Went here on a Friday for date night.. called before hand to ask about happy hour specials which they informed us that they did not offer any (bummer) and also it's under university pointe which is a college residents building so you would think they would offer something. They did allow us to bring our small dog inside to sit under the table which was nice. Service was good and sushi was fresh but small. Grabbed some sushi here on a week night and really enjoyed it. The sushi was delicious and they had a wide variety on the menu. They had a pretty wide menu with sushi as well as drinks. Sometimes when you go with your gut it really pays off. I went with my neighbor to get pizza, and decided on sushi instead at the last minute. We were greeted & seated immediately by our server "Lexi" and attended to consistently throughout the night. The atmosphere was fitting for a sushi restaurant... dark but well lit and appropriately decorated. We didn't have to wait long for our meals, and we enjoyed absolutely everything we ordered. The portions were good, and the presentation and the taste of the dishes were fantastic! A slight downside is the price... prices are overall slightly higher than other 5-star worthy spots in the area, but not enough to avoid going. Parking can also get hectic at peak times so be ready for it or go during non-peak hours instead. Luckily, this restaurant boasts an incredible range of business hours (some days til 2am!) so there are plenty of options to avoid crowds if that's your preference. Unfortunately, my experience here a few nights ago was not what I had hoped for. Let me start with the positives, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The waitress with the long hair was wonderful, kind, patient, and genuinely friendly. We dined around midnight with just one other table occupied, however food took longer than usual to come out. We started with the crab Rangoon, which was visually nice to look at, but the excessive sodium was a problem throughout our meal. The Rangoon filling wasn't the usual you'd find in Chinese takeout, it had a different texture and was extremely salty. We also tried the kimchi ramen and three spicy tuna hand rolls. Unfortunately, all were overly salty to the point where we couldn't finish them. The hand rolls had an orange sauce mixed in that was extremely salty, and the ramen was also too salty for our taste. We did a take out the first time. Whoever answered the phone was very friendly and nice. We ordered a spider and dragon roll. They are both delicious! The portion was huge - no wonder each roll is kind of expensive. All the restaurants in this plaza under an apartment have a little parking. So, the parking is always an issue. We were the only people in the place on a Thursday which is rather awkward and a bit concerning. Food was not bad but can use improvement. The staff was super friendly and service was above average. Prices are about where everyone else should be. Portions sizes are correct for pricing. The best thing about this place is that they are open until 2am which makes it perfect for a late night out. 2nd time here. First time sat at sushi bar and everything was fine from what i remembered. This time was one of the most bizarre dining experiences I've ever had. There was 1 server, 1 kitchen chef and 1 sushi chef. Just a few tables. No manager in site. All i really want to say is tonight after midnight was chaos. Almost every person in the place left unhappy or confused. Waitress got yelled at by 3 tables. Don't think anyone is to blame for the poor and slow service besides management of this place. It's not fair to the patrons to come in to such unprofessionalism. Please keep in mind the staff was very nice and friendly and i actually liked them......but this meal was pathetic. Ordered a gyoza and a roll and handroll. Gyoza came out within 7 minutes of ordering. Waited 10 more minutes, ordered a ramen. Ramen comes out about 6 minutes later. 30 minutes after this i still haven't gotten my roll and hand roll. There was no new tickets being rang in. Chef needs a helper. He's perfect for 1 or 2 guests only. Waitress needed someone to help her swipe credit cards. If you can't properly serve take out guests and 2-3 inside tables without getting weeded in multiple departments and producing 55 minute wait time for a sushi roll, just close early. Phone rang at one point when she was at hostess stand running some credit cards for a table, and she just let it ring. It's loud. And it rang about 8 times without answering and she just walks away. Came to Sushi Song for lunch on a Saturday and it was quiet, clean, and the staff was very attentive. The menu looked like it had a lot of options, it was really hard to decide what to get because honestly, everything sounded sooooo good. The key about these kinds of places is to try their specialty rolls. That when you'll know if it's a great sushi place. And that's exactly what we did. We ordered majority of our sushi from the Song's Specialty Rolls section and let me tell you... it was one of the best sushi's I ever had... and I've tried a lot of sushi's. My favorite, hands down was the SpiderMan roll - Soft Shell Crab Tempura, Avocado, Cream Cheese, and Masago, Topped with Spicy Tuna Tartar & to our surprise...CAVIAR. It was honestly sooo delicious, we ordered it TWICE! We also tried the A1A, which was really good as well, but our favorite had to be the Spiderman roll. I love the aesthetic of the place, and the fact that this is one of the few sushi spots that open late, makes it sooo much better for us sushi lovers. The chic and modern decor really makes you feel like you are in Miami rather than sitting on the corner of Griffin Road in Davie. However, the food needs a bit of improvement. Really love this place. Finally, some sushi that I feel has a great flavor profile and freshness. They weren't busy at all on Sunday afternoon/evening. The waitress was very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. The inside is small but they have seating for 2-4 plus the sushi bar. The ambience is more of the late night, post club vibe. And I would recommend this spot for exactly that. They have a ride variety of options so an eclectic group of friends can be satisfied. We tried they're tuna tataki which was topped with an little dab of caviar, nice touch. It was good but the texture was a bit off. We also had a little bowl of ramen that reminded me of homemade ramen +, so it was really nice and comforting on a rainy day. We also had their sweet ocean, sobe and voodoo rolls. I can only imagine this is a new place because I would expect way more reviews as per the quality and taste of the food. We live about 5 mins away of this restaurant so we decided to try it.
