We hired Jutta as our month-of planner for our wedding in September 2024. She was helpful in finalizing our wedding schedule and very responsive to our emails, but her style of execution didn't allow for us to relax and trust that our wedding day could have the best outcome. 1. We had a photoshoot before the ceremony began, so Jutta was responsible for overseeing venue and vendor setup. We asked several times during the photoshoot if things were going as planned, to which she confirmed yes. We did a final check of the venue 15-20 minutes before the wedding began, and found that the DJ had not begun setting up the DJ station despite being supposed to play when as guests arrive. She had also instructed the venue staff to place the water station in the wrong place, a location that was several iterations ago in the venue diagram. Some of our decorations still had labels on them that needed to be removed. It would have been ideal for Jutta to have been on top of these details rather than us catching them ourselves. 2. Shortly after arrival, when the venue setup was still in a fairly hectic stage, Jutta alerted my wedding party, the groom, and I that her bag was missing. Even though her work materials may have been inside, it was an extra stressor during a particularly hectic period when we were about to get into our photoshoot and trying to make sure the venue had progressed enough to do so. Given where the bag ultimately was found, we felt Jutta could have simply made do with a second look around herself rather than alerting all of us and having us look for it. 3. Jutta was tasked for help cue DJ announcements and music throughout the wedding. We had crafted a timeline with her, which also included what needed to be played/said and when. At the start of the ceremony, I was thrown off guard when the DJ was playing the wrong music at a time where he should not have been playing. We asked her to ask the DJ to stop the music, but the music wouldn't stop. It was her job to signal the officiant once the wedding party was ready, but she didn't, so the officiant literally had to walk down the aisle and back to make sure we were ready. My wedding party ended up walking down the aisle to the wrong music, and I was so stressed out seconds before my processional, in case my music and timing was wrong. This was not how a bride wants to feel for the wedding ceremony. 4. During dinner, Jutta confirmed with us if we wanted continuous serving, to which we confirmed yes. But the kitchen staff still didn't seem to be executing with those instructions. We understand if the staff assumed that they would stop service while we were visiting each table. However, given how many times we emphasized keeping dinner timeline tight based on Jutta's feedback on our timeline, we hoped that Jutta would direct serving staff to go serve tables we were not visiting, or just confirm with us if we want to continue service still. This didn't happen and we started to run behind, creating pressure on the kitchen and servers for the rest of dinner. This led to the groom and I having to go multiple times into the kitchen to try and expedite things. Seeing this, one of our guests even offered to take this one herself when Jutta should have seen this and been the one to direct kitchen, take coffee orders from tables, etc. All and all, we still call our wedding a success, but we wish it could have been this way without us needing to step in to do a lot of the coordination. The role of a coordinator is to relieve some of this burden from the couple, but we don't think we got enough of this from Jutta. Her approach was let the vendors do their job, whereas we wanted someone who was more proactive in making sure things were getting done. Throughout all of our interactions, she had enough evidence of our hands on working style and personality, and think she should have adjusted her approach to what would have been better received by us. Instead, she kept us reiterating how things may not go as planned and we should be ready for that outcome. If you're a Bay Area professional, especially one familiar with project management / coordination, who is looking for a planner who can relieve some burden of your wedding day, and actively act as your voice and hands, I would go with someone else. read more

Jutta was our full-time wedding planner and did a beautiful job. In the months leading up to our wedding, my husband and I literally had no idea what we were doing. She held our hand through everything, was very clear about what we needed to do and when, and made straightforward recommendations. She was EXTREMELY professional and responsive. Two nights before our wedding, for example, we emailed her with a question about a communication to our guests, and even though she was at another wedding she responded within a few hours. On the day of, she worked beautifully with our other vendors and protected us from all the craziness that was going on behind the scenes. Because of Jutta, our wedding was beyond beautiful. The only thing we regret is not being able to do table visits, but that's because our toasts ran behind schedule. Trying to plan a California wedding from Australia has so many challenges (just in timezone differences alone), but Jutta helped to guide us all along the way to make our day seamless. She has fostered such great relationships with California vendors and was able to suggest the perfect fit for all of our needs. What's more, not only does she offer fantastic suggestions, she actually listens and is able to translate your vision to a beautiful outcome. We started working with Jutta in January 2018 for our September 2018 wedding. Not knowing where to start, Jutta made our wedding planning journey a lot more manageable. We found her at a time when we were struggling to find the right