My husband and I went to Sushi Yama for lunch this was our 1st visit and the sushi was amazing. Our waitress server was CC Claudine and she was amazing,she greeted us with a smile on her face,very pleasant young lady. After we said this was our 1st time visiting Sushi Yama,she explained the menu in great detail and gave my husband and I fantastic recommendations that made our meal enjoyable. CC Claudine went above and beyond to make our lunch terrific and she had a great attitude. The aesthetics of Sushi Yama is very nice,it's decorated with Asian statues,they has a beautiful statue of a maneki-neko when you enter the door and beautiful Japanese wall art - kakejiku around the walls inside. From the outside it looks like it might be small inside but that's deceiving inside it's very large on the left and center of restaurant the have booth seating and they have a sushi bar as well on the left,on the far right is a bar and more table seating separated by a wall. We came at lunch time so we tried the all you can eat lunch buffet for $25 per person We had shrimp tempura roll,Snow White roll,Yama roll,caterpillar roll All of the rolls were delicious,fresh and big portions. Sushi Yama is excellent with that. So come to Sushi Yama with an empty stomach or you will not be able to finish the rolls. Pace yourself,I only ordered the next sushi item after I had finished eating if I didn't do it that way it would have been too much food waste. And I know they frown on that ,The harumaki spring rolls came out very hot and were delicious,the spring rolls were my husbands favorite dish. I order shrimp fried rice it was okay but just okay I like my shrimp fried rice with scallions as well,but theirs was fine ,it had egg,sprouts and I believe it was onion as well. Our dining experience started out great. Our waiter was attentive and charismatic. The inside is very nice and spacious. Nice lighting and a good ambiance. Good quality sushi and all different sorts to try from. The food does take long to come out. There were times in between the courses we were waiting 10 minutes for the food to come out. It's a different concept to the all you can eat. You order the food and it's made fresh. Very cool. The reason for my poor rating is because of management. Apparently there's a 2 hour max seating. I'm not sure if it's because they sat us in a table for a big party or what the case was but at two hours our waiter came by and told us the manager said we had met our seating limit. No where on the menu does it say the 2 hour max nor is it displayed anywhere in the restaurant. We paid our meal and let the waiter know we were missing an item which was the cheesecake. He let us know It would be out in 3-5 minutes. More than 3-5 minutes had passed by when another employee came and told us we had to leave because they had to flip the table. We left without the cheesecake and as we were leaving I counted at least 5 empty tables. If you're going to have a time limit make it known and also make sure the food doesn't take long to come out. Not sure how true this time limit is or what the deal was but maybe change the concept of having to wait for the waiter to pass by to order more food so the customer isn't seated for two hours. Everything is made to order and delivered after being prepared. Hard choices to see what rolls or items to order so order wisely as many of these are full rolls. Loved the jalapeño snapper and the Baby Tiger Roll as these were the favorites. Plates are nicely prepared and brought out on platters based on what's ordered to be served family style. Sushi Yama is new in the area and everything is clean and very spacious. Busy spot and service has some improvements that's needed. Orders sometimes are missed or forgotten and not delivered. We had to order simple shrimp tempura like 3 times. Some apps and one roll took forever to arrive. Otherwise everything else was timely. I was blown away by this place! I wasn't expecting much since it was AYCE but the quality of the sushi and service was outstanding. My bf and I came in for lunch and we were excited to try AYCE sushi. The fact that everything you order is made fresh was a huge plus since I'm always a little skeptical about buffets and the sushi just sitting there for long periods. Every single sushi, sashimi and other dish we tried was spectacular. The hibachi steak bites were so good! We each had three different rolls and left nothing on the plate. Located on the corner of Pines Blvd and Palm Ave, this spot is the newest all you can eat to the neighborhood. This isn't a traditional buffet but rather a set menu you can order as much as you want from and they bring it to you. Service was pretty quick and you just have to work out how to best stagger your ordering so you don't have too much at once or waiting too long