We usually take out of Imasa 2-3 times a month. I use to love the food here. It's not what it used to be. There are some night that they are excellent and others, like tonight that the food is just not that good. If they weren't so expensive, I might accept it . But the reason I use to pay the price is because it was so good. I will still eat there once in a while. But not nearly as much. Disappointing! Update. We did take out for Imasa again. This time hot "kitchen" items. All things we had before and loved. It was not good. The Pad Thai was dry and had no sauce. The crunchy fried rice was mediocre at best. I've decided that I am not going to eat there any longer. They either sold the company or lost their chef. This is a neighborhood restaurant in a newish plaza. The corner restaurant has a side window exclusively for take out orders, which were plentiful while I dined inside. We were seated quickly on a Sunday evening, though the restaurant was pretty busy inside too. They have booths, tables, and a sushi bar. Our server was very nice, and once we looked over the pretty big menu, she used her tablet to enter our order in and then read it back to us. We had so many options for the 3 of us and still felt like we ordered half the menu because it all sounded so good. We started a large bowl of Spicy Seafood Soup, which our server brought us 3 smaller bowls to share. The soup spice came from crushed red pepper, and it was not very spicy. We then continued with a delicious selection of Dim Sum Shumai and Steamed Chicken Dumplings. While not sure if they were house made, they were freshly steamed. We then started with some cold selections of Poke nachos with 4 in the stack and a Kani Salad that might have been one of our favorites, which was also large enough for a dinner portion. The vinegar dressing was great. Moving onto my absolute favorite was the French Kiss oyster shooter with Uni and Ikura. Delicate and a great mix of flavors. I only wish they were not $10 per oyster, or I could have eaten a dozen. For the sushi rolls, we ordered a rainbow roll, and all the fish on top were decent sized slices and fresh, though nothing really special about that roll. The Pacific Roll was very good, and the cilantro was more of a whipped topping.Since I love spicy tuna, we added one of those rolls, too, and it was perfect. The final hoorah was our order of the 12 pieces of sushi Omakase. Being well experienced in Omakase, this was a great deal for 2 people to share because the prices were repeated on the tray, but they were all awesome in display and taste. We also added 2 pieces of Ikura to top things off. We struggled to finish everything and considered bringing a piece or two home. For our immense amount of food without any alcohol was just about $150 total for a great quality meal that I would definitely come back for again. read more

We wanted good sushi and didn't know any local spots that were good. Will usually travel to Fort Lauderdale or Miami for sushi. We looked at options on Yelp and decided between here and another local spot with hundreds of reviews. Glad we picked Imasa Sushi. It's a nice local sushi spot in the heart of Cooper City. And not gonna lie, it's really good for a local spot. It's small and charming and gets quite busy on the weekends. They're open late too so it's nice if you want late night eats. I think they close at 11pm on weekends. First time we came here, we were thoroughly impressed. Got a variety of menu items and everything was tasty. First off, we're obsessed with the cucumber lollipops as we love cucumber wrapped sushi. The presentation is adorbs. We liked this so much we got another order. Also had the hamachi jalapeno, lobster udon noodles, tako grilled octopus, sashimi. I also want to mention we got bok choy and it was freaking delicious. It's a simple bok choy dish but man, it came out fresh and hot and the sauce was light and tasty. Just perfect actually. My husband agreed on the bok choy. We even dream about it. Haha. So good. Imasa is a bit pricey but it's a nice local sushi spot and the food is good so we don't mind paying for good sushi. We went back a second time and tried a few of the kids bento box options, shrimp tempura and California Roll with a side of mac & cheese. I find it funny that a sushi spot offers mac & cheese as a side option. Really catering to the kids I see. Haha. Got the scallops carpaccio which was different and tasty. Got bok choy again, of course. Sesame seed tuna salad was a good amount of ahi tuna and the dressing was light. Scored the $40 sashimi and sushi platter and it was a good amount of food. Food was so excellent here! One the best sushi spots I've had in a very long time. Everything is super fresh, the crispy tuna rice was delicious. You can tell the tuna was high quality. I also ordered the dragon roll, it was very good. My friend ordered the beef lo mien, the portion was enormous it was enough for 3 people and was made very well also. Our server Aiden was very attentive and super kind, he made sure we had everything we needed and constantly refilled our drinks without asking. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for great quality sushi, excellent service and a chill ambiance. I will definitely be back to try out more items on the menu! read more