venue. We wanted a venue that was both easily accessible and had access to nature. We first reached out to Jutta almost 10 months ago for our August wedding, after having already selected Thomas Fogarty Winery our venue and booked our caterer. We had our initial Skype consultation with her and immediately knew that we wanted her as our wedding coordinator. We selected her Partial Planning and Design package, and she did an absolutely amazing job. She was prompt with emails and almost always replied to us within a couple of hours (we don't know how she does it!). Having worked with Fogarty many times and experienced in the wedding-planning industry, she was knowledgeable about our venue and provided excellent vendor recommendations including DJ, ceremony musician, florist, desert, and makeup artist, all of whom are a pleasure to work with. She also has great taste for design/aesthetics and helped us immensely with many small details on the wedding day that we were too overwhelmed to deal with (like name cards). She made fantastic suggestions for several aspects of the wedding, many of which we have not even thought of or knew that we should think about. She was proactive in reaching out to us and making sure that we checked off things that we need to do especially in the 2-3 months leading up to our wedding. Both of us are working long hours and clocking in 70-80 hours per week at work, but the tasks that Jutta gave us were manageable even with our schedule. She was methodical, flexible, and all around a great person to work with. She listened to us and our wishes (some of which were quite unconventional) and made it happen. Our situation was rather unusual, although not unique. We had planned on doing our wedding in August, but one of my family members' health took a turn for the worst, so we decided to move up our wedding to last week so that the family member could enjoy our wedding in good health. When I first emailed Jutta explaining the situation, I expected at most that she would be able to arrange a small court ceremony for us and a nice dinner in a restaurant. What she gave us instead was beyond my wildest expectations. She not only arranged for us to have a real wedding closer to what we had planned, but within 48 hours she had arranged the hotel and venue, hair and makeup, video-grapher with live streaming, photographer, DJ and florist. She even arranged for the macaron favors we had wanted to use in August. She really made sure that the wedding felt like a proper party and not like the rushed thrown together thing we had expected. Our wedding was super memorable thanks to Jutta and A Day Like No Other. As an intercultural couple, we wanted a wedding that reflects our individual backgrounds while having the style of a California summer outdoor wedding - not an easy thing to achieve. What made it extra challenging was that we had only gotten engaged just 7 months prior to the wedding date. Without Jutta's help we couldn't have been able to pull it off, let alone a truly fantastic wedding that our friends and family continue to gush about! Given the shortened timelines, her suggestions on the right vendors were highly valuable and all spot on. Her recommendations are all super high quality but she also kept our budget in mind, letting us know where we can achieve the proper tradeoffs to get what's most important to us while keeping budget inline. Her deep knowledge about weddings ensured that any running around to find the right vendors was kept to a minimum. However, the most difficult thing we had to do was to put all the pieces together - how do we include all the cultural bits, from visually putting the decors together to fitting them into a strict timeline without clashing and overwhelming the whole wedding. Her meticulous work of mapping out all the details and her ability to identify how things should go together made the whole process very straightforward. And she was super patient when we moved bits and pieces around to accommodate different requests. After we had finalized the plans, she also communicated with all the vendors and the venue's day of coordinator to ensure that everyone is on top of things. On the wedding day itself, Jutta's assistant, Kelsey, was super attentive and cheerful. We were constantly reminded that we should enjoy the special day and not to worry about the details. Indeed, we didn't! We simply lived through the fairy tale wedding and reception. Literally everything went as discussed without a hitch. I can't speak highly enough of Jutta and her extensive knowledge of wedding coordinating and planning. I was told by many on the day of my wedding that I was the "calmest bride ever" and I attribute so much of that to knowing Jutta was in charge of the day. Disclaimer: I typically read negative reviews with a grain of salt, understanding that there are often two sides to every story, but my experience working with Jutta had so many red flags I felt I needed to review. I was not the bride, but a bridesmaid at a wedding at which Jutta was the partial coordinator. I've never thought to leave a review for a vendor for a wedding that I was only involved in (as opposed to my own), but I feel strongly about both my own experience at the wedding, as well as the bride's, that it felt necessary to warn others. I was extremely disappointed in the services offered by Jutta as a coordinator. Not only was I a bridesmaid, but my husband officiated the wedding, so we were very involved in the logistics the weekend-of. At the rehearsal, Jutta seemed unorganized and still had many questions for the bride and groom, many of which seemed like they should have been covered earlier on (such as roles of parents, etc). However, my main concerns happened the day of the wedding. During the time where the bride/bridal party we're