since they bring out as soon as it's ready. The appetizers were good and we just sampled a few hot and cold to try it out but wanted to save room for the main event, sushi! The ginger dressing is pretty solid there and the clams soup was surprisingly simple but flavorful. The hand rolls were a good size and well made but the flavors of the spicy tuna and spicy salmon seemed to not blend well in the roll. My favorite roll was probably the sunshine roll for its bright fresh flavor followed by the double J roll. The king oyster mushroom tempura was fire and the others were also good but we like the uniqueness and texture of the mushroom. The biggest con to this AYCE is that the rolls are full 8 pieces per order. Everything else seems scaled down to order individually or to share but not the rolls. We were only 3 people and wanted to try a little of everything so we only got to try 4 rolls and that last one was a struggle. Many other spots like this will do 4 pieces per roll so that opens up some stomach space. While the food was fresh and tasty, I won't be running back as there are many other good options for the price point or less for lunch (and certainly for dinner at around $35 a person I believe ). After a quick yelping, we found another nearby Sushi Yama, like the one we LOVE is Orlando near Disney! We arrived to find plentiful free accessible parking in the strip mall. The restaurant is big and bright with a big nice bar area in the indoor patio style room. Lots of seating here. We were seated immediately. It is NOT a buffet, but waiter sit down service and more than just sushi. What sets this one apart from the other all you can eat Sushi Yama is you are NOT REQUIRED to pay all you can eat, even if others in your party elect to! Hubby paid 35.95 which is a steal for him, and I got my usual two cooked rolls. Drinks are refillable with exception of juices & specialty or alcohol. My rolls were good, not exceptional at 5.95 each, hubby's dishes were beautifully presented and he said they were great. Staff were great, although a bit slow due to AUCE. So glad this place opened! I love the idea of all you can eat sushi where it's not sitting out for everyone to breathe on. I've been a few times now, one time the service was a bit slow but the others were great. The restaurant is much bigger than the pictures would lead you to believe, and feels very bright and airy. The food is generally pretty good, although sometimes when I've ordered the tuna sushi it has that sinew in it that gets stuck in my teeth, which i hate. I'm sure this won't be an issue for most people. Be warned the rolls are HUGE. I wish you had the option to order either the full roll or a half roll so you could try more variety, so you might want to go with a group. The menu says no sharing, which is kind of weird if everyone is getting all you can eat? But no one has seemed to mind when we have shared, so I'm not really sure why that's on there. The presentation of the sushi rolls is beautiful, I think the flowers on the plates are such a nice, small touch. The hibachi steak is amazing, I'm not sure what cut it is, but we've ordered medium cook and it's so tender. Highly recommend! The pineapple fried rice is also a hit; if you order hibachi it doesn't come with rice, so you'll have to pick one and order it separately. (Kind of nice, in case you don't want to fill up on rice) It's worth noting that the lunch menu offers Teriyaki chicken, but not the dinner/weekend menu; my mom was disappointed about that. After the first visit, when we had planned to come back with a group, the server told us they accept reservations; but when i later called (they were too busy for me to bother them at that time) they told me they don't, so you might want to time your arrival accordingly. First time dining at Sushi Yama and our lunch experience was better than what we expected. The interior is clean and the atmosphere was inviting. Even for lunch, I would say it was pretty crowded at around 245ish. Our server was welcoming, personable, and professional. Because of high volume, it did take him a little while to reach our table and take our drink orders along with our food orders. Some dishes like the salads came out almost right away within minutes. Some dishes like sushi rolls and nigiri's took about 25 minutes to come out. What took the longest time was the tempuras. Overall though, the experience was worth our time and money. The food quality is pretty decent too. If I must say one thing to warn the future goers, don't order too many tempura dishes because their tempura batter isn't the best. Everything else was decent including the teriyaki's and the stir fried noodle dish we tried. The hand rolls are huge so don't order too many at once. Yes I would recommend this place to others. From sushi rolls to