When I'm craving sushi there is no other place like Imasa. Great prices and great food. I ordered pickup and Gabby was so friendly and kind as I waited for my pickup order. Regularly updating me on what was being made and how much longer I had to wait. Service with a smile rings true here and every time I come I always have a pleasant experience. I can't give a detailed description on the restaurant itself because I haven't eaten there before but I can tell you that the food is always packed perfectly and is ready to go every time I've ordered. The miami heat roll is my absolute favorite and there isn't a visit without an order of the vegetable dumplings. Those are amazing too. This place is part of the reason I have stopped eating at Chinese restaurants. The food, it's so good! We started out with a couple of appetizers, spicy edamame and a bowl of hot and sour soup. The edamame, the flavor was outstanding. It wasn't overly spicy or drowning in sauce and it was cooked perfect. And the hot and sour soup, let's just say it blows away the hot and sour soup I get at other restaurants. For our meals my wife had the poka nachos, she really enjoyed it. Me, I had a couple of basic rolls, a salmon skin and a California roll. Both were very good. Some of things about this place I liked, it's kept incredibly clean, that includes the bathroom. Maybe Miami isn't known for the sushi. but lots of places in the Northeast part of America blows the sushi out of water. Some of the fish was not high quality at all. Imasa Sushi is a modern Asian restaurant located in the corner of a strip mall. It doesn't look like much from the outside but is very modern and quite pleasant and clean on the inside. Went we arrived late afternoon on Sunday, it was empty but as time past by, it became quite busy and lots of take out orders. So good omen overall. The service from the moment we arrived was on point! Truly good and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Kani salad and steamed Shumai as starters. We also ordered two rainbow and JB rolls and one salmon volcano roll with the sauce on the side. The Kani salad was delicious!! And is big enough to share. The lettuce was fresh and the combination of mayo and vinagre as dressing was sooo good!! Definitely something I would totally order over and over again! The Shumai on the other side were not good. They had no flavor. Now the rolls were outstanding! The fish was super fresh and the sushi rice was on point! The Salmon Volcano roll was mouthwatering good!!!! I had their sushi twice in one week. That shows how spectacular they are as I don't tend to do repeats within the same week. TAKE #1: Arrived home from the airport around 8 PM. Wanted something light as I stuffed myself like a fat piggy in NYC and there was no way I was cooking, especially on my birthday. Figured sushi would hit the spot. Opened up Uber Eats, searched sushi, felt adventurous and saw the the stars on the app. Cross checked with Yelp and that convinced me to order. A miso soup, a California roll, and a dragon roll were what my dinner consisted of. The miso soup was warm, full of tofu and greens. The rolls were perfectly cut and presentation was stellar. Upon taking a bite of each roll, though, I was thrown aback by how fresh everything was. I can only think of one other sushi joint that's that fresh and they're in Miami and I no longer live there, so finding sushi nearby that is just as good, possibly even better, has been a mission. TAKE #2: The real test of how worthy this sushi was though came on the weekend as my birthday happened to be on a Monday. I figured maybe I was tired and experienced a fluke. But hey, the time came to see if that was true or not. My cousin visited me that weekend and took me out to lunch. As usual, we settled on sushi as that's our thing. Yes, we have a thing. I'm sure you have it with your peeps, too. Anyway, my rambling about how we're creatures of habit aside, I told her about this place. She was all fair game for it. We went to the restaurant and it was so sleek and modern and empty. Oh no, we thought. Sushi restaurant empty during lunch time? No bueno. Well, turns out it was yes bueno. We ordered two California rolls, a tuna roll, and a shrimp tempera roll, and they were just as fresh or more so as the ones I got through Uber Eats earlier that