getting ready at the venue, Jutta was constantly bustling in and out of the room, asking the bride logistics questions, and verbally scolding her for running behind schedule. While I understand the need to keep a timeline going, it was clear the bride was flustered, and despite interference from bridesmaids and the mother of the bride, Jutta was rude to the point of reducing the bride to tears. In my opinion, it is NEVER okay to treat your client, much less a bride on her day, regardless of how behind schedule things are running. The bride had also provided Jutta with boxes of personal touches for the wedding-- drink signs, the guest book, and handmade decor for her to set out while we were getting ready. As guests began arriving, another bridesmaid and I realized the boxes were still sitting, unpacked on the guestbook table. Instead of continuing to get ready and support the bride, we had to leave the bridal suite to hurriedly set up all of the decor in front of guests. After the ceremony when it was time for pictures of the bridal parties and families, Jutta was nowhere to be found. The photographer (who ended up playing the part of day-of coordinator) had to go to the bride and ask her to find someone to step into the role of coordinator instead. A bridesmaid had to run the schedule for pictures, corralling wedding party and family members. My biggest issue with Jutta's services was the way she treated not only her clients, but her manner with the wedding party and guests. Before dinner began, the MOH and I asked Jutta if there was a plan in place for making sure the bride and from ate dinner. (The bride had told us earlier that she thought that Jutta was getting her and the groom a plate before the buffet opened, but she wasn't sure). Jutta snapped at us, rudely telling us that she would take care of it and to "just go sit down". Minutes later, the DJ invited the first tables to go get food. The MOH and I ended up going through the line to get the bride and groom plates, because, again, Jutta was nowhere to be found. Sorry for the long review, but my experience with Jutta differed so much from my own wedding experience with a partial coordinator that I felt it was important for brides to be to know what they were getting with this service. Even as a partial coordinator, a bride should expect to be able to enjoy her day without constant questions, rude comments, and putting her wedding party to work. We had a fantastic experience with Jutta and her team at A Day Like No Other! From day one Jutta was responsive, sharp, professional, and ready to take on the event. I could tell she was so organized and could take charge of everything (the beast that wedding planning is!), which was exactly what we needed, and Jutta delivered exactly that! It was scheduled to rain on our day the weeks leading up to it (and our Plan A was primarily outdoors), and Jutta made sure to prep us for Plan B (layout of the party, and providing umbrellas to guests) - and I'm so glad she did because it did indeed rain! Despite the weather, the wedding was still perfect and beautiful, and seamlessly run. This review is way long overdue and yet it's so hard to start somewhere because Jutta has done so much for us over the past year while planning our wedding. I hired Jutta for a full service coordinator. She helped us move right along in our timeline be it finding the vendors on time to making sure that we had our insurance lined up(which I had forgotten to do). She is very organized, detail oriented, and so much more. The few months leading up to the wedding everyone kept asking me whether I was nervous, but the truth was that I wasn't because Jutta did so much work for us that I knew and trusted all the things were taken care of. I can attest like the many other reviewers before that she is great to work with and she is meticulous about all the details. The first big thing that Jutta did was to help us get our amazing photogrpher Clane Gessel. I had told my now husband that since she was able to do this for us. She was worth every penny. The day of our wedding I had a blast and even though there were a few hiccups (as always) Jutta or her assistant took care of it ASAP. Sometimes so fast, that I didn't even realize that anything had happened. That's how smooth it was. She was in constant contacted with all of my vendors once I had chosen all of them and she coordinated everything so smoothly with all of them. She helped plan the layout of the venue, choosing color schemes for the flowers, planning the sendoff at the end of the night. Personally, because I ended up doing a lot of DIY projects and did lots of researching on other vendors I probably should have chosen a month long coordinator. Or if it was an option I would have had Jutta for a few months prior to the wedding day. However, all in all working with Jutta was such a wonderful experience. I am so glad that I chose her as my wedding coordinator because the wedding was just so smooth and I had no anxiety at all. My husband and I hired Jutta as our "month of" wedding coordinator. This title is a bit of an understatement, as Jutta helped us start to get organized from our very first interaction. I can't recommend Jutta highly enough! Right at the beginning of our interactions she put together a detailed list of everything we had planned and everything we had yet to plan, and then kept us on track, sending us friendly reminders to get various things done. As the wedding day came closer, Jutta took over contact with our various vendors and put together all of the various moving pieces for us. This was a HUGE help, as we had hired all kinds of different people and having somebody responsible for telling them what to do was perfect. Jutta ran our rehearsal and looking back on it, we would have had no idea what to