hibachi, they have everything made fresh once you order it. We went over the weekend and they had all day dinner pricing which was around $35. Since I don't eat as much as I used to, I don't think this is entirely for me but I still wanted to try it out! The food was super good and fresh. The space is definitely still new with very attentive servers. We had two servers come up to us introducing themselves and taking our drink orders so I don't know if they have specific sections for servers. Alexa was our server and she was amazing! Decided to try this place during their Lunch AYCE hours on a Monday. Place was not too busy, lots of seating indoor and outdoor. The furniture fit the theme, enjoyed the bonsai and Japanese themed decor. The menu had a lot of options even though it was lunch. If you order a bunch at a time, they will creat a large tray of the sushi/rolls that you ordered. Really convenient and space saving. Pros: We enjoyed the nigiri, hand rolls, fried tempura and appetizers. Everything came out freshly made, perfectly fried and arrived quicker than anticipated. Cons: The Shu Mai wasn't bad but caught me off guard that it tasted fishy. My first order of salmon nigiri looked amazing but the second order the salmon looks dull and without color. I have eaten at another one of their restaurants and was quite happy there so when they open one a bit closer to my home, I decided to give it a try. Well, I enjoyed the one I ate up before this one can only be called outstanding. Nearly everything about it was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and well arranged. The food is fresh delicious creative and well priced. The service is generally pretty good although I did think it suffered a bit because I was seated in the bar area and it was understaffed for that particular area that day. This did not affect the overall experience. The all you can eat menu is good, missing only a few items like Uni. But for the price point is beyond adequate. The a la carte menu was also quite good and unlike their other restaurant, my wife who does not have nearly the appetite that I do was not forced to order all you could eat as well when sitting at the same table. This was a huge selling point for me. One of the best things about this particular restaurant is that they serve sashimi as well as sushi. As such without filling up on rice, I was able to sample a lot of different items and I have to say there were no disappointments. Things like scallops and sweet shrimp were a bit smaller than I am accustomed to, but were delicious. The rolls were beautifully done, including a wonderful rainbow Naruto roll which I would highly recommend. The sashimi was served in an absolutely beautiful tray which you can see in the attached video. Other all you can eat sushi restaurants simply do not do things like this. Total standout in presentation. Service is excellent in food. All came out relatively quickly considering it was quite crowded that day. There was nothing that I did not enjoy completely. In fact, in several instances, I ordered more of the same thing. I tried a couple of specialty rolls in a hand roll and each of them was expertly prepared and well beyond my expectations. The dessert choices are few, but they did have green tea ice cream, which is what I wanted so I cannot complain. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. When I say closer to my home, it is still almost an hour away, but as well worth the drive and I think I will be going often. I haven't had this sort of AYCE experience since living in Europe, so im quite happy to see this location have it- where you order off a menu and it comes out promptly. The sushi itself was extremely fresh, tasty, and irresistible. The Sashimi was buttery smooth and melted in my mouth, some of the best salmon sashimi I've had in a long time. The specialty rolls we got were very unique and flavorful, you could eat them with no additional soy sauce here because everything was so full of flavor. I also cannot recommend enough getting the Eel sushi.. wow. It was cooked to perfection, fresh, and so yummy. On top of all this, the presentation for the plates was astonishing and beautiful, everything from the restaurant decor and vibe, to the ornate plates, to the presentation was a 10/10. Had a super great experience at Sushi Yama! First of the decor inside was very nice and the entire restaurant was super clean. We did the AYCE weekend lunch which is the same as the dinner price. Our server was fantastic when it came to answering questions that we had. The ayce style at this restaurant is that you order what you want with the server. The food came quickly and everything was super tasty! The only thing I didn't like was the diet coke that I ordered it seemed like maybe the flavoring needed to be changed.