week. Flabbergasted. Absolutely flabbergasted. I had hoped and I had prayed that my palette hadn't deceived me, but I didn't expect for my hopes and dreams to come into fruition. I'm usually a big fan of steam buns, which often come garnished with pickled veggies of some sort, their buns only had a disappointing piece of iceberg lettuce, which we discarded. The crispy rice was okay, but the pice of rice was way too big for the small amount of fish they topped it with. We also ordered the Singapore noodles which were disappointingly bland and dry. Part of me wishes we sent these items back because they didn't look or taste worth the cost, but we were so hungry that we ate them anyway. I can't say I will ever care to revisit this place unless there are big changes to the menu. read more

Imasa has some of the best rolls in town! Our go-to rolls are the Imperial Rolls, Miami Heat Roll, and the Green Dragon Roll. They often have great bogo deals on Uber Eats as well. They were heaven sent when we first moved in to town and our fridge broke! Having to order out for a week until the new fridge was installed was not fun but when we discovered Imasa everyone was happy! Their chicken fried rice is an excellent portion and a kid favorite. Wanted to try this sushi place for awhile! My cousin and I ordered the krab rangoons, poke nachos, miso soup, surf & turf roll & the hot night roll as well as the steamed bao buns. Ummm, so out of all the foods that we ordered, I think the steam Bao buns were good. The poke nachos was not fresh, and the sushi was okay.. so $90 for all of this ehhh not really worth it. For some good poke nachos, I'll just stick to yardhouse. Presentation for all these entrees were very nice but the overall expectation of the sushi was not that great. I also didnt like how the pad Thai was sooooo saucy. However, the portion for this pad Thai was pretty large and can feed up to two people. I kinda liked the krab rangoons but it wasn't as tasty, the texture was a bit off. I'm not sure what other options I would order if I came back. I purchased the Fire & Ice rolls on 9/15/25 as a take out order. 25 minute drive from my place. The fish tempura was dark. Unfortunatel, I was very sick with stomach problems-I had parasites which took 4 days to pass out of my system. I called Imasa wanting to speak to the owner or the manager on site. I was told they don't have a manager insite and I was told the owner was on vacation for several weeks. They refuse to with me an email so I can forward my complaint letter. Imasa Sushi came highly recommended from a friend. Their rating on Yelp supported that so it was a no brainer to try and get here. It is a small place with roughly 15 or so tables and seating at the alcohol and sushi bars. Visited during the week and they remained on a relatively short wait the entire time. I started with the hot and sour soup. It was good, and I really enjoyed the broth. It could have used a bit more tang for my preference, and the mushrooms were chewy, but it was hearty and had a little egg drop action going on. I would definitely order again. The sushi was great. Shrimp tempura was crunchy inside the soft roll. Spicy tuna in the Hot Night Roll had a nice level of heat. Many of their dinner dishes sound good but we weren't disappointed we ordered sushi. Fried chicken dumplings and edamame were just ok. We wish they had more flavor than they did and won't order these again, and may avoid all the dim sum options for extra sushi rolls. 4 stars overall, but probably could become 5 once we narrow in on the items we like best. read more

Imasa sits on the corner of a strip mall in Davie. The inside is pretty plain, couple of tables multiple booths and a sushi bar. Music is loud enough that you can have a conversation without worrying about ease droppers. However, kind of disappointing atmosphere. Plenty of seating, very good for large groups or families. The staff is very friendly, always smiling, pretty professional. We started with an order of the cucumber lollipop which was fantastic. The vinaigrette it sat in really made the dish come together. It was artfully presented. The fish tasted very fresh and we had hoped that this meant the sushi would be just as good. Unfortunately Imasa fell flat on its sushi. The roles we tried were just two overdone with sauces or toppings that you couldn't appreciate what was inside. Or, there was such a large portion of cream cheese in the roll that it overpowered all other flavors. Imasa could have a much more sophisticated sushi menu if it incorporated the same principles of the cucumber lollipop into its role selection. Overall, Imasa is sadly just another mediocre sushi spot. Not the worst choice but if you are someone who considers themselves to be an advanced sushi eater, this place will disappoint. read more