do without her there directing us. My mother, my husband, and his parents were all able to go into the wedding day totally stress free, confident in the fact that Jutta had everything organized and under control. It may seem a bit unbelievable, but I wasn't even a tiny bit stressed during the entirety of my wedding day. I didn't worry at all about what time it was or if I was supposed to be doing something; Jutta or her assistant was at my side directing us when we needed to do something and keeping us on track. I'm sure there were some things that went wrong throughout the day, but I didn't know about any of it since Jutta handled everything. I worked with Jutta at a friend's wedding and she was very on top of the events of the day. Anytime we had a question about a change in the schedule, she found us before we found her! She has a type A personality which is what you want someone to have if they are planning your event. She was still very flexible throughout the day and I could tell she was doing everything she can to make the bride and groom and guests happy. If we had a question about adding something in, her response would be "if you think it would make the bride and groom happy and there's time, let's do it." Jutta was our wedding coordinator and I cannot begin to express how much of a difference it made. She was one of the best choices we made in the wedding planning process. Her expertise in proofing our contracts, coordinating all the vendors day of, assisting with design and detail recommendations, phone calls, emails, constructing our day of timeline, orchestrating our rehearsal - she took all the stress away from us and made everything run smoothly, on time, and without difficulty. Jutta was the perfect support system throughout the entire process, a soundboard for ideas, and her expertise and experience was invaluable. She has the perfect amount of style/flair, sternness (in a good and organized way), and friendliness. She guided me through the process of finding the right vendors, coordinated and set up meetings and made sure I was on my game to check things off my list. We serendipitous-ly met Jutta (A Day Like No Other) while wine tasting at our wedding venue (Thomas Fogarty Winery). She was organizing a wedding for that weekend and was at the venue prepping. She introduced herself to us, showing us her timeline for the wedding and I was immediately blown away. She was able to plan the wedding day down to almost 5 minute increments, kept to an incredibly timely and organized timetable. Honestly, that is what got me and I emailed her that night asking if she was available for my wedding day (9/1/19). After talking with her we decided to go with the month of coordination. It worked well for us as I booked most the vendors myself and felt comfortable handling most of the coordination leading up to the big day. Even though I only had Jutta "the month of " she was ALWAYS available for questions and concerns. Throughout the planning process I would email her contracts for vendors and she would review them to make sure there weren't major holes. Come the month of the wedding Jutta and I emailed weekly, to ensure every detail of our wedding was executed perfectly. Jutta and A Day Like No Other went above and beyond my expectations with our wedding (everything went smoothly and flawlessly) but we also started the wedding 15 minutes AHEAD of schedule. This was amazing because we were able to gain 15 minutes of dancing at the end. The best part of Jutta and her team was the consideration she showed my brother. My brother is severely developmentally delayed, in a wheelchair, incontinent, etc. Jutta and her team showed extreme sensitivity to Patrick, his whereabouts, and his comfort. Patrick was not able to be on the main lawn for family photos, so Jutta ensured he was available down in the Hill House for pictures. Lastly, we had many left over floral centerpieces after the wedding, so Jutta donated them to a local memory care facility. This wasn't in the plan, but I was so appreciative of her thoughtfulness. She is super professional, communicates quickly, answered all our questions, had great ideas from her years of experience and was graceful and easy to work with from the brides perspective and from the mother's perspective. I enjoyed and learned from each of our meetings. All the plans moved forward on time and her detailed timelines helped us all to relax and know we were in good hands. We give Jutta our highest recommendation! She was fantastic--more than words can say! She was truly a lifesaver in so many ways, and I don't think we would have survived the wedding planning process without her! My (now) husband and I were immediately struck by her warmth and the fact that she seemed very experienced, resourceful and creative. Being new at the whole wedding planning process, it was really important to us that we work with someone whom we like and trust, and Jutta exceeded our expectations in every regard! Jutta's communication and responsiveness are outstanding. She would send friendly reminders if certain tasks needed attention and always responded to our questions in a timely manner. She coordinated with and between vendors skillfully and was so on top of everything, consistently. She had fantastic design ideas and was a great sounding board as we were considering various options. Keeping our budget in mind, she would recommend vendors that fit our price point. It was evident that she is very well connected within the wedding planning community and clearly very respected. Almost all of the vendors we interviewed (even those that we learned about on our own) had heard of her and spoke very highly of her. My partner and I had no idea how much communication with vendors takes place in the last few weeks before the wedding, and