putting together our wedding reception. They were absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond my expectations. They have beautiful taste, and are excellent communicators, organized, professional, and extremely pleasant to be around. Our reception was a medium-sized event for 36 guests located at an outdoor venue (San Mateo Garden Center). Although the guest list was pretty small, we really wanted to go all out, so it was rather lavish-- certainly the most complex party I'd ever thrown. They handled it quite easily, though. My now husband and I had just moved to the area in July and needed to find a venue for our early November wedding reception, but since we were new to the area we were totally clueless on where to start. They helped us find the most beautiful outdoor venue that was within a very reasonable price range, which left us lots of room in the budget to play with food, drink, and decor. I was a bit vague in my vision for the party at that first, which made it a bit difficult for them to help direct us to the right venue, but they were completely patient and gracious. They just kept giving us recommendation after recommendation until we found the right one. Once we had a venue I was able to start envisioning the party and set up a Pinterest Board of inspiration. That was basically the end of my input, and from there they created the most unbelievably BEAUTIFUL event. It was my Pinterest Board come to life-- but better!! Many guests commented that it was the most beautiful wedding event they had ever been to. I will post pictures when our photographer gets them to us. They also found fantastic caters (the food was GREAT), rental company (decor was amazing), florist (GORGEOUS-- albeit pricey-- flowers), and photographer. They elicited estimates from tons of vendors, set up our food tastings and cake tastings, and kept track of what we needed to do. Since they have relationships with many of these vendors, I feel like they knew where to find the best bang for your buck. They also went over contracts with vendors for us and made sure that we had all our T's crossed and I's dotted. They went to the venue many times personally to get measurements, talk with the staff there, and do a walk through with the rental company and caterers. My schedule is rather busy and inflexible, so their willingness to do that was indispensable. Ankita and Carina then spent the night of the party with us making sure to keep us in line-- reminding us when it was time to migrate from the patio where we were having drinks to the tables for dinner, reminding us when it was time to cut the cake, making sure we got out of the venue on time, fixing the music when it went out, etc... LOVE them!!! Ankita & Carina were more than helpful to me while I was driving myself nuts planning my baby's 1st birthday party!!! They were very flexible, always respond to emails in less than 1 day, very professional & yet very personal. They were also very creative!! All my guests were blown away by all the ladybug/Valentine's theme decorations. They couldn't complement enough about the party!!! There was a minor accident b4 the party when I panicked, worried that my baby's outfit from etsy wouldn't delivered on time (I ordered it over 1 month b4 the party). I txt Ankita right away because I needed help finding a backup outfit. They took care of it & found me a backup outfit within an hour!!! I was really impressed!!! I know he has learned throughout this process and especially on the Big Day how valuable you two were to executing our dream day. I needed you two so badly when I arrived in that limo-you were my eyes, ears, and piece of mind. Ankita- when I saw you run around in that red skirt I felt the biggest relief of my life-I knew all I had to do was walk down that aisle and it would be perfect. I don't write reviews for places often, but when I experience service that goes above and beyond of what is expected, I feel the need to let people know. I used Imagine This Events to plan a party after graduating from the fire academy, and they went WAY above and beyond of what I had thought. Carina and Ankita made things incredibly easy for me. I gave them a budget and free range to do as they please, because I am not very creative when it comes to party decorations and planning. They not only came under budget (which wasn't much), they created such a great atmosphere and great food for my firefighter themed graduation party. All my guests had an amazing time, and I was able to go home with great memories from the party and my academy. Working with these women was such a pleasure. They are kind, courteous, respectful, smart, creative, resourceful, extremely hard working, and very imaginative. It is very hard to find a company that provides such a high level of customer service today, but I can confidently say that Imagine This Events has it.
