10/10. Wanted sushi and came across this place. It's a hole in the wall with the most amazing food. Service was good, owner is nice and super energetic. Huge panther fan, which is awesome! We started off dinner with Edamame and for dinner I had the queenie and honestly it was freaking amazing. It was garlicky and delicious; I could have easily consumed another plate. My husband had the Koume and he enjoyed it. We shared the pork gyozas and they were tasty. The kids had the chicken katsu with a side of white rice and they seemed pleased with it. Naturally we tasted it and the chicken was fried perfectly and the katsu sauce was yummy. If you can, try to make reservations. We got there close to 7 and thankfully only waited 5 mins but it starts to get really busy after 7:30. Been a regular last two years. Fabulous service and fresh tasty sushi. The owner is always there and Toshi has his eye on every detail. He is really amazing. This is a small place and usually we don't need a reservation but frequently call ahead. Some our favorites are any of the rolls particularly the Koume roll. The noodle dishes are delicious too. Anything we have tried is awesome. The dishes are decorated with Cartoons or Anime' characters. The decor is fun and if you love the Florida Panthers so does Toshi. When you leave Toshi will tell you "see you tomorrow" and a lot of times he's right! Worth a visit 100%. Go now unless it's Sunday when they're closed. read more

We had such a great time at Koume! The parking lot was busy but we lucked out on a spot right in front of the restaurant. Upon entering you can hear a familiar shout welcoming you in. We were seated pretty fast and handed a very detailed menu (complete with photos of pretty much every item). We ordered the miso soup, the Japanese grilled squid and the cucumber salad for apps. The little one enjoyed the grilled squid & it was her 1st time having it. For entrees, we had the chicken katsu and the Oasis roll with a sushi ikora. Almost every dish had a different adorable figurine (you cannot take them home) in the plate. The food came out fast and accurate. The tuna wontons were much smaller than expected and came with only four wonton chips, which didn't feel like a good value and didn't taste good anyway. My wife ordered the Miami Heat Roll, but unfortunately the tuna didn't taste very fresh. I had the Rainbow Roll, and the fish on top was sliced extremely thin and had a very dark color and did not taste fresh. We also ordered the edamame, but it came without any salt or seasoning, so it was pretty bland. We were hoping for a better experience, especially given the price. read more

We ordered the cucumber salad and cream cheese wontons to start and I ordered the Miami Heat rolls. Toshi brought out some extra sauces upon request (ponzu and eel). They deserve 5 stars for the ambiance alone! Such a fun vibe with all of their characters from various anime, shows, and movies. Seems like they could have everyone you could think of. We were quickly seated and able to order just as quickly. It felt as soon as we ordered we were already being served. They also moved us to a bigger table to let us know we were getting the sushi boat (although we didn't order it). I guess since we ordered three rolls they put it on the boat for us. It was so sweet and such a cool and fun way to design the sushi with the various characters. All of the various types of fish were so fresh! We ordered the tuna tataki first and the ponzu on the sashimi slices was just perfect. Absolutely delicious. We ordered the eel dancing roll, the salmon dancing roll, and the house Koume roll. We both loved the eel dancing roll the most. The eel was fantastic and the eel sauce was just the cherry on top. The salmon dancing roll was fantastic as well and the avocado was quite fresh. We enjoyed the Koume roll but the yellowtail tuna was hard to get a distinctive taste of and the rice was drier than the other rolls and fell apart quickly. Overall we had fantastic rolls and would absolutely come back for the eel dancing roll alone. We ended our little anniversary dinner with tempura ice cream. So so GOOD! My mom had never been so she ordered yakisoba, my daughter got her usual shrimp tempura roll and lately I have been hooked on the dinner box, so I got it with beef teriyaki and JB Roll. It was all so delicious. We cleared our plates and even though mom had a big portion, she killed the yakisoba. As always, the service is great and they remember us because we come so often. We have been loyal customers of Koume for over 15 years, so it's really disappointing to see how much the customer service has changed over time. During the pandemic, we continued supporting the restaurant regularly with takeout orders because we genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support local businesses. A few months ago, my husband took our oldest son there for dessert. When Toshi handed him a menu, my husband politely said they were only there for dessert. In front of our 7-year-old son, Toshi responded, "Oh c'mon, this is a restaurant." My husband chose to ignore the comment and continued ordering, but the interaction felt rude and unnecessary. Another disappointment has been the pricing changes. Their Chirashi lunch special used to be around $18, but now it occasionally appears as a regular special for about $55, which feels excessive compared to what it used to be. Most recently, we visited with our youngest child and brought in his sippy cup filled with water. Toshi stopped me at the door, pointed to the "no outside drinks" sign, and said the cup would have to stay at the counter. I understand policies, but applying that rule to a small child's water cup felt unreasonable and lacking basic consideration for families. It's honestly sad to see a place we supported for so many years treat longtime customers this way. The food may still be good, but part of the dining experience is customer service, kindness toward families matter too. read more

Seriously, some of the freshest and most delicious sushi I've found. I don't know why I haven't come in sooner. They take pride in quality, customer service, and presentation. Toshi was welcoming and just had the best vibe, making you want to come back for more. The mermaid roll was incredible with this yummy garlic sauce, which I've never had in sushi rolls before. I overheard two tables ordering the tuna wonton, which is what is inside the mermaid. I was so interested in what it was and why they were all ordering it, I just had to try for myself. The mermaid was tuna wonton topped with fresh salmon. It was super fresh and delicious. The Tempura veggies were also great with a yummy dipping sauce. The presentation is so cute, with their action figures. The prices are right and very affordable, one of the few spots that didn't seem to over inflate. My husband has asked me to go here multiple times and I have turned him down saying I have been here before and it wasn't my favorite. Looking back at some older photos, I now remember being there. At first I thought that maybe it changed ownership but Toshi (the owner) said he has had the restaurant for 16 years. So, I think what has changed is the concept and decor. This visit I absolutely loved it. The entry/exit is a little awkward but once we entered service was spot on. The restaurant was filled with lots of toys on the wall along with customer comments. We ordered spicy cucumber (not crazy spicy - great flavor), cream cheese wontons (think crab rangoon without crab) - so good. My husband had a noodle dish with chicken which he loved. I ordered the salmon skin roll (for us to share) with added cream cheese and the JB tempura roll (my actual dish). The salmon skin roll was much different than we typically get and it was delicious and filling. The JB roll was also huge and tasty. Both rolls were presented by Spider-Man. The rolls were big and we ended up taking 1/2 of each of them home. Toshi told us we would see him tomorrow. Not tomorrow, but we will be back soon! read more