Jutta was there every step of the way and really made life so much easier for us. We were both overwhelmed by work pressures and a back injury on my part on top of the stress from wedding planning. Her organization and assertiveness with vendors was absolutely invaluable and decreased our stress dramatically. Again, we really could not have survived this period without her. As mentioned above, she exceeded our expectations in every way! As an example, when we met for a site visit, when my partner and I got there, she had already toured the site and gotten to know the staff! Another example: she came to our dress rehearsal even though our church had its own coordinator and she brought faux bouquets for bride and maid of honor! She really thinks of everything. She also made us beautiful seating charts! On the actual day of, Jutta and her two assistants were stellar. They visited with bride, groom, church and reception sites and helped everyone stay on track. We were running behind and her assistant Lisa kindly picked up our lunches to help save us time! I spent quite a bit of time with her other assistant Jessica, especially right before I went into the church for the processional. She was absolutely lovely and her calm nature and kindness helped calm my nerves. She also helped me use the ladies' room later since I was afraid I'd drop my dress in the toilet lol! Talk about full service! :) Jutta helped keep us on schedule during the reception, which was very helpful since we had a lot of activities planned. We appreciated how available she was throughout the night; she always kindly reminded us of what was next on the schedule so that we could be prepared. She stayed through the end of the reception and beyond, ensuring that everything was taken care of with gifts, vendors and that everyone's questions were answered. I realize this review is quite long, but Jutta did such a fantastic job that I feel like sharing with everyone what an amazing job she did. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where Jutta was the wedding planner. Many aspects of the rehearsal dinner and wedding seemed over-looked and disorganized. There were many things that Jutta was supposed to take care of that got mis-communicated or that the bride and groom had to take time away from their special day to handle. She was also harsh / abrasive, and to be honest quite rude to a number of the guests and the wedding party, including myself. This review just proves not to judge a book by its cover and each experience is different. While searching for wedding coordinators on here, I went by the ratings and I was tricked by the 5 star rating of Jutta's business. She was good on paper (emails, meetings, etc.), but her 5 stars did not transfer over to our wedding day on 8/2/14. Although Jutta wasn't helpful and cannot follow certain directions, we still had a fun wedding because our entourage helped us pull it off. Below are some examples in which Jutta did not meet our 5 star expectations as a wedding coordinator: 1) At the beginning of our reception, I realized that our MC was running late. I notified Jutta about it, yet she didn't call him on the spot in front of us and she seemed to be relaxed while my wife and I were panicking. I had to call him myself. 2) Our entourage should have been waiting for us on the dance floor, not on the steps during our grand entrance. This was clearly stated in the agenda: "The couples will form a "tunnel" at the dance floor with their hands." But Jutta didn't follow this simple direction and she told them to wait at the stairs instead. 3) For our grand exit, we specified to Jutta to have the mini bubble wands to be given to our entourage to blow bubbles while exiting. We reminded her last night and toward the end of our night, but she didn't do it. She said she left them at the front entrance and when she came back, they were gone. She was not supposed to leave them unattended in the first place, especially at the front entrance. No matter what, she should have gone above and beyond to ask around and find them for our grand exit, which didn't manifest the way we wanted it with the bubbles. She was not trying to find them and she just stood there and did not do anything about it. It seemed like she didn't even care. 4) Lastly, on Exhibit A of the contract on page 7, it is stated "post event break down (2 hours)." She should have stayed for 2 hours as stated on the contract no matter what or at least until everyone leaves. But she left way before the two hour allotted time and our family were the ones who stayed and tidied up. Bottom line, as a coordinator, Jutta should not allow the Bride to feel overwhelmed and stressed on our wedding day. When our guests insisted to talk directly to my wife, us, about concerns, Jutta should have stood her ground and insisted to talk to them anyway and be at our side no matter what, instead of leaving us to deal with them by ourselves. The stress we endured and the numerous complaints directly from our guests shouldn't have happened. Most of what we hear is negativity from them and we were supposed to be enjoy every single moment. We didn't complain to Jutta the day of our wedding because we obviously didn't want to show that to our guests and we wanted to enjoy our wedding. I highly regret hiring Jutta. She didn't help us reduce stress and it seems like she didn't care for our wedding. Also, it seems she only cared to take numerous pictures to post on her blog for her own benefit, which she didn't disclose to us beforehand. On the day of our wedding, Jutta showed she was not passionate about helping us. I felt it was such a waste of money because she wasn't helpful and we didn't get what we paid for. I won't recommend Jutta to anyone, especially my younger brother who will get married soon